Lovely relaxing day out. Few hours at Foxton locks whilst dogs were being groomed by Daisy. The burgers my wife and I had were superb 👌 Lovely fresh salad and a burger cooked to both our likings. Thank you 😊

Visited Bridge 61 on a cold December morning. The plan was to have a coffee before returning home. The welcoming open fire, smell of food cooking and friendly greeting of the ladies behind the counter easily persuaded us to stay a bit longer. I’m glad we did. We had excellent bacon cobs (rolls) and bowls of chips. It was pure home cooking, nothing pretentious just good, honest food. After being offered a sample of the locally brewed Langton beer we were persuaded to stay a little longer than intended and drink a couple of pints. I’ve now read some adverse reviews of Bridge 61, I don’t recognise any of them. The building is unpretentious but that’s fine for clientele it seeks to serve. If you want somewhere more upmarket surroundings then look elsewhere. As far as relates to the staff, we have no complaints whatever. We were welcomed and treated in a friendly manner throughout our visit. This is a super place. Unique in my experience and I will certainly go back.

Having visited this establishment I was absolutely astonished at how the women/owner/manager spoke to customers. From being almost pleasant one minute to a ranting tyrant using profanities the next. How no one has not given the same back to her yet is astounding. Just be on your guard when you go as you never know which person will serve you, the pleasant side or the twisted bitter harridan.

Nice cafe bar located at the bottom of Foxton Locks. We had a couple of beers seated outside and watched the boats go by. You go into the shop to order and collect your order from the hatch. They do have indoor seating but as it was a nice day everyone was sat outside. There are some tables and chairs along the canal or there is a garden with plenty of tables to sit at. As a pub, this place is a top notch little venue, good real ales, real cider, ok food, allows dogs, and in the winter months it has an open fire, and is always warm. The venue struggles on busy weekends and event days due to its size, but it is best of an evening when the crowds have gone home. It is the pubs character which is its selling point, along with some of its colorful locals.

Here at Bridge 61 you can obtain well kept beer, basic but very edible food, at good realistic prices. Enjoy warm camaraderie, a lovely atmosphere and have a thoroughly good time. No wonder all the 'Waterways' volunteers meet here !Bye the way, should you be a boater there is a quality launderette and showers available. A really hot shower will only set you back £1.20. We were looking after a bind dog called Dillon and decided to walk down a canal towpath to avoid obstructions. Eventually reached the canalside pub named Bridge 61 where there were two bowls of water for dogs! Weather pleasant so we sat in the lower beer garden surrounded by apple tress. Ordered mugs of tea and pulled pork wraps with salad. The very bright young mad taking the order advised us that we would be 'called'. Took the mugs of tea out to the beer garden then returned to hear our number called. The wraps were well presented on a tray and the 'chef' added a small bowl of apple sauce. We enjoyed the generous portions and the apple sauce was a nice touch. The food was excellent and a very generous portion. Really great atmosphere, lots of different people wandering around. Boat trip departs just outside the beer garden and an interesting location overlooking the boat basin at the bottom of Foxton Locks. We will definitely return in summer with our grandchildren..

We had moored our narrowboat for the night just by the famous Foxton locks, and thought we would have a bite to eat at bridge 61. Went in at 5pm to see what time they finished serving food. Was told by a rather sharp member of staff 9pm but they would prefer it if we were there by 7, as they may stop serving if it got quiet. Asked if I could take one of the simple laminate menus over to our boat for my husband to look at, bringing it back later. A frown and the response 'well make sure you do then'. Felt like a child. Back later and ordered the food, only us eating at the time. You order at the bar and collect a ticket then they call out the number when it's ready. Despite us sitting on a table directly outside the window (with a hatch) where the staff were congregated, I was made to walk right round and into the bar to collect the food. About four staff standing round doing nothing, smirking at me. When I asked if I could order another drink I was pointed round to another hatch and the same man walked around and took my order! It was like a comedy sketch. On the plus side the food was ok. But I felt quite uncomfortable there and would not go again.

Went in for a drink and food. Good choice of food. Only no chips on menu. We had cheese ploughman's. Quite nice but different to what I have had before. Very tasty. Not badly priced though. No waitress service. U are given a number and u collect when called. Dogs are allowed if behaved. Also take cards. Worth a visit as close to locks

Pleasant spot beside the canal where you can see narrowboats. Simple place and pretty good value. Worth popping in.

This provides a good selection of hot and cold food with some great ales in a unique location. However, my only quibble was that one member of staff seemed a little grumpy. We tried to order two ploughmans and were greeted with a blunt "weve got no ploughmans". Then why not put it on the board then????

I just popped in for a lunch time snack. I only wanted a jacket potato and a hot chocolate drink. The jacket potato was large and I requested grated cheese and baked beans. I must say it was very nice although quite expensive - £5.00 for a spud with trimmings and £2.30 for a small mug of hot chocolate. It was interesting inside and to see the locals who pop in and to observe the decor. A great experience all round.

Had a great pint in here with family. Bar manager very friendly, location was cosy, and decor was brilliantly canal themed. Can't comment on food. Excellent pub for a drink.

stopped for a hot chocolate x 3, nearly £7, a little bit steep, room to sit outside and watch the boats, a bowl of water for the dogs, what more could you ask for.

4 of us went for a lovely walk and thought we'd stop for lunch. It's a shame we chose here..looked good, great location.Unfortunately the food was really poor.We had to order at the bar and collect ourselves.Terrible pie, sausage roll and pasty...just heated (microwave?) and put on a plate.Bacon roll...cheapest type of hot dog type roll smeared with margarine.Had no idea this type of food is still served...it shouldn't be!

Called in for last 3 days lunch and evening.Great warm pub which is great in February. Fantastic real ales and reasonably priced food. Couldn't stop eating the chicken balti. A real locals pub. Don't believe any negative reviews. If you like a proper pub this is for you otherwise go to a trendy winebar.

A warm pub on a cold day. We came in to warm up and get a snack. We had eggs and mash, and a cornish pasty, although this was warmed in a microwave oven. These cost £7.60 which seemed a bit steep. The mug of tea was £1.70.

They didn't know what an egg mayo cob was?! The warmer up'er thought it was fried egg with mayo! And the tuna cob we had and tea cost £5.45? You've got to be joking? The food was average - we don't live in London! How awful - next time we will bring our own food!

It was very nice , tho every time we go there seems to be no matcha . If we are just going at the wrong time I don't know but other than that it was very enjoyable. A lot of seating and not too busy .

I've been to everywhere in town for breakfast or lunch and yet I keep coming back here. Why? Nothing else in my opinion has beaten this lovely place. The toast is not your average frozen loaf, sausag

Nice staff and nice coffee. Slightly tired feeling furnishings-wise inside so much preferable to sit outside, anyway. Unfortunately, Costa seems to attract heavy smokers that hog their outside space.
