Great local pub, which is sadly closing down due to a lack of support from the locals. Chris and Betty run a great Thai restaurant and takeaway.

The Thai cuisine food is the star here. The chef makes some wonderful dishes but often runs out of ingredients which can limit you depending on when you go. Some consistency would do wonders. The bar is pretty dismal and selection of beer and ales is poor. Staff are friendly enough but the place could be alot better.

The Royal Oak in Glossop (on the A57 at the western end of the Snake Pass) is a lovely little pub which offers excellent Asian food, friendliness and comfortable surroundings. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Best Thai food outside of Thailand! Welcoming, friendly pub with a cosy open fire, pool table and seriously amazing food, cooked to order at a great price. It's dog friendly and perfect for hikers and cyclists coming down from the Peaks (or those coming to meet them - there's parking!). Nice beer gardens at front and back, and a good selection of beers. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

We stopped here on our way to Sheffield via the snake pass as it was recommended to us by another pub down the road where we could not get a meal at as they were fully booked. I am glad we did as both my partner and I have probably had one of the best Thai meal ever and the chef and owner's were welcoming and made us feel right at home. Great fresh and tasty Thai food and lovely atmosphere and ale too!! Thank you for a great meal "Royal Oak" and highly recommend it....and we will be back when we return to Sheffield via Glossop!

A nice venue but £4.75 for a flat white which wasn’t a true flat white is extortionate. If you’re going to charge more than an artisan coffee costs in London, make sure it’s the real deal! Too expensive and not good enough to justify the cost.

Missing items, small portions, not nice....how people think this is a decent Chinese is beyond me. Couldn't care less when I rang about missing items, wanted me to have it next time.....there won't be a next time ..... Avoid if you want a decent meal

Out for the day and decided on chips in a beautiful area. Found the chippy. Very old building in heart of the village. Ordered fish and chips which were freshly cooked, the owner was very informative about the village and past tv stars. Interesting man to talk to. Batter was lovely and crisp fish good and chips great not a soggy mess, will visit again, need to keep those small places going and in a lovely location

Eight of us went for a meal upstairs here at the Indian restaurant. We all left full and very happy and even two of us had a doggy bag. From when we arrived we had a good time, good choice of drinks available, we sat and chatted for a short while, landlords came to say hello and before we knew it, it was time to head upstairs to our table. They already had a larger table in who were tucking into food that smelled great. We were given menus and left to peruse. Once we had all ordered the food didn’t take to long to come out and myself and partner had a sharing platter which was incredible. Portion sizes were good and I don’t think we had an unclear plate between us. One of the guests ordered all their food without coriander and they were great at adhering to this. The main courses also did not disappoint, we had a good selection of a chicken tikka masala and chicken curry to the more spicy dishes of a vindaloo. The rice and naan’s were also good and the cost was not too bad either. I would recommend this place for a nice curry if you are partial to the Indian cuisine. Staff were friendly, child friendly too as we had a 7 year old with us. My only criticism I can give, is having to go downstairs for drinks but it didn’t hinder our experience as we just timed it right between courses.
