Had a lovely afternoon tea here today . Great variety of food and served on beautiful China crockery. Service was great and will definitely return . Special offer of 2 for £35 by far the best I’ve had and boxes given to takeaway items we couldn’t manage to eat as we were full . Extra pot of tea given free of charge .

We went a few weeks ago and had a lunch. The lunch was nice but cold. I don't like .cold food. We waited for our plates to be cleared and hoped to order some dessert. No one came and someone with a trolley goes round clearing empty tables. So we gave up with dessert. Everyone can have a bad day so we chalked it down to experience. This Sunday we decided to try again. Sadly it was Exactly the same. We had a roast. The beef was lovely, two little barely roasted potatoes and a few bits of carrot. Stone cold. The gravy was cold. Again waited in hope of a dessert. Same again. When we paid I think it was the manager on the till. I paid in full. I told him of our experience. ( As I had by email last time) He welcomes the feedback and apologised they were understaffed. Twice is inexcusable. Sadly there won't be a third visit. Such a lovely place, such a shame.

Visited for lunch and enjoyed tasty sandwiches (lots of filling), however I do feel prices have gone up considerably since the flood and refurb. No salad with the sandwiches (just a small amount of coleslaw) and you now have to pay for the chips. Service was good and enjoyed a wander around the garden centre.

We had a lovely time looking around the garden centre and bought several purchases. We then decided to stop for some lunch. I chose the jacket potato with tuna and mayo. It said it came with salad. The staff were polite, ambience of the restaurant was good, but the food was poor. When the meal arrived, I immediately saw that the portions were unbelievably mean. The potato was small, and the tuna and mayo was in a tiny ramakin dish. The salad consisted of four wilted leaves and one unripe tomato cut in two. Unfortunately, I will definitely not be eating lunch here again if that is the usual standard.

Visited restaurant with a friend Stood at desk waiting to be seated for good five minutes while staff stood about talking while the restaurant was empty as customers sat outside. Had to tell member of staff we was waiting who didnt seem bothered.Sent email to the General Manager that was a complete waste of time as just gave excuses. But it seems reading the reviews on here loads have had same issue with this restaurant. And no one from Waterside bothers to reply to reviews. The management and staff need to remember it's us customers that keep them in a job. Will not be recommending this restaurant or garden centre to anyone in the future. Much better restaurants and garden centres local to Stamford

The restaurant is very smart following the refit. We arrive during the week at about 1330, so it wasn't too busy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and fairly quick to take the order. Our first choice had sold out, but no problem because there's a reasonable selection on the menu. We had the beefburger (with bacon added) and chips, coleslaw included. It was very tasty, with a slight chargrilled flavour. The chips were chunky enough and crisp on the outside. Drinks were americano and cappuccino, both good quality. The only criticism I had really was the price. For two people, this was £36.38, which is pushing it a bit. It was the drinks (£3.00 and £3.80 respectively) that pushed it up. The menus are available online from their website, so maybe take a look before visiting. It's also worth noting that the garden centre does not take cash as payment. This is not new and I personally have no problem with it, though I understand some would like the option.

Stupid choice to go cashless, absolutely idiotic. We visited Waterside for two purposes. Firstly to have lunch and secondly with the intention of purchasing about a dozen shrubs to fill a long raised bed I had redesigned. We entered through the doors and turnstile and at that point I realised I hadn't put my blue disabled badge in the windscreen. I didn't fancy walking all the way round to the far end of the store and out to put it in so I told my wife to stay where she was and I would nip out the entrance when someone came in. I stood by the door and there was a member of staff standing the other side of the doors. I attracted their attention to try and get them to approach the door so I could nip out. All I was carrying was my walking stick. They gave me an angry glare and gesticulated to the far end of the building . Knowing they would not activate the door I waited for a customer to come and went out, then. I was "treated" to a tirade of foul mouthed abuse from the member of staff about it being the entrance and I should have gone out the exit. Yes, all that way round with my walking stick and then in again. I pointed out I realised it was the exit but I had forgotten to put my blue badge in the car. The response was, they "couldn't give a ****. " I returned to my car, put my blue badge in and returned to the entrance and more angry glares. Because we were hungry we went to the restaurant for a lunch, anyway, but it was not at all good, and then we left and bought our shrubs at another garden centre. Obviously Waterside doesn't want the inconvenience of disabled customers so we will never go back there.

Following a funeral 12 of us visited here for coffee and cake and some cooked food. Firstly coffee and cakes were fine. However, some of us ordered 3 bottles of pepsi and noticed each bottle had blood splattered on them. We called over the waitress, who didn't even apologise, just said they had only just been delivered. We did get replacement but one of the new ones also some on but couldn't be bothered to complain again. A short while later our two panini's were delivered and there was a dark, long hair on one of the plates on top of the chips. Once again spoke to a younger waitress , who again didn't apologise but said she would get a new one. Within a couple of minutes she came back with another one. I asked if she had just taken the hair out and she said "no, there was one waiting to come out". Not sure if I believed her but it was eaten as we couldn't prove otherwise. Won't be returning.

Was very disappointed to see that Waterside has adopted a cashless policy. When only purchasing items of low value, we like many people, prefer to pay cash. And what happens when the internet goes down and the machines don't work? Do they just close completely and send everyone away? Also, not very well laid out for disabled people or those having to use walking aids. Had to move items out of the way so my elderly mum could get around with her walker. Toilets were a considerable way from the entrance and given the location of the garden centre, I imagine this is often the first thing visitors need on arrival as the majority would arrive by car. Prices generally were not competitive with our local garden centres and we left after only 45 minutes because we considered the garden centre to be overpriced and my elderly Mum was getting fed up with having to walk a long distance around the outside and inside areas because they insist that the most accessible door, which saves a considerable walk, must only be used by staff! Not much thought given to disabled guests at all.

