Great vegan burger and vegan currywurst. Friendly staff. Dog friendly. Great beer. What more can you want after a long hike

Cafe is the recommended place to go after Glossop parkrun as it is a short stroll from the finish area. Lovely outside seating area, very sunny, next to a stream made it a relaxing time. Good coffee and home made scones fresh out of the oven. Go there after the run, you deserve it.

Food was delicious and the staff are amazing and work extremely hard. Good quality fresh food. Only downside was the smoking area at the front of the pub meaning there was a strong smell of smoke. Shame as otherwise a perfect spot for Sunday lunch.

Dive! Food is over priced for what it is! The shared toilets are shocking! Women having to use a toilet that men have wee’d all over Not the friendliest place unless you’re in the clique and the new ‘ manager ‘ ruins the place.

I have been to Hyssop while it was on High Street West, and then under its new name and premises, Hyssop and the Hare on High Street East. We had the chef's choice menu on an early Friday evening. The food is outrageously well priced given the quality. The pork belly and cabbage in particular was some of the best food I've ever tasted. One of my party commented that it was better than the pork belly at the Hand and Flowers. I can well believe it. The focaccia was unparalleled. Dessert was a pleasingly large slab of deliciously balanced sticky toffee pudding. I prefer the cosy environment and atmosphere that is the new venue, to feel so relaxed while enjoying such high quality food makes for a wonderful experience. The vibes are immaculate. The house red is excellent and we enjoyed a round of superb martinis. The service is warm and friendly, Mia is a delight and really enhances your experience. The waiting staff were knowledgeable about the food and could readily answer questions about the dishes. There is a £20 pp deposit, which is unavoidable and understandable these days, as is the apparently strict enforcement. I am so glad that after the devastating fire Glossop gets to continue to enjoy such an extraordinary offering. I look forward to trying the Cosy Thursdays menu.

This was the worst tasting and smallest lasagne I have ever had and it cost £14.95!! It consisted of 1 sheet of pasta as a base, a couple of spoonfuls of mince meat topped with another pasta sheet and topped with cheese. The oval dish it was served in was barely 1 inch deep was about the size you might serve a side of veg in. The cheese topping was baked hard and the whole meal dry and tasteless. It was served with a small amount of salad and 2 small pieces of garlic bread which was soft as though it had been warmed in the microwave. As small as it was it tasted so awful that I left half of it. If you put the actual cost of food used to make it you'd be pushed to get it to add up to £1.50! We hadn't been to the Queens for a quite while so we thought we'd give it a try for an early Saturday night meal with my son and his partner. The quality of food has really gone down since our last visit and we definitely won't be going back again any time soon. The Queens are really going to have to up their game and supply edible food at a realistic price. The pub was busy when we got there and there was only one man and a boy cooking in the kitchen. Shocking tiny meal at a premium price. Never again!!!
