We went specifically to this venue for breakfast. We ordered different breakfasts and made some changes to one of them with the helpful counter staff. The tea in the tea pot was cold and we took it back for a replacement hot tea pot. The breakfast was brought to us by a member of staff who did not smile or speak. Having ordered extra well done bacon we were surprised to note that it certainly hadn't been even well done. The plates were cold and so was half of the breakfast, the rest of it cooling rapidly. The toast and prepacked butter were placed on the top of the breakfast and we had to use our fingers to try and get them off the top, even though there was nowhere to put them (have they never heard of side plates)? All in all, very poor. Customer care is clearly not a priority.

Whenever we visit Horncastle we end up here but the food and service has become so erratic it's time to explore other venues. We took a table half an hour before close and ordered poached eggs on toast. When a waitress audibly sighs it doesn't bode well. The eggs were served workhouse style in a pool of vinegar water and runny yolk with soggy cheap Sunblest white on the side. The hurried service continued when the waitress, noticing my wife's foray to the gifts upstairs, asked about her whereabouts before studying her watch. The 'chef' has always been taciturn but the food and service has previously compensated. Sadly, it has become merely 'good in parts'.

Excellent friendly service, eggs perfectly done, lincolnshire sausages (the best), good coffee. What a great start to a busy day

Visited today for afternoon tea with my daughter as a treat for Mother's day. Wow, amazing. Beautifully presented. A great choice of sandwiches, scone with jam and cream, a mousse dessert and a good selection of cakes. Really friendly staff checking we had everything needed and offers of more tea etc. I am gluten free and the selection was brilliant. Great atmosphere, unfortunately the only thing spoiling it was a dog who was whining just behind us, it was a relief when it eventually left. Other than that well done Redwood restaurant, a real treat. Thank you very much.

Popped in at 5.30pm to order 2 takeaway meals for a home delivery at 8pm. Had to go in rather than phone because on a previous enquiry, I was told that for card payments you have to order at the counter and pay......erm, okaaay !! 8pm came and went, and at 8.35 I phoned to enquire as to where our food was ? I was told that the driver was out delivering and the he wouldn't be long. 8.45 he turned up apologising and that he difficulty finding the address. Despite the fact that our house is less than a mile and a half away, and in more or less in a strait line. The Food : Ah, the food !! Firstly, it was barely warm and I put mine in the microwave. I have been enjoying curry since the 1970s and have eaten in many curry houses in many towns and have seldom been disappointed. However, I can say with authority that this was by far and away the worst example of Indian food I have ever tasted in all those years. The curry was bland, bordering on tasteless. The onion bhaji we're not only stone cold, but also were similar in texture and equally tasteless !! The accompanying teaspoon full of mango chutney consisted of a sweet goo, bereft of any pieces of mango whatsoever. The mint sauce as we tend to call it, was of a thin, milky substance, and tasted of nothing at all but merely served to soften the rock like texture of the onion bhaji. To conclude. I would recommend that if you want a decent, satisfying takeaway Indian meal, then avoid The Agra.... better renamed as The Aggro !! and get a ready meal from any supermarket. Not only will you get eat it on time, but it will actually taste of something and save you quite a lot of money too.

We rang up our order of various dishes which worked out to be near £50 worth. Was told it should be ready for collection in half an hour. Once i got the food home everything was very very greasy. Even though the chicken balls had been double bagged the grease had come through the bags and onto nearly all of the other containers, the chicken looked like it was pre poached before being friend which gave almost a translucent look to the chicken which isn’t the most appealing. The prawn crackers looked and tasted like they had been cooked in old oil (quite yellow in colour) The mini spring rolls were absolutely tiny and barely had any filling in them. (think about the same size as a “Celebrations” chocolate. The chicken and green peppers in black bean sauce lacked flavour and was a small portion compared to other Chinese’s i’ve visited. The chow mein was alright The egg fried rice was ok. The salt and pepper chips were absolutely awful, dark brown in colour, just like the chicken balls and the prawn crackers they seem like they are cooked in old oil and for far too long. The salt and pepper chips also lacked any sort of flavour. The portions are small and the prices are expensive Will definitely not be returning

This has to be one of the worst takeawys ever. This place has been down before but bounced back. This time there is no-where to go, its a gonner. Hard chewy meat ( not sure what it even was) Could have been chicken beef or duck and it was in a special chow mein. I didn't eat it, can't do that to my tum. No spice, no taste, nothing to recommend it at all and yet they keep putting their prices up. These are two regulars signing off.

This is the third time we’ve eaten lunch here in the last few months, including an excellent Christmas meal. The staff have all been friendly and very helpful to any tweaks we’ve wanted to make to the menu. The food is tasty, like home cooked, with good portion sizes and presented well. The menu has lots of choice, with a good selection for non meat eaters. The cakes and puddings are a real high point, and yesterday there was an impressive three vegan selections and two gluten free. All of the above were a five star experience, but the toilets are really letting the place down, I can see from other reviews that this is something that is regularly raised, and yesterday when I told a friend we’d had a good meal, her response was “the food is great, but the toilets are awful”. This is NOT a cleaning issue; they are old, in a poor state of repair, and have an unpleasant smell, that all the cleaning in the world won’t put right. They need to be upgraded and decorated. It’s a shame because it is detracting from another wise very positive experience.
