We stopped here for a drink and chips, a great little place, a fantastic atmosphere and the staff really friendly. The food caller had a good sense of humour, making people chuckle. It's just a cool place to hang out a bit after a good ride out!

What a difference three years makes. Our previous visit was delightful, with a warm atmosphere and great food. Today, however, was a complete letdown. The pub was filled with extremely offensive language from the bar patrons, making it impossible to enjoy ourselves. The service was equally poor; we were promised menus but were ultimately ignored until we were heading out the door. The bar staff's focus was solely on the noisy group at the bar. This once-loved pub has lost its appeal, and we're unlikely to return."

This building has such character and we love the open fire and the positioning of it overlooking the village. The Sunday buffet had plenty of choice but the meat was cut wafer thin and seemed a bit mean. Customer service was practically non existent. I can’t comment on the menu as we only had Sunday roast buffet and there was a good choice of meat and veg. Good value for money. A good time was had by all. I hope the new owners can make a success of it.

I seldom bother writing reviews of places that I have been to that have been poor as I prefer to be positive - but we go to Foxton Locks regularly and this place annoyed me. First up, the coffee is poor. They have a push button coffee machine. Really guys? Everywhere on the high street has an expresso machine. All the other local places have one too. So why not you? Better coffee and at £2.50 for an Americano I expect an expresso machine made coffee. They can’t do hot milk with the coffee. What? No microwave, no milk chafing machine, no steam wand, nothing. Cold milk only. Guys, it’s 2020. If we can put man on the moon we can get hot milk in Foxton. “Sorry it’s a busy time”. So put the menus on each table so that customers don’t have to ask for one and it saves staff time. Get the staff to carry a tray when they go into the restaurant so that they can clear crockery from tables before they return to the counter. Pop a small damp cloth on that tray so staff can immediately wipe clean the table that they have just cleared. Get the staff in for 60 mins training very soon so that they have a clue about what they are trying to do. They are lovely, they are willing but they need a small amount of training and shown what “good staff” look like and do.

I found The Queen's Head to be quite underwhelming and not at all reflective of the social media hype surrounding it. The food was average at best—not bad, but certainly nothing special or worth going out of your way for. The pub was almost empty during our visit, which left it lacking any real atmosphere or buzz. While it's a dog-friendly spot, which is a nice touch, there are plenty of other pubs nearby that offer a livelier vibe and far better food. Overall, it didn’t live up to expectations.

We have had a few lunches there in the last month or so. We always have the same things, Lasagna and Gammon always piping hot and tasty. Deserts are very tasty. Prices are very reasonable. Lovely quite village , easy to park and a good spot to have a tour of the Welland valley

We booked for a lunch to fuel ourselves before walking round the locks. The conservatory part felt a bit dated and decor was tacky, also our table was dirty. I was dripped on through the roof but was able to shuffle to the side to avoid this but there was a bit of water on floor. Staff very friendly and attentive as they could be with how busy it was. We waited a good 45/50 minutes for food so were very hungry when food did arrive. My husband had a burger, which he said was okay but nothing special. Lettuce in it was brown and it seemed odd to have raw red onion in it. Chips very good though. I had the homemade chilli in a Yorkshire pudding, it was okay but again nothing special, I felt overpriced at £13.95. Presentation on both meals was very basic. Drinks also seemed expensive. Overall a bit disappointed, wouldn’t return anytime soon.
