Great food, great value and great environment!

Amazing service as per usual from start to finished greeted at the front desk by manager Tiff Order taken by Lottie asked about allergies upsold us on sides we enjoyed a 3 course meal kitchen manager Ian and his team back of house didn’t disappoint us food highly presented and hot food. Nice to try some new dishes recommend the pulled lamb Shepards pie and the mini dessert platter thinking of trying a grazing board next time. Everywhere clean and tidy even though it was busy All check backs completed Would highly recommend a visit

Popped into The Nelson after my Sunday walk, fancying a change from my usual breakfast spot — and I’m so glad I did! I ordered the McNelson, and while the £9.50 price initially gave me pause, what arrived quickly justified every penny. Beautifully plated, perfectly seasoned, and each element was incredibly well balanced. You can really tell care goes into every detail. A huge shout-out to Head Chef James, who personally came out to speak with my partner about her allergies to ensure everything was safe — outstanding service and a lovely touch. Highly recommend for anyone after a quality breakfast in a welcoming spot!

Our wedding day (12/04/25) was absolutely perfect, and a huge part of that was thanks to the incredible team at The Longbow! From the start, they were so responsive and always happy to help with any questions we had, which made the whole planning process so much easier, especially Amy!! One of the biggest things that took away stress was that they let us put up some of our own decorations the night before. It meant we could relax and enjoy the wedding day itself without worrying about last-minute decorating. And let's talk about the food—it was delicious! There was a big range of options, both from the cold and hot buffet, so everyone found something they loved. The room was already decorated beautifully, which added to the magical atmosphere. Plus, the DJ was amazing and kept everyone on the dance floor all night! The staff were also very friendly and helpful, making sure everything ran smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or team to celebrate our special day with. Thank you so much :)

Bonito pub de sensación de casa de campo en el precioso pueblo con zona de jardín. Personal amable. Desafortunadamente la comida era muy promedio, ensalada de pollo y tocino ... .. todo picado tan pequeño que una cuchara hubiera sido mejor uso que un cuchillo y tenedor. Adornarlo con rodajas alternativas de pepino y secciones de tomate dispuestas alternativamente alrededor del plato no lo hace más atractivo. Los crutones escondidos en el fondo del plato y tan empapados en aderezo para ensaladas que estaban mojados en lugar de crujientes. Realmente soso.

We have been before many times and thought what good value the lighter bites were and staff friendly. However we decided to have a loaded omelette which was loaded , but it was no bigger than 4 inches in diameter, chips were hard and it cost almost £11 miserable staff, who when I complained she just said they are normally that size, she did apologise, but got the impression it would not be reported back to the kitchen!!

Smelly toilets and rude landlord

I didn't try their food so couldn't mark it highly. The bar was great, staff were absolutely brilliant and atmosphere created was very good.

Best chip shop in nottingham. And it's the last day today for closer. Think the council are doing the wrong thing by closing such a nice place down all for student accommodation. Nottingham as enough student accommodation

Loved the food from Yau’s Take Away very good portion was not able to all of it but amazing food. I would order again from this take away. Also very warm and Friendly staff.
