First time back as Chapel since lockdown and nice to see changes at Arches and the old Bellbank on Trunch lane. We knew that The Maid Marion had changed so we thought we'd try it. Having eaten here numerous times and never being disapointed. We arrived just before the kitchen closed and we're told we had two minutes to order so we quickly ordered two meals and drinks and for £37 we expected a decent meal. Steak and Ale pie and chips. Cold soggy chips, pie reheated in a microwave, soggy pastry, congealed gravy also cold. Cheese burger, onion rings, chips and salad. Everything was cold apart from the burger which was so over cooked it was almost black. The salad consisted of a few limp lettuce leaves, all in all a very disappointing meal. We understand that we were just in time for ordering food but that should not mean a reduced service, our meals were rushed and prepared carelessly. The alterations look nice and have added to the general appeal of the place and in some ways explain the rather high prices. We will not return as it is not as good as when it was Maid Marion, for a pub in such a prominent position it should be doing better, it looks the part but fails miserably in it's execution.

We have been to Applebys 5 times this spring and summer. Every time the staff have been friendly and helpful. Only one of those times the queue was out the front door but it was a Sunday and a super hot day so it was expected. Weāve always found a table and enjoyed trying all the different flavours. The children have enjoyed going on the little park and playing on the field across the road. There are plenty of picnic tables there too. The biggest thumbs up for us though is that they offer gluten free cones, brownies and waffles so our celiac daughter can enjoy a treat too and not have the feel left out at all!

We arrived at this hotel for a wedding, on arrival I found it unusual to be asked for payment upfront? We were staying in the grounds, in a block of about 20 rooms (approx) The door to the lodge was entered by security fob. It soon became clear that the door closure was worn out, as the door slammed shut every time someone came and went, including drunk golfers at 2 - 3 am in the morning???? My room was the first one inside the door the door frame was connected to the wall of my room so the slamming door was annoying!!!! Three times I reported this problem to the receptionist (when I could find one) who promised to sort it, this never happened. The shower in my room was leaking into the bath for the duration of my stay (2 nights) I reported this also but again nothing happened. A family member had an executive room paying over £100 a night more than my room, when they arrived some of the wallpaper in the room had fallen onto the floor, damp was obviously an issue? Whilst on arrival the hotel seemed rather nice it soon become clear that all was not as it seemed (hence payment taken upfront). The staff were all young and lacked guidance or training the guy at breakfast was just damn right rude, if I hadn't been at a wedding I would have left and found somewhere else immediately. This hotel requires a good maintenance man, a full time receptionist as well as a manager. The other noticeable point was the reception, which was in a small office. The reception door spent more time locked than it did open. Even on the morning of leaving, the reception was locked, when I went to leave and discuss my complaint with someone, six sets of room keys were just left lying on the floor outside. When we tried to book our rooms the phone was never answered, the same with emails, now we know why, lack of staff. Nevertheless the experience of the Dower House Hotel, Woodhall Spa is over and I won't be returning.

Cold , tasteless not sure I even got a Chinese? Honestly tasted like a ready meal from Heron . Actually thatās not fair on Herons. Ordered at 17.50 and we said weād be back at 18.45 , got back @ 18.40 to be told 15 to 20 minutes!!? Now if they were cooking it fresh so you would expect it to be piping hot after a 2 minute car trip⦠alas no between 22 to 30 c tested. Put in dishes and into the oven. (This point wishing I hadnāt wasted Ā£40 and gone to Herons) hoping the taste would make up for everything, yet again bitterly disappointed. Probably the worst takeaway Iāve ever had .

Pretty decent Chinese , Iām local to the village and thereās a pretty good choice of food outlets here. Thereās a static holiday home site in the village and when people are on holiday here this place is mobbed .

Greeted with silence by a face that looked like it wanted us to go away. Food was hands down the worst meal that I remember eating. I had the mixed starter, the Won tons were just pastry with no filling, the rest of the food was dry and felt like it had been sitting under lights for hours. My partner had duck chow mein and was instantly sick. She said it tastes like they ran out of soy sauce so used bisto granules instead. The server smiled at us as we were leaving but later we realised that she was smiling because she had just handed us a bag of leftovers in exchange for £20. Seaweed was passable though.

This small but well placed cafe is just brilliant. Dog friendly (with a free biscuit for your pooch if you're lucky), people friendly and with friendly staff this is easily misable as just another cafe on the front but it's definitely worth a stop. We were back and forth during our two week stay - they do an awesome cup of tea, the crab meat sandwich was lovely, the cakes and scones were delicious. Make sure you stop for a cuppa, a cold drink, a beer, some delicious seafood or a cheeky slice of lemon drizzle cake!

Our first visit to this M&S cafe and we were completely underwhelmed and disappointed. It was not busy but most of the tables were dirty and had not been cleared. Even the clear tables were sticky and covered in crumbs. Service was painfully slow. The staff were disinterested and continued to chat amongst themselves whilst serving. The crockery was not clean, the floor needed sweeping and the whole experience was unpleasant. Not what we expect from Marks & Spencer. Very sub-standard. Avoid!

Called into The Viking Garden Cafe today on way back from dog walk in Willingham Woods. Very friendly atmosphere. Friendly staff and a lovely fire which we appreciated on a cold day. We had hot drinks and a light lunch. Food was cooked fresh and we both enjoyed our lunch. Will definitely be calling in again. As for Peter A previous review ⦠he seems to eat at a lot of places and gives them 1 star! A very rude person about the cliental. Maybe he should just eat at home.
