Sugarloaf Wetherspoon in Harborough

The food and service gets worse and worse in this place. The food was just thrown on the plate with no care, chips were barely warm and the Korean chicken had hardly any sauce on them. You were lucky to find a chicken piece with sauce.

Nice place; good class of local customers - including some seniors.

Alway go for breakfast, always get the food in a quick manner and always enjoyable

I highly recommend this pub its. Very cosy & inviting with nice barstaff & great food, Attend on certain night for deals on the meals. Tue steak night, Wed burger night Thurs curry night I ate here 4 evenings in a row, the food was cooked and severed as it's described, I never left a thing on my plate except some fat cut off of my steaks 😘. I thoroughly enjoy my time in The Sugar Loaf. The staff were all totally professional except 1 young dark-haired lad who thought he job was beneath him. I had a breakfast 1 day also ate a classic steak, an all-day breakfast, a double American burger with cheese & to top it off a superb beef madras, a hot garlic nan & 2 poppadoms. Which completed a whole week of dinners while working away from home and living out of hotels, 😉😁

The food at the sugar loaf is really good. I enjoyed the curry and beer meal deals as well as the mega breakfast too. The drink prices are really cheap too. The staff were really friendly and helpful too. The atmosphere was always energetic and really cheerful too. It can get quite noisy at the sugar loaf when it was at really busy times of the day which were usually friday and saturday evenings or in the weekday afternoon but I would usually always have an great afternoon and evening when visiting the sugar loaf.

Nah. Not impressed. Food really not good. Second Weatherspoons I've eaten in recently and wished I hadn't. I would only have drinks next time, shame, as food used to be good.

What a great atmosphere, Dan is the most excellent host, professional and great company. Wonderful ‘banter’ with Dan and the rest of the crew. Happy Days.

Great place, usual fantastic prices and app orders are delivered really quickly. Although it's always busy and packed, we are always able to find a seat somewhere.

Food was nice but had to leave early because the pub was cold, our legs was numb.

Today, was first time l felt that Wetherspoon brand has lost it’s way at The sugar loaf Market Harborough. We normal make a Bee line to all Wetherspoon in all city centres because they provide the best Bramley apple crumble that is Gluten-free but at this Wetherspoon l have never felt so unwelcomed. I stood at the bar for a good 15 minutes and never got a look or acknowledgement by anyone behind the bar. They kept serving other people around me. We left, thinking poor brand service.

Two of us visited The sugar loaf, both had the 10oz gammon it was very good especially considering the price, have paid a lot more in restaurants and the food no better than here. Chips were good and hot and the eggs cooked just right. The only downside being some of the tables needed a good wipedown, overall experience good as were the beers we had.

Din, dingy, depressing. Ok so it was a Monday night but there were about 6 people in there. Went to order lager, most of them were out of stock. Nuff said.

Great place to have a meal and just enjoy

Went on Thursday 6/9/24 the place was busy but was served within a few minutes the drinks were served lovely and cold which was brilliant, we sat on the raised floor which ment that as the doors were open we had a cool breeze coming through ( brilliant) the food came and was cooked lovely and we cleaned our plates. I just wished that there was more chips but could not fault the service for either the food or drinks. We had a great time thanks

Absolutely appalling service , I went in this afternoon 28/082024 a younger guy on the bar completely ignored me. Only one other customer and he was waiting for some ice. The barman never even acknowledged me but instead was more interested in pouring drinks for app customers and checking the screen . I had no choice but to walk out and go elsewhere and as I did this heard a sarcastic goodbye from the bar area I am happy to take this up with a senior manager at the Sugar Loaf and more than happy to confirm the colleague involved. This is not acceptable and I waited patiently for several minutes before I gave up. I am a regular at the Sugar Loaf and have never experienced service as poor as this before

Good value pub in this market town. Food on the whole is pretty good. Drinks are very reasonably priced.

Very nice interior to this pub with local historical photos and information on the walls. Great outdoor space at the back and to the side. The door at the back of the pub which was near to where we sat was banging when it closed. The staff were using it so it was quite frequent.

Come for the great service and drinks... Food is cheap for a reason

In reference to all the other branch chain pubs, thir one is as good as any I have visited. The food, service is always good.

Its OK, exactly as expected for a Wetherspoons. Much better places in Harborough, but all more expensive. Still great value.

Bar staff are a bit slow to serve. Not observing who should be served next so people who should be served first feel ignored. Coffee was not very warm today and no toilet roll in the toilet when I went. Otherwise food and drink okay. Reasonable prices

You can't beat a good Spoons. Plenty of staff when I visited so there was no waiting at the bar. Food arrived promptly and was actually hot. The BBQ burger was pretty tasty. Pleasant and polite staff, good pub food and fair prices, what more could you want 😀

Well positioned on Market Harborough High Street. Plenty of tables and rapid service. We had a lovely oddly timed lunch.

Just stopped here for a quick pint while waiting 40 mins for next x-country bus. Pint of strongbow for under £3! Happy days 😊

The Sugar Loaf is a perfectly good Weatherspoons pub. Great value, good food and the guest ales are great. I've been in there at least 20 times in the past year and have not had a bad meal or pint so far.

It's a spoons..great pub, you know exactly what you're getting which is decent ale, decent food at a really decent price

Needed to get meals at odd times. The Sugar Loaf was the perfect place. Great value as per Wetherspoon's and rapid service we needed to beat the car park time.

Typical Wetherspoons . Had a bottle of 0.5% "real" ale Adnams.Forget it was revolting.

I like Spoons pubs, this one was OK, large inside, service adequate, certainly don't rush! Lots of young children inside, which I don't mind, but felt like a creche as they obviously knew the staff well. We were passing through Mkt Harborough, so probably won't be back to this pub. Rating: OK, been in better Spoons pubs..

A regular haunt. Never had a bad visit. A favourite spoons. Looking forward to the next time.

The drinks were nice. One of the staff members, I don’t know her name, started talking bad things about me and my friend who were just there to have a drink to another member of staff. She brought over three bowls of ice cream we were saying we didn’t even order them and she continued to put it down. When we mentioned to her that we didn’t order them she then continued to have a rant at us about how we were saying that we did order them but we didn’t. That’s why I am giving a bad review. If you’re going to complain about a customer behind their back, make sure they are not there to here it first.

Food was ok some time ago, but now it got much worse. Burgers are served completely cold, chese not melted at all. Steak is not cooked as asked.

Dropped in here for a quick pint and a snack, the bowl of chips was very tasty and the pints nice. Great selection of Ales / Lagers.

Table wasnt cleared from previous so had to push it to one side. Item missing from plate and when questioned, it came overdone. Wasnt asked how we wanted the steak doing or egg on the mixed grills. Service seemed force as though server didnt want to be and wasnt offered receipt.

Despite the pub being jam packed I got served my dinner very quickly, and the fish was cooked just right. Chips weren't bad too. I was cold as I was soaked through but soon warmed up.

Very busy Struggle to find a table and when you do, they are all dirty and you have to clean them yourself

The food is ok ,I asked for my steak to cooked well done ,it came out rare. Cutlery always dirty.

Typical Wetherspoon on a Saturday, quite busy, empty glasses and plates on tables, but cleared reasonably quickly. Good quality beer at a very good price

Can be extremely busy, great value for money. You can eat cheaply, portions are reasonably in line with the price you pay.
