Queen Spice in High Peak

As ever, Abdul and his team served up a fantastic meal, definitely the best curry house in Glossop and the surrounding area.

One and a half hours later., after ordering how DISSAPOINTING seek kebabs crap and so was the tandoori chicken starter. Has this place changed hands?. I could make better myself following a recipe. NEVER AGAIN.

In my view this is the best "curry house" in Glossop. It is located above the Queens pub which has a decent selection of beer which Queen Spice takes advantage of We have eaten here a number of times and never been disappointed as the food has always been great. We have also used Queen Spice as our default takeaway and again have never been disappointed The restaurant was unbelievably busy with a very large party on our latest visit. Despite this we were well looked after and our food arrived as expected....no big waits

Queen Spice fitted us in at the last minute. Everything we ordered was superb. The garlic chilli chicken was flavoursome and perfect heat. The Choice of drinks was extensive.

We live in Glossop, and Queen Spice is our go to place for Indian food. Its located over a pub that does great beer, the food is excellent and the service is friendly. What more do you want!

The food was so good, we dined there two nights in a row! Staff were very friendly and took the time to explain and recommend dishes on the menu.

Gorgeous meal, as always …the quality is second to none and Abdul and his staff were very friendly and gave excellent service . Love everything cooked in the Tandoori oven , the flavour is unique , so much better than conventional methods . The shami kebabs were sublime as were the lamb chops . Cheese naan is heaven ….. everything was lovely , thoroughly enjoyable meal .

Went to the Restaurant upstairs in the Queens Head pub and ordered a delivery of 5 main dishes and other sides for 3 of us. All of us loved each dish very generous portions and all delicious. Definitely recommended

I came here with some friends. We booked a table for 8:30 on a Sunday and when we arrived they promptly told us that they closed at 9:30 and we needed to be done by then. Why didn't they tell us this when we booked it? The staff then proceeded to hover over us whilst we ate making us feel rushed. What a shame, I wont be going back. The only saving grace was the food was nice shame we didn't have time to actually enjoy it. Also, very limited vegetarian options and the menu was pretty usual Indian takeaway/restaurant food. No point in doing good food if your service sucks.

Visited Glossop for a few days and was recommended this place by a friend. Best curry I have had in a long time, and for a very fair price. Wish I had somewhere as good as this near me!

Arguably the highest quality Indian restaurant in the area. Ruchi previously was considered the best, but Queen Spice are way ahead. All the dishes you would expect, but with a range of specials different to many other restaurants. I've lived in Birmingham and eaten in some of the highest rated restaurants in the curry triangle, and Queens is on a par. Fresh spices and delicate flavours (you can taste each ingredient in a dish) which makes a standard curry a great one. Visiting, you can grab a drink in Old Glossop's Queens Arms before your meal, then sit in comfortable surroundings for a delicious meal. Takeaway is quick to order and generally arriving in good time. Worth a visit or delivery.

Appreciate this is more for visits but felt the need to review based on a recent takeaway. I had the Balti Shaan which was spot on and the wife had the Chilli Chingri, her words “the best curry I have had in my entire life” and we have eaten a lot.Fair PlayJust ordered again

Nigel and Dave had lamb chops to start …… excellent as ever ….. I had Shami kebabs … absolutely gorgeous, so succulent …… best everWe had a Chicken Tikka Sizzler ….. superb …. Speciality Chicken Makani ….. all absolutely excellent went well with cheese naan and keema and onion rices ……. Have visited Queens Spice a few times now. The staff are lovely and the food is amazing, but the stand out for me is now clean this place is, it’s spotless and the toilets are the same too. The food is always piping hot and freshly cooked, they have a good selection plus lots of house specials. Would definitely recommend a visit here %..!!!!

Again the best curry I have ever had. really you have to try this. 100% consistent 100% the best. Great staff and they r ally care about the food. Wife's was slightly too spicy, they made a brand new dish just for her. Personally I like it tasty and hot. It's perfect.

