On a sunny day, a beautiful view over the reservoir overlooking a lot of green countryside as well. The food as quite close to Thai authenticity, strong flavours as well. Green curry chicken and pad see yew noodles were generally good. For the price, service was a bit basic though. Tables weren’t properly cleaned as well on the patio - better effort could be made here. Drinks are good, but expensive (5 GBP each!).

Aware they open at 12.00 arrived at 11.54 saw a customer come out of the restaurant and go to sit on the decking. There were already other people sat there. As I approached the door a member of staff came out carrying crockery to the decking area. I set foot inside to be met by a man shouting and waving his arms at me that they were not open. I politely advised that people we already sat outside to which he continued to shout and wave his arms "not open yet !" Obviously making too much money if he can be rude to customers. All he had to say politely was "we are not open yet. However if you wish to take a seat outside we shall come to take your order shortly." Very rude. DISGUSTED !!! Had to give 1 star to get this posted however they do not even deserve this

The location is spectacular. There is adequate parking. You can't tell that you are just off the A628 (Woodhead Pass), one of the busiest roads locally. We ate inside, but there is a considerable amount of seating outside overlooking the reservoir. There is an extensive Thai-based menu; beware of over-ordering, as the portions, even for starters, are generous. The food we had was well-cooked and presented. It is competitively priced. Note that there is no alcohol licence and a corkage charge applies if you bring your own. .

The Arnfield Fly Fishery Cafe & Thai Restaurant can give you extremely the surprise of signature quality of Thai cuisine that you are worth to have a taste one day. Yes, it will take a long driving from the City centre of Manchester to overthere by 30 minutes. Or by public transport, you will have to get on a ride of the blue line Metro to Asthon-under-lyne. Then you change the bus route 237 to Matthew Close. By public transport, it will take almost one and half hour. Having a five - minute walk, got off from the bus stop and when walking along the countryside passage to the Arnfield Reservior, you will be attracted by a vintage and small English hut where this Café situates. The surroundings of the Café are a breath-taking scenery, like the dream land of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. When at arrival, you are firstly greeted by a flock of teals wondering in reservior watery echoing you the beauty of nature. The Café is resting quietly by the rim side of Arnfield Reservior. You will be over-whelmed by its noble outlook of this English hut. The Arnfield Café is run by two young Hong Kongers with three helping hands of Thai lady chefs. Walking through the entrance and passing the kitchen, there is an attached conservatory, where the dining hall is. This conservatory is built with a glass roof top to conduct sun beam shining very brightly in this dinning hall. There is a fireplace and with sunlight, it keeps a warm enviroment to guests while enjoying their food in winter. Sitting in the dining hall where just adjacent to the reservoir side, guests can have a glance of the entire reservoir. It gives you a transquit feeling of an escape from the busy hub of city. There is a good news to spicy or curry gourmets. You will have choices of "green, red, panang massaman curry" with the combination choices of ingredients- chicken, duck, beef or mutton. 1.You can order the skew and satay of chicken, beef or mutton and the Thai green papaya salad to be the starters to arouse up your appetite. 2.One of the main courses is the green curry with choice of duck. This is highly recommended for the people who can't have spicy or hot curry food but are fond of sweet & mild green curry whereas it is good for gourmets who are facinated by curry food at a low degree of spiciness. The duck meat is so tender! It is also fabulous to have a plate of jasime rice pouring with the green curry. You will never forget this fantastic and mouth- watering tast to your tast buds. 3. Why not have the Pad Thai to be another main course. This was well - cooked by the Thai lady chefs. It was scrumptious and made us empty up the dish. What is amazing that it is terrific you can enjoy chatting with friends while dining in neat conservatory room aside by the charming view of the reserviour. Not finish your lunch or dinner yet, the Hong Kong style-mlike tea is a must to try. Particularly for any Hong Kongers, it can recall your homesick as L' Estrangers in United Kingdom. The total we paid per head was £18. Things to be bared in mind are:- a. the Café is closed on every Monday and Tuesday, It had been made known that the business days and hours will be changed soon. b. if you take a public bus, you must sure the time table of route 237 to ascertain your returned bus, c. Arnfield is in the countryside, to call the Uber will cost you about £30 to City Centre, d. don't fail to make a reservation before you go due to the limited tables. Ring before you go!

