China Red in Northampton

1st time in China red tonight so thought I would just order chicken curry egg Fried rice and salt and chilli wings The guy took my order was lovely I’m a drive away but food still hot when I got home absolutely loved it

Food always comes so hot and fresh. The best sweet and sour sauce from any takeaway

Has this been taken over by new people? It’s suddenly gone really down hill… spent £95 the other day for my family, everything was awful, ribs and Satay chicken were so slimey most of it was left. Really disappointing it was the best Chinese around.

Doesn’t accept card payments, who still carry cash these days???

First time ordering from China Red. Delicious food, i would highly recommend. Great service, great food, lovely staff. 10/10. We will now always use China Red.

I ordered my Chinese at 17.50pm on Saturday and I received it 2 n half hours later I asked for a deduction on my bill and all I got was £2.10 off I think that was a insult

Great takeaway, food is not dry or burnt as other Chinese places I've tried. Really nice food, make sure you take cash as they don't accept cards.

Great food, but I took away 1 star and made it a 4 because its 2023 and they don't even accept card payment, I agree cash is king but I and others don't exactly always carry cash around with me and when I hear over the phone they don't accept card, I wonder how much business they actually loose because of this, I have been put off using them previously due to this as I don't want to go out to get cash, the point of delivery is so you don't have to leave your house to get the food but not accepting card is very restrictive for the customers.

Always go here if I need my Chinese takeaway fix! Staff are always super polite and friendly, the food is always hot and fresh, never had an issue here! The place is spotless, and the delivery driver is always nice and friendly too! 1000000/10 recommend if you want an amazing Chinese takeaway!

First time ordering from them today and oh my god food was delicious, usually the chowmain I get from anywhere else is salty but this was lush and the curry sauce and egg fried rice is lovely to, would definitely recommend

Ordered a take away from here on a visit to Northampton, while staying with relatives. They said this was the best in town and I think they were right. Barbque spare ribs with sauce was wonderful. Chicken curry was good too. Special fried rice also excellent. There was lots so we actually had it 2 nights on the trot!

For a Chinese takeaway, China Red is undoubtedly one of the best in the area; the food is perfect and doesn't come at a premium price. From the menu, we see the fairly typical offering of dishes with a few house specials and all prices are in line with other takeaways.

The size of the portions you get and the food makes it so worth it

Tasty food and at a good price. On average I have had to wait 20 minutes until the food is ready which I think is fine. The only downside is that China red doesn’t accept payment by card.

My favourite take away, as a vegan my dishes are always bespoke and the staff are more than happy to accommodate ...

Clean !!! Staff are always friendly ... the food second to none been going for years and won't stop !! Spare ribs are out of this world beef and black bean sauce is incredible 👌🏼 keep it up guys highly recommended

The cleanliness of this restaurant is second to none. I normally choose the Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken but on this occasion I opted for the traditional sweet & sour chicken balls as they give you twelve in one portion so easily does two people. These were very nice, however the sweet and sour sauce was pretty disgusting and obviously straight from a purchased container. The egg fried rice was sticky and non-descript, the chips in the other portion were frozen and not your traditional style Chinese cooked chips. (Yuck) My wife chose the chicken curry which had a disgusting almost white translucent sauce that was clearly thickened using way too much cornflour. To be honest I'm also fed up with these sorts of establishments only taking cash payment, probably avoiding declaring most of what they're earning!

Always place a take away order here every Friday night . Arrives as advised nice polite delivery and food is still hot . Even on a busy Friday i only wait about 40 minutes. Value for money.

The best ribs used to be at the Jasmine House many years ago. they went downhill. My son tried every Chinese takeaway in Northampton trying to find some as good. He succeeded !! These bar -b que ribs are really good. Lots of super sauce to go with them. Other dishes were just as good and may not be the cheapest but certainly the best.

This is the best Chinese takeaway in npton. Very good for vegetarians with the best cooked bean curd that I have ever tasted. Staff always polite with good telephone manner. Always a nice treat and food cooked to perfection not heavy or greasy. So glad I found this takeaway. A must for vege food fans
