Called here for Sunday lunch and was very disappointed. For a start the food was served on cold plates All the vegetables were burnt. I pointed this out to the staff but got no apology. Needless to say I will not be having food here again. I suggest you get a proper cook.

This was the worst tasting and smallest lasagne I have ever had and it cost £14.95!! It consisted of 1 sheet of pasta as a base, a couple of spoonfuls of mince meat topped with another pasta sheet and topped with cheese. The oval dish it was served in was barely 1 inch deep was about the size you might serve a side of veg in. The cheese topping was baked hard and the whole meal dry and tasteless. It was served with a small amount of salad and 2 small pieces of garlic bread which was soft as though it had been warmed in the microwave. As small as it was it tasted so awful that I left half of it. If you put the actual cost of food used to make it you'd be pushed to get it to add up to £1.50! We hadn't been to the Queens for a quite while so we thought we'd give it a try for an early Saturday night meal with my son and his partner. The quality of food has really gone down since our last visit and we definitely won't be going back again any time soon. The Queens are really going to have to up their game and supply edible food at a realistic price. The pub was busy when we got there and there was only one man and a boy cooking in the kitchen. Shocking tiny meal at a premium price. Never again!!!

We ended up here because it was a Monday evening and we had our dog with us. The menu was limited so I ordered the beef lasagna. When it arrived, I could see it looked odd- the top layer was literally melted grated cheddar. One forkful and I knew it wasn’t lasagna as I knew it- no bechamel sauce, just off-tasting mince and the cheddar, and a layer of pasta. When the barman came to collect the plates it was obvious that I hadn’t enjoyed my meal and he said he would get the chef! Not a scenario I would have chosen, but the chef came out and was very confrontational, asking me to explain how to make bechamel, telling me he was award winning, that he was Italian. In the end the bar man had to pull him away, as there was no positive way it was going to end. The whole situation left me feeling very disturbed, intimidated and hungry !

AVOID! Stayed in Bulls head and booked breakfast at 9am in this place. Turned up in the morning the young grumpy lady said we should be in at 8.30am. Apparently she was not happy us making her work overtime but clearly that’s their own faults in communication with their colleagues from the sister company. Then she kept ignoring us while she was the only servant in the room. In the end we just gave up since it was simply disrespectful and we felt unwelcome by this place. To the little angel - If you don’t know how to treat customers with respect and kindness, do everyone a little favour by just quitting the job rather than ruining the reputation of your local business. Certainly don’t recommend anyone to stay here.

Lovely inside loads of room and very friendly- food on the whole was ok however myself and my mum had the sandwich of the day which just said “turkey with side order of fries” expected a nice slice of turkey on a proper sandwich but it came on a baton stick smothered in sweet chilli sauce which spoiled it for us and the turkey was very dry under all the sauce . Note to self to check details before ordering! But note to the pub perhaps they need to explain what it comes as /with as not everyone likes spice on their food

Awful. We waited 55 minutes for a chicken burger, a fish and chips and 2 starters. They didn’t apologise or give us any updates on why it was taking so long. The place was half empty too so no obvious reason as to why they would take so long. We were seated close to the bar so we could hear how 2 other tables went to complain too. One of them was “lucky” and got a discount as they had been waiting for even longer than us. Once we were finally served we asked if we could have some ketchup and mayo. The waitress forgot about it so we had to once again approach the bar and ask for it. Food was okay. A bit dry.

Awful experience here came for some drinks and lunch. Lunch took around an hour to come out and during this we was not informed with why it was taking so long and we also wasn’t apologised to. It did seem like they was not bothered. This is all happened whilst the pub being less than half empty. There was also other people complaining. Food was ok but bland and overcooked. When we went to pay the bill at the end there was no apology from them. My advice is if u can’t handle a service shut the kitchen. Down and don’t do food as it’s clear they are not capable of running a food service.

Service was awful. My partners food arrived and was stone cold, when asking for it to be heated up or replaced the waitress was rude. The replacement arrived and the fish was watery, on top of this my own food didn’t arrive until 15/20 minutes later by which time my partner had already finished. The sides that we ordered did not arrive so we got our money back for these instead. Would not recommend unless you enjoy waiting an hour for sub par food and service.

