Costa Coffee in Harborough

Often visit Costa (why have they stopped selling cinnamon buns?) This one is as you would expect with the usual fare. There was a very pleasant young lady both taking the order and preparing the coffee. There were other staff but seemed to be on a break at the time. If you like Costa this one won't dissapoint.

My first time along by the river, just of the square. A little stop before the last leg home. Nice afteroon to enjoy a coffee here.

Nice staff and nice coffee. Slightly tired feeling furnishings-wise inside so much preferable to sit outside, anyway. Unfortunately, Costa seems to attract heavy smokers that hog their outside space.

Not particularly friendly staff. My skinny cortado was only warm, and the milk used, was from a jug sitting on the side- I don’t think it was skimmed milk but did ask and was told it was. I prefer to see fresh milk used and steamed while I wait. Not very impressed

Walked in off the street to receive excellent products and service in calm relaxed atmosphere.

Best brand and best coffee!! Great Coconut Latte and cool place to do a bit of work.

It was very hot and humid but the staff were friendly and the tables were clean.

I am a costa coffee person and if ever in a town we would always go to a costa. However this is the second time we visited here and have been disappointed, I asked for 2 flat whites and one we an extra shot, we sat down at the back of where the coffee machine was to see flies, all over the machine and all over the cups. Then when we got our coffee is was only just warm, and definitely no extra shot in one of them, we was in there for about 5 mins if that. Very disappointed. When visiting again we will go elsewhere

Excellent service and extremely friendly staff I’m a regular and I stir at costa reading a book and when it gets busy after a minute the massive queue is gone! All the tables are made sure to be clean and condiments are always full. Brilliant service definitely would recommend!

Great place to stop and get lunch. Tried one of the new coronation chicken toasted sandwiches. Very nice. Good friendly staff. Everyone always smiles here

I ordered a Blueberry Bubble Frappé & Light Whip but the straw did not suit the drink. The bubbles got caught in my straw because it was not right straw for drink

On my infrequent visits I find the staff very efficient, professional, friendly and cortious.

I’ve started taking my daughter here for a baby chino each week and she loves. The staff are always friendly and full of smiles. The coffee is always great but the attitudes go much further. Can’t recommend enough.

Busy day in Harborough yesterday, so Costa (like other coffee shops) was busy. Two girls doing their best to keep the coffees coming and deal with some fairly fractious and snotty customers. The manager did not take control - she simply ticked the girls off, loudly, and undermined them. Not nice to see.

Nice to have coffee in ceramic rather than paper cups.

Service was *very* slow, and I ended up repeating what I wanted *three* times.

Quite small, feels claustrophobic at times. Possible benefit from removing a few tables and chairs but can't see this happening as will lose out on extra customers. Fairly clean premises, wifi, nice place to meet up but not relaxing atmosphere due to the feeling cramped in and busy. Coffee is very nice, not too bad value for money although cakes n snacks not that good. Also has outside tables but downside is smokers/vapers use this area mostly. Staff are friendly

6 months ago going to Costa in market harborough wasn't a pleasant experience the staff then we're useless telling me Costa didn't do a drink which i have no problem getting at any other Costas but NOW there are three lads Lewis Mai and DJ working there and they are a pleasure and can't do enough for you long may they stay... Don't bother. Wasn't expecting anything amazing but 3 items (anywhere else has several more): - one pot of smooshed melon that had gone over and was half liquid; why did they put this is, was horrible - 2 x same item, feta and tomoto pasta salad = fine but why 2 in same bag? Is meant to be a mix of items. Won't get another bag and staff just handled us as if we were putting them out.

A typical Costa coffee, warm and friendly staff, it's fun trying to read the menu on the TV before it changes so kills time if there's a queue.

Very slow service, no exaggeration 15 min to prepare 2 drinks and the manager was not helping the new employee he seems, instead she was grumpy with unhappy expression on her face.

You normally would think that a coffee shop Costa be busy . But not today 😔 it was completely dead a few costumer's but not many . Coffee was lovely in fact . It's just sad not many people are their . But I'm sure they will have more customers in time . Like wise it's good to appreciate the workers and the hard work they are approving. Must be hard when trying to keep the business on track . The staff are very busy at times but still very talkative and that is what they need to be doing to keep the business going and smiling is a good thing and staying positive for their sakes . They have a hard roll to do . but still having customers to support them they'll be on the right track .give them time and I'm sure they will get their act together and still as wonderful workers in Costa .it be very sad to see it go for sure . But just be patient and stay focus on the positive. I love Costa I've always have . Their coffee and other drinks are nice and tasty . And the cakes are really good . So let's stay focus on the good things . All they want is feedback on our experience visiting Costa . Good or bad . But see how and where their coming from .they are trying their hardest to have their business on track .and it takes alot of courage to get their .

