When i visited this Incredible Local Hotel/Pub/Restaurant, I was Welcomed by the Professional Bar Manager, who Greeted me asked me, what would i like to Drink. I told him, then he started to poor it for me. He asked me, would like to see the Menu. I told him, no thank you, i was just having a pint or two. Then i went and sat down. I was very Impressed by the very Brautiful Decor of the Black Horse Establishment. It has a very Modern Restaurant and they also Cater for Weddings and other Social Events. What a Great place to and visit and have something to eat in there Restaurant and Lovely glass of what ever You desire. I really Do, most Highly Reccomend you come and visit and put this Beautiful Establishment on Your Map, of places to go. It was my first time dining here, and certainly not my last! The black horse is a gorgeous old country pub with period features and has the most beautiful restaurant. The staff are delightful.... welcoming and friendly and there is a good menu choice. My burger was absolutely delicious and my friend also enjoyed her salmon. The desserts were a real treat too.... the pistachio and salted caramel cheesecake was to die for. Portion sizes were generous and i felt like it was really great value, given the exceptional quality of food and fabulous service we received. A great evening and I would confidently recommend a visit if you get the opportunity.

Having been keen to see it open after flooding at Christmas it was such a shame that it took 40 minutes waiting for coffee. The sit wait to be asked what you want simply makes the process longer. To be able to use a machine to get a drink or help yourself to a snack would free up the many staff from running around. Itโs been closed for repairs and renovations for 4 months. It is a shame that this was not used as an opportunity to improve processes and efficiency which would have made it a better experience. Itโs like nothings changed.

I am cross with myself that I have never been before to this gorgeous place. Such a gem, very tasteful, beautiful tea, amazing toasted sandwich and lush freshly baked cakes. I had a really relaxing afternoon with my friends on the terrace in the sunshine and delicious food. Thankyou. Please can you let me have some of your china teacups as they are exquisite!!!!

There are other ways of ensuring that customers abide by the Covid rules that do not involve bellowing across tables in front of other punters. A friend was in the process of putting her mask on when instead of politely approaching her and asking if she could do so, the owner barked at her from a few tables away to"Put your mask on NOW". No pleasantries, no manners. No consideration of whether she may have had a hidden disability which would have rendered her exempt from mask-wearing in the first place. When he was spoken to politely and calmly to suggest that as someone with a hidden disability, it was not appropriate to shout at someone in this way and that some manners would not have gone amiss, we were met with a rather curt "I'll police my pub how I want to, if you don't like it, then leave". We had no issues with the rules and were not breaking them. Our issue was with the owner's sheer rudeness and lack of tact in enforcing the same. More consideration needs to be given to those who are possibly exempt and paying customers should not be shown up in front of others this way. A balance needs to be struck between enforcing the rules and having consideration for others that may have genuine exemptions. The encounter has left a sour taste in our mouths and we will have no issue warning others of the unpleasant experience. Our custom will now be taken elsewhere.