Just been to Queen Spice for my Father’s Day meal 2 days early.Could not fault our meal, lovely food, great drinks and attentive service. We all need to support our local restaurants as they cannot survive without our support but we will all complain when they are gone.Get to Queen Spice, you will not regret it.

We visited this restaurant as we were staying at the Queens Arms Country pub and were so lucky that this restaurant was on the floor below us. We had dinner on a Wednesday evening and it was very quiet as it had only recently reopened after lockdown. The food was delicious and spicy the service was very attentive. A very enjoyable experience all round and very Covid friendly and felt safe.

Fantastic food, poppadoms, mixed platter, chicken chilli Balti. 4 of us plenty of choice 1 was vegetarian and really pleased with menu, all enjoyed food, great service and good selection of drinks. Price was a lot less than expected!

We visited the Queens Spice as part of my husbands birthday trip. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Can also enjoy a pint of the real ale from the Queens Arms.pub below, which we were staying at. A great place for us as we only has to.walk down a flight of stairs from our room to get to it. The food was equally delicious and all freshly prepared. Had chicken tikka karai with peshawari naan, wasn't too spicey but was really tasty. Please visit this restaurant as they need to build their business back up after lockdown and deserve the custom. Will definitely.visit agai if we are in the area

I would give this restaurant a 0 if I could. I ordered a vegetable biryani and was served chicken biryani which I didnt realise until I put some in my mouth. This is totally unacceptable. It is fortunate that I don't have any allergies as this place would be shut down. I felt very sick afterwards. My partner ordered a chicken balti which was the blandest curry he had ever had. This experience ruined our evening. Would not reccomend to anybody and if you have any allergies or are vegetarian, definitely AVOID.

We have eaten here in the past when visiting family but it’s been well over a year since we came. We had a family meal here recently and it was delicious. Every dish was tasty and the service was very good. It was very busy so glad we called in and booked. Will definitely be back.

Shami kebabs , Lambs chops both gorgeous, then Chicken tikka Sizzler with Samber sauce ..... cheesy naan and keema rice . Brilliant, just cooked hot and sizzling , really great food and service . Love it ❤️

stayed in glossop for the weekend and visited this restaurant,the food was amazing tandoori mixed grill was unreal the best i have ever had anywhere,all staff very friendly,added bonus proper drinks supporting a local proper pub,look forward to visiting again next time i am in the area

Delicious food without a doubt. We were on holiday and stayed locally so I ordered in advance and it was bang on time, with the added bonus of free poppadums. It was that good I ordered a Christmas Day takeaway, still the same quality despite a restaurant full of happy diners. Well recommended to all lovers of Indian food.

We stayed at the hotel for a night away from London and ended up trying the Indian on the middle floor. We tried the lobster and the korma, and both dishes were incredible! Fantastic hidden gem 🙌🏽

I've eaten in hundreds and Indian restaurants across the UK and have been to India more times than I've been to London. This place is definitely the best in Glossop, especially the prawn curries.

This place was highly rated, so decided to visit after bonfires night.What a bad choice!All curries were very sweet.Loaded with sugar which masked all the spices.Given the two star as the service was very attentive and couldn't fault it,but again the food really lets this restaurant Down.The taste was bland without seasoning,nans were pretty standard.Overall disappointing experience.

This is THE BEST Indian restaurant. Friendly,attentive staff. Abdul and his team make you feel very welcome.Food fab..we had King Prawn with Spinach, Chicken Jalfrezi with pilau rice and garlic nans (which are to die for!)

We Went here on last night with my husband.The guy behind the counter was so rude.I ordered my first item and then he said what else.No manners at all how to talk to the customer.He was very loud while speaking to his other colleagues.I wouldn't mind if the food was nice but it wasn't.The food was awful and cold.We aren't going back there again.