Had a chocolate ice frappe from here, it was utterly tasteless. I know Costa doesn't compare to the other coffee chains anymore, but this was so poor I couldn't even finish it.

Good, friendly service, always decent coffee and cakes. There were plenty of free tables both inside and out.

Unfortunately I have stopped going here as the management and staff have changed along with reduced opening hours. I used to attend regularly for a coffee and occasional cake. Unfortunately the last time I attended it was made clear that dogs were no longer allowed even when collecting a takeaway. Under previous staff we were always welcomed. We will no longer come here as I am not willing to tie my dog up outside when it takes ages just to serve a coffee

Costa do good coffee, very limited food selection and lots of staff not doing that much.

This particular branch of Costa is struggling at the moment. Staff shortages have meant that they have unusual closures, shorter days and often times when they can only offer take-away drinks. All I can say is that we need to support this establishment as much as possible and the staff that are still working as hard as possible to deliver excellent service. Whilst there are an abundance of coffee shops in Market Harborough, this is a firm favourite and it would be a great shame to see it go.

Messy dirty toilets and completely disorganised

If I could give minus 10, I would. This is quite simply the worst coffee shop in the entire district of Harborough. I witnessed the management berating a poor customer - completely on a power trip.

Such a fantastic cafe, the staff are always so polite, kind and friendly. This is always our go to cafe whenever we are in Market Harborough. Our favourites are the coconut lattes, bacon ciabatta rolls and the blueberry muffins. The cafe is always so clean and really good covid protocols still with screens and sanitiser stations at the queue entrance. There's loads of great seating areas and it's the perfect spot to meet friends or family to have a catch up, or to just sit and relax with a great cup of coffee and a slice of delicious cake. The one thing I really want to say again is how amazing the staff are, and let's face it that's such a rare thing. They truly make the difference, create such a welcoming atmosphere and make a nice coffee into something really enjoyable and relaxing.

Visited costa on Saturday 28th Aug, service was absolutely awful. I had to tell the staff to wash their hands as they'd been wiped the floor with blue kitchen towel and then they decided to serve me after a 20 minute wait, never been treated lime this in any cafe let alone costa. Where wete the normal staff, these were cleaning tables that pekple wete sat at with their coffee etc. When i've used my points i will never go in their again.

Don’t usually write reviews but I felt I needed to because I have never experienced such poor customer service before. When I walked in there were two staff on duty, one called Gabrielle (I think ) and the other one I never got the name of. Gabrielle was just standing there not doing anything while the other one was making some drinks. There was no one in the queue which I was pleased about, I went over to choose a toastie during which another customer arrived and went straight to be served. I joined the queue after the customer and very quickly she got her order out of the way and was waiting to pick it up. I then moved down to the tills so I could be served, Gabrielle who was just completing the previous order finishes up and decides that instead of serving me (the other lady was still making drinks), she would decide to take this moment to do some restocking/cleaning, I made eye contact with her a few times so she definitely knew I was there. I am a pretty unconfrontational person so I simply waited even though I was becoming slightly annoyed. My partner and our puppy were waiting outside, so I wanted to get out as soon as possible. Around 10 minutes go by (not even an exaggeration), Gabrielle has been in the back for the past 5 leaving the other woman rushing to finish some previous orders that people were waiting for. Eventually the other woman finishes the drinks and comes straight over to serve me apologising for the wait. Meanwhile Gabrielle is no where to be found. Just seems very unprofessional and rude from Gabrielle in my opinion. I will not be returning to this branch

A formulaic Costa. Pleasant staff but only 2 on duty when we were there so had to queue.

I had a mocha coffee which was delicious... Slightly more expensive than it deserved but it was tasty and drinkable. Sadly the rest of my visit wasn't the best. The toilet was absolutely filthy!! this toilet hadn't been cleaned for some time....yrk!! The staff were overly concerned with customers following covid rules.... Most people are upto date and should be allowed to demonstrate this before staff start bellowing at them that they aren't following rules correctly. Some common sense should be used ...Noone had the chance to relax in cafe as one particular lady staff member seemed overbearing to everyone including her colleagues who clearly struggling with her. I love Costa and use these cafes regularly but I will not be in a hurry to return to this particular Costa....