This was a great local pub with decent beer and happy staff but things change. Its still OK with a decent selection of beer (try the jaipur but don't drive after) but it's definitly dead midweek, despite the great weather. On our recent visit with two friends we were the only people there at around 7:30 and by 9:30 when we left there were two people in the pub. Probably a sign of the times Things are looking up. Called for a quiet pint late Friday afternoon and found the pub much busier than previous visit, not packed but generally busy. Beer selection remains good but no food Rumour has it that the food was good but the pub doesnt appear to serve food anymore. The great Indian restaurant above the pub with beer from the pub remains and is worth a visit. Called on a Saturday night to pick up a curry from queen spice restaurant, above the pub. We were there about an hour and initially the pub was very busy, probably due to the sport on TV, but got quieter as we left, still plenty of people though. Still no food being served, but the beer remains very good

Don't usually write reviews on here but this was the worst dining experience i think i’ve ever had, the wait for food in an almost empty pub was around 45 mins for my meal to come out and then about 15 mins later for my kids meals, my partners sausage wasn't cooked all the way through so was inedible, no offer of replacement or refund when we told them, the two roast beefs came out as roast turkeys, when they returned as roast beefs the veg and mash were stone cold, a side i ordered never materialised but was still on the bill until i notified them, and my burger was dry, tough and just tasted bad. From start to finish it was poor and not exactly cheap either.

The food was excellent but I am angry at this next part. I ordered a burger with my family it came with chips and coleslaw. The food tasted amazing until it came to the burger. The cheap plastic that comes with cheese slices melted in my burger and it was only noticed till I got to the middle. I instantly stood up and passed it to the waitress and told her that this is made me sick thinking I have ate some of the contaminated food. I was hoping they offer to make me another burger or refund just that portion of the meal but said “we can take half of the price off the burger but we can’t because you already paid for it “ so offered me a free coke whilst still only half way through one already. This is a sure sign that they do not care about anything other than money. They could have refunded me as I paid cash which is simpler than card for a refund as it’s in the till. My burger was ruined I’m sorry but every other pub in the area would have been very helpful in making my experience better and offered to do something better than a coke.

We arrived on a busy Thursday afternoon, to find we had mistakenly booked our two night stay, for the wrong year! The two young ladies behind the bar were an absolute delight, speaking to the owner and resolving the matter very quickly, we were allocated delux room 3 at the top of the building. We spent the evening with friends that live locally enjoying a delicious meal, home made steak and onion pie, that was absolutely delicious, and all fresh vegetables with it! Proper good quality and reasonably priced high end pub grub. We rhen joined in with a quiz night, a lively and very friendly crowd of locals made us feel very welcome, the bar has a very friendly relaxed atmosphere, dog friendly and made for a fabulous evening. Our room was exceptionally good, absolute spotless, well appointed and very large. There was a travel cot, sofa bed(with extra bedding available) Microwave , TV, hairdryer. Very good quality bathroom products and lots of them! For a pub with rooms , the quality and thought put into the rooms would put a lot of hotels to shame. On both mornings the breakfasts were of an exceptionally high standard. The chef / waitress was extremely professional and courteous, rhe food was of a very high standard and very well presented. The staff, were without exception an absolute credit to the owners, All were friendly courteous and eager to help in any way possible. A brilliant place to stay, we will definitely return again. Homemade food, really tasty🙌 fish & chips is the perfect balance of batter❤️. Steak and Stilton pie is a great mix of flavors if you like blue cheese. Overall a great place to have lunch or dinner.

This pub does a great vegan burger and has a great range of vegan options. Staff are friendly and service is great. A good range of beers. Would definitely visit again!

£20 odd pound for a sandwich a scone and a couple of soft drinks! The cheesy scone made my wife sick. The lady behind us also complained about the taste. The “homemade” millionaire shortbread had no caramel on so was basically shortbread. If you are going to charge ridiculous prices at least give a little value. For what we paid we could have had a pub lunch each and drink! Never again. People of tired of being ripped off with substandard foods!