Visited here to go to the Oasis Restaurant really, there is a separate Trip Advisor review site/location literally named Oasis Restaurant but the last review made on it was in 2017 so it looks like most people seem to review not just the garden centre on this one here but also the restaurant so I have opted to just review the Oasis Restaurant based on a gluten free experience. Since being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease 2 years ago it is hard to find eating establishment that not only cater for gluten free diets but also are clued up on cross contaminated procedures, not sure if this restaurant adheres to these. I decided not to chance a cooked meal but chose one of the gluten free cakes on open display in the chiller cabinet at the counter, there were about 4 choices of gluten free cakes all of which had been pre-sliced and portioned onto tea plates but no coverings on them. I only hope that whomever did this had the common sense to use separate clean utensils to do so and not use the same utensils as for the normal cakes? I had the chocolate fudge cake which was fine but left a strange after taste in my mouth and the sponge was a bit dry, not sure how long these cakes had been left sitting in the chiller uncovered for. Will maybe try this restaurant again in the future and perhaps will chance a hot meal, would be interesting to see what gluten free options they have.

Having seen significant advertising we decided on a bank holiday visit. We had a long drive to get there and there was nothing special to bring us back. Lots of different products and outlets but no logical layout and its hit or miss if you find what you are after. Impressive selection of water plants available.

It's quite possible that we visited the tidiest and fullest (and I mean full) garden centre in the area yesterday. Not only was the plant selection vast it was all good quality and well looked after. And while you're here definitely visit the café. Good value and scones are brilliant.

Mum & dad were looking for a nice but different place to usual for lunch. Mums pork & stuffing sandwich was ok. Dads gammon- he says was tough- dad is old so maybe his teeth!! He could only eat probably a 10th if that of the gammon. The egg was perfect, the chips looked dry. My potato had obviously been cooked more than once as it was a brownish colour- so was definitely soft. Mum & dad has so little to eat- usually a small appetite, they had teacake & scone with coffee after.

First time eating at the waterside restaurant, the family and I felt extremely welcomed by the amazing staff and manger Emma. We ordered several panini which were all delicious! Our waitress, a lovely young lady, was very chatty and great to talk to, really made me and the children feel involved.

Food fantastic always served hot. I have never been disappointed at this restaurant, since I've been coming to this place. The exception today was that the system was added where you can take the menu to the table alas you had to pay for any drinks you took and then return to place order and again pay for the meal. The other gripe was the teabag in tea pot was was very weak it did not matter how many times you squeezed the life out of it. But staff were polite as always.

Today We came in to look around, mainly at christmas items. But we also stayed for lunch today in your cafe and it was one of the best fish and chips I have had. Batter not greasy at all I could eat the whole thing I only left a few chips because I was getting full and that was about it really. We will come back when more of the christmas display is ready.

I travelled from the top of Lincoln after calling the garden centre and being assured it was dog friendly. We planned to spend the day there meetin grandparents, and having lunch, to find out that dogs are not welcome anywhere near the cafe, despite their being an outside patio and play area. The manager Emma was quite rude about the face they don’t allow dogs anywhere near the food area but this should be made clear. If you have lots of people asking about using the cafe facilities with dogs, then why are you not doing something about it?

Visited for breakfast on a Sunday morning and food was lovely. Served to the table and freshly cooked. My only complaint would be that we like our drinks with our food but you either have to get drinks when you pay or get them when you’ve finished eating! Would definitely recommend though! Surprised by negative comments as we have often been for coffee and cake too and never had any issues.

Having lived locally for many years we've been very frequent visitors to the cafe. It's now a shadow of its former self. You enter an area where there is a drinks fridge and some cold food offerings along with a cake display. There is a notice on the wall about roast dinners and also a note about sandwich/jacket potato/panini fillings. We asked for a cheese and ham panini but were told this wasn't possible as it comes with tomato as they're pre-made. We took it anyway but it was a pallid and disappointing effort, a little tasteless. A jacket potato was only cooked through in about half of it's entirety. Such a shame as this place has massive potential with great parking, one level and acres of space to eat inside and out if the weather is fine. I think there needs to be a shake up in the kitchen in terms of standards and also some more modern and contemporary offerings for the menu. We'll go to a local pub next time for a quick bite to eat until Waterside improves its catering offering.

Regular visitor here as it is my local garden centre and has a pet shop (pets corner) and a tropical/ fresh water aquatic shop. The aquatic shop is great being good value, healthy fish excellent range of filters and accessories for indoor and outdoor fish. Pet shop ok but a little pricey although staff in both these shops are very friendly. I do find the actual garden centre very expensive though. Good for a walk round with a butchers and multiple shops to look in.

Cafe serves food quickly and it’s really tasty and good quality. It’s an absolute “must-visit” around Christmas-time. Grab yourself some bargains in January! We will definitely be visiting again.

Stayed here when visiting friends. As you will see from the photographs, it is very poorly kept. There was a very large spider when we arrived and the person who booked us in was less than friendly. Food was okay although no breakfast was provided. Would not recommend this place at all. Heating also went on the blink so we were brought an electric heater until they could fix the boiler. Money needs to be spent here urgently.