Staff were to busy talking to one another to give good service. Get a grip there are other coffee shops.

Small Costa but nicely placed in the centre of the pedestrian area, not too far from the car park next to Sainsburys. Staff are always friendly and efficient.

Must say, used to frequent this Costa twice a week for YEARS with my other mummy friends and previous staff were just gorgeous! However, due to lock down restrictions I've not been in at least 1.5 years and boy have things changed! Today, one of their Members of Staff was slightly overzealous about social distancing. I had to point out that the lady she was trying to get me to social distance from was in my party (we entered the venue together and it was empty), and a person with whom I would shortly be sitting with, sans masks and from whom I would most certainly be sitting less than 6 feet away. Sadly, her behaviour just created unnecessary tension-- and considering the extortionate price of a basic black filter coffee and the above, I don't think I'll bother going back tbh. After my experience today, I'm thinking my filter coffee at home is at least on par, and wouldn't be bad to have friends over now that we're allowed. Side note, the WC is seriously gross!

We had to ask someone walking around shop to put on mask ,the lady tried also to move tables and chairs around, but staff member was very good told lady the same and stopped her moving furniture, would use shop again as they take social distancing etc very seriously 27/9/20

Out of habit, I sat at a table to use the app after a few minutes a member of staff announced "sorry you cant sit there its first come first served" ... I explained using the app but this was insufficient. The app was not working either. So I joined the queue to be told stand on the circle. Rather abruptly. Then reminded as if speaking to a child thst it is law that you must do track and trace! While I understand pay and sit logic, what if you have ordered and then no where to sit? An unpleasant experience. The barista was smiling on the positive side. Nothing personal but coffee very average and I do not appreciate being 'micro managed'. Sit here, do that, do this. Perhaps a change of attitude and a smile might make a difference in future. Caffe Nero for me.

Pretty sad for the first come first serve find a table service. Not impressed by Costa lately. Seeing weird behaviour across the board.. Management should really take note and start asking their staff to treat customers as human and not cattle

Always good for a local coffee, the staff seemed a bit flustered on our last visit, were clearly understaffed for a bank holiday monday but they were still on top of things, cleaning regularly etc.

Service was poor not enough tables to sit at staff were stressed and it showed. To be fair there was only 2 of them

Myself and my daughter had appointments in the centre and we needed a quick snack before going home and we assumed Costa would be quick and easy. On entering there was one person in front of us yet it took ages for us to be served as there was only one person serving. My daughter had a toastie and I asked for a chocolate muffin- I assumed it was chocolate as there was no appropriate label next to it. I was advised it had caramel in the centre and was asked if this was okay which I said it was. The toastie took one minute and during this time, my daughter had gone to sit at one of only 2 free tables and there was a queue with around 6 groups of customers. We had noticed there were a lot of empty tables, due to the min 1m rule, many had signs on the chairs stating they were out of use. This however is not clear from outside or from the queue, and after a short while, an elderly lady went to sit at a table whilst her husband remained in the queue. A staff member shouted across the cafe that it was 'first come first served' and she had to leave the table for the customer next in line. Rather a rude and disrespectful way to speak to a customer loudly in front of the whole cafe! I was happily eating my muffin then took a bite of the 'frosting' on the top - it was coffee!! So my chocolate muffin with caramel centre and 3 mini rolos also had coffee, which I HATE and which was not on any label or mentioned at purchase. In these days with allergies and intollerences, this should have been clearly labelled. It totally ruined it for me. I also remembered after leaving that we had not been asked for contact and trace details. There was nothing on the table asking for my details and I wasn't asked at all. So overall, not the best experience, slow service, rude staff member humiliating an elderly customer, misleading / lack of labelling and just a dreary visit. And when we all are being encouraged to use hand sanitiser, the use of forks and spoons should be encouraged, I only got a knife for the toastie, nothing for the muffin, it was made clear they were a little short on cutlery Not sure why this place usually looks so busy, we won't be back. There are dozens of great establishments in Harborough, next time I will put an extra hour on the car park

I found the store to be exceptionally clean and we'll managed. The staff share such a personal connectivity to their customers and the Shift Runner: Anna was both polite and engaging. As someone new to the area I feel completely welcomed and at home

Crockery wasn't very clean. You would think in the current climate, they would be more stringent on these things.