Fantastic location, only had coffee but food looked great. I'm giving it 3 stars as the picturesque outside Decking is very dated & dangerous. A lot of the slats are weathered & dangerous. Railings near the water were missing & we had a 3 year old with us who likes to explore. Definitely will visit again & hopefully the outside decor will be renewed or replaced. I do however still recommend the food & service.

The Thai cuisine by the lake is believed to be one of the selling points. There is a lake view in the morning and a stove in the evening. The overall taste is quite satisfactory. There is no coconut milk added to the tom yam soup, which does not reduce its deliciousness. The hot and sour taste is just right, and it is better when drunk hot. Tongcai with pork is slightly salty, but the charred pork flavor is very delicious and worth a try. Instead, I was disappointed with the Thai curry shrimp, which is difficult to comment on.

Hidden Secret Jingtai Cuisine The entrance of the restaurant is very low-key, you will miss it if you are not paying attention! Just remember to turn onto the one-way uphill road from the national highway and you'll be on the left less than 100 meters away. In terms of dishes, it simply restores the flavor of Thai cuisine in Kowloon City, Hong Kong. Especially for Tom Yum soup, you can choose the spiciness and coconut milk. Cooked in a hot pot, it was so hot that I accidentally drank a few more bowls🤭 The price is also very economical. Dining for 4 people with beautiful scenery and delicious food is very satisfying😌

We booked last minute when our original plan fell through. Online booking worked really well and the text confirmation was great. We had 2 starters and 4 main meals, all were very tasty and cooked to order with large portions. The sticky rice was very sticky and the sauces in all the curry dishes were spicy but not overly hot - just as we requested when we ordered. The restaurant wasn't busy but a large family group was just leaving when we arrived. Super setting, it felt like we were guests at a private house which was really nice. Would definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Exceptional Thai restaurant, perfect location overlooking the reservior and gentle relaxing atmosphere. This was our second visit and the food was even more delicious than what I remembered. All the food was outstanding quality served with a wonderful fresh salad and dressing. Trust me, everything is freshly made to order and served with pride, love and care. For mains we shared a heart shaped coconut rice, King Prawn Massam curry, the flavours in this are out of this world! Highly recommended and a cashew nut and king prawn stir fry. Very generous portions indeed and all finger licking tasty . Lastly their delicious coconut ice cream, coconutty, chewy and soooo creamy. Thai restaurant overseeing the lake (?) and situated at the start/end of the 2 hour hike, which makes it a great place to have a coffee or food after a short hike. Serves tea/ coffee, cakes, ice cream and thai food. Ordered a massaman curry with coconut rice as well as a thai milk tea. > massaman curry doesn't come with rice, so you need to order that separately. Portion was decent and a lot of meat. Was a little salty for my preference, but if you have it with rice, it's fine. Overall taste was good. > coconut rice: normal. couldn't taste the coconut due to the strong taste of the curry, so sticky rice might've been a better option. > thai milk tea: a bit sweet but nice. not too strong.

Maybe because I had amazing Thai foods from my city and I’ve been to Thailand so I had high expectations for this restaurant. The foods were pretty average, I enjoyed the Thai red milk tea the most 😅 But the portion size of the food platter was big enough for all three of us so it’s pretty decent. What can be improved - the Tom Yum can be slightly more sour (personal preference) (This is just my opinion, you might really enjoy it!)

Delicious Thai food, really tasty and freshly made. It was such a surprise to have this in a scenic location next to the reservoir. Ample parking and a great walking location. Coffee and alcohol were also served. A lovely spot to rest after hiking with a drink and food.

We called in for a couple of drinks on a night in Buxton. There was a great buzz to the place. Didn’t have to wait long at the bar. Prices were good - we tried the titanic ale and gin.

Great decor and atmosphere, food was nice, have a limited Sunday menu for veggies or vegans. Very good portions, don’t do tea or coffee but said they will do soon, great people serving as well