Out of all the Indian restaurants in glossop,this is the best(in my opinion). If you want to go as a family, go, if your a couple, go, if your a party go its is simply the best in glossop. All the food is amazing. There is nothing else to say about the aboit the food it is simply perfect. The only downside is the tables are not to big bit can just about fit all the food on bit over all this is the best india in glossop (in my opinion).Thanks queen spice simply the best

See the reviews and we were in the pub b&b that's attached to the restaurant. Great service as we walked in and immediately seen it was very cosy.Ordered quickly and found it was easier to pop to the pub down stairs ourselves rather than relay a drinks order. I did not mind doing this. We ordered popadoms and some dishes off the the special menu.Tasted good and were crisp to eat.Meals arrived quick and fully packed with flavour. Not sure when our chicken had seen the tandoori oven as I don't think this is done in the restaurant but still tasted good. We ordered a chili and cheese nan bread but only got the chili one, we explained this at the end and they gave us a fresh one to take away. Bill was £40 for popadoms, dips, nan, 3 curries and 2 rices. I'd say good value and as I said before very tasty.

Best curry house in Glossop. They must have an a amazing chef here, all dishes are very tasty, well cooked, well presented and you would never be left hungry or disappointed, this place really is full marks. Love the shadow on the wall from the lighting....

Just had a lovely supper whilst visiting family in the area. The meal was quite lovely, the owner very attentive but not intrusive and the atmosphere unique combination of English Pub and Indian decor.

Excellent food , very friendly and great service . Mixed starter was lovely , really well cooked , tasty and great variety. Cheese naan was to die for , oozy melting cheese inside , perfectly cooked . As always all our food was great. Thank you to Abdul and all the staff for a lovely evening xx

i stayed at the Queens arms for a night and was delighted to hear the first floor was an indian restaurant. As it was raining and near at hand I gave it a go and was delighted that I did. Although not licensed the pub was down stairs and the food was exceptional and very good value.

Ten out of ten. Tandoori chicken off the bone jalfrezi. On fire. Hot. Amazing. One of my favourites. Lovely curry followed by drinks and quiz night in the pub downstairs (Thursdays). Thank you Abdul and staff.

Mediocre food and sullen waiter

We went with friends for a pre new year celebration, all the staff were lovely, providing a friendly and personal service. Food was outstanding, the lamb chop starter a highlight. If your looking for a tasty, reasonably priced meal look no further than the Queen Spice. Would recommend to my friends and family.

Queen Spice was busy , as I would expect, as it was Saturday night , but service and food was as excellent as ever . The Shami Kebeb is to die for , as are the Lamb chops . Cheese naan was gorgeous, freshly made and oozing flavour , Chicken Tikka Samber was lovely.... I can not fault any of the food ... it’s all really tasty and excellent value . The staff are very attentive and really friendly... Thank you to Abdul and his staff once again , a fabulous meal xxxx

Very good and tasty food above the Pub. Nice and observant staff. And best of all - Real Craft Ale from the pub were served to the dishes.

The food and service here is amazing this is my favourite curry house. I would recommend here to anyone with the added advantage of great beer from down stairs.

My girlfriend and I went here based on trip advisor reviews. When we arrived we were told to sit wherever and then ignored for 10 minutes despite clearly looking around for service and catching the two younger guys eyes on a few occasions they carried on talking to each other while standing around doing nothing, ( there were only 3 other tables eating). Finally the older gentleman saw we were looking around still waiting to order so said something to one of the younger ones sternly. The guy then skulked over to us and said “go on then, what do you want “! We ordered and the chicken dishes were excellent but the rice wasn’t great and the garlic naan we ordered wasn’t a garlic naan and was orange instead, when we told our useless rude waiter this he just said “ that’s garlic naan .. it always comes out like that “ , rather than just admit he’d made a mistake and told the chef to cook a plain naan. His unbelievable rudeness continued right to the end when he took our money and walked off without saying a word or offering a receipt! All in all a really unpleasant experience and will certainly never be back there! Avoid!

We live locally and regularly visit. The food and service are amazing. If you like curry you will not be disappointed I am currently addicted to the tandoori chicken. You also have the bonus of a great pub and beers down stairs.

Can't fault the location, on the first floor of the Queens Arms, so you have an ideal combination of very good quality beer and fine Indian food. Good selection of curries to choose from and good service. Thought the Onion bhajis were ok but nothing out of the ordinary, but had one of the Bangladeshi fish curries which was excellent. Good quantities too. Give it a try.
