The best restaurants in Aston South Derbyshire East Midlands

We had my mums Wake at the White Hart Inn on November 14th 2024. It’s a lovely welcoming pub, with friendly staff who helped to make everything go smoothly on the day. The food was lovely, and even though it was a sad day, the staff and management did their best to make a bad day better. I would definitely recommend this pub. It’s friendly, clean and cozy. Sj. 😊

Been comein here for a few years now since moving to shardlow great staff and ale only down side foods gone up in price and Portions have got smaller

Upon entry of the casino we received fantastic service on the bar and the restaurant. The food was very tasty and the service was friendly and quick. Very much recommended to visit. A+ restaurant.

We chose here for a small gathering of colleagues/friends for a works Christmas party. We had the room upstairs which was the perfect size, gorgeous decor, comfy chairs. We could use an Alexa for background music and drinks available downstairs at the bar. We were able to order in pizzas for delivery which was great and a cheap option between us all. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. A great night had by all

You can’t book a table, but no need add there are lots of free tables. Huge portions, good prices, friendly service, then go for a walk around the garden centre (and market stalls when a special is on) to help digest it all.

This pub was a favourite place to drink and dine especially in the summer as it has great outside amenities. Sadly over the last couple of years it seems to have lost its way. Prices for drinks are excessive, I.e. pint of Pedegree £4.70, there are 3 other pubs selling Pedigree for £4.30 and they are more upmarket than the Jonty. It has seen many managers over the last couple years, obviously all tasked with with improving its turnover which judging by the lack of customers, must have plummeted. We have persisted with our visits due to previous enjoyment had there over the last 15 years. On the last three visits in late Jan and Feb of this year.......it was cold and unwelcoming. I checked the radiators and they were all turned off even when -1 outside ? I am sorry to say that if this what Marstons advocate their pubs to get like, we will not be returning. It requires redecorating badly too and the gents toilet has wallboard hanging off the wall for over a year ? Have Marstons given up on this once fab place, it definitely looks like that is the case.

Called in fir breakfast this morning. Nice and clean with pleasant staff. Unfortunately the breakfast wasn't very hot and the toast wasn't done. Not sure we would chance it again.

Recently visited for the first time with a large group of 18. No complaints at all, food and service were both excellent. The 'bring your own booze' helped keep the bill down too.

-very good yogurt bowl -the toast is very nice -very great atmosphere -reasonably priced -waiters are a little slow
