Lovely setting! Friendly and helpful!Lovely menu and fantastic food. The staff are amazing and so helpful. Real log fires crackling away, great atmosphere, we were a couple with a dog and treated amazingly. Thank you, will be back a few more times before we go home. The pub has a little shop as well for all your needs. Thanks.

The service was very poor. We waited over an hour for our mains whilst they all rushed around despite the restaurant not being busy. The servers were inattentive to the point they charged us extra for food we didn’t order; asked if we could see the pudding menu but never came back over to take our order. Despite all this the food was good.

Fantastic Family Meal at The Oakover Arms! We had a brilliant family meal tonight at The Oakover Arms, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! The Indian dishes were absolutely delicious—full of rich flavors, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff making sure everything was just right. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. Highly recommend The Oakover Arms for anyone looking for a great meal in a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Very disappointed in this pub was not made to feel welcome. The guy in charge was rude and made a couple of unnecessary comments. Totally unacceptable as we had booked in advance and even though we were a large party it should not have made a difference. Spent a lot of money there but won’t ever go back. Would have walked out but didn’t want the pub to lose out. Felt they were not bothered with our custom and wish had left.

The restaurant itself is accessible, providing you don’t need to use any facilities (toilets). If you’re in a wheelchair then you can forget it. After a lovely meal I needed to use the toilet before we left as we had a 40 min drive back home. But there was no disabled/accessible toilet. My partner highlighted this to the staff and the manager came. She asked me if I wanted to use the gents! She said she would block it off for me. For context I am a young women. It’s unsafe for me without using grabrails. I ended up having to travel half a mile away and use some dark and dingy disabled toilets up the road!

Stayed here for one night whilst walking the Limestone way. Room was spacious and comfortable and breakfast was really tasty. Was great to see the cows on the farm and to watch the birds in the garden on the feeder. A little bit remote in terms of location and we could hear the owners in the room below during the early evening.

The Jug and Glass was perfect in every way. Great staff, very clean, great food and very comfortable accommodation. Vicky, Daryl and Kayla looked after us and we left after 3 fabulous days hoping to return some day. Couldn’t fault our few days. Vicky is an exceptional host.

Astonishing. I booked a weekend away about a month in advance. 3 days later I realised I'd double booked (my other half had arranged something I didn't know about) so I called up immediately to let the hotel know my mistake. I'd paid £790 for 2 nights but was told that as I'd clicked on the first package offered, it was non-refundable and the hotel would be keeping my money. I had not realised that was the case because on booking I was offered about 6 packages, most of which appeared to be offering 'extras' when I just wanted the room, hence clicking the first option. Now I understand the need to protect against no shows and last-minute cancellations but this was a genuine mistake that I sought to immediately rectify. My initial conversation with the Duty Manager was met with total refusal, effectively holding me hostage to the booking. I felt utterly sick that a hospitality institution could be so appallingly intransigent, so much so that I felt akin to a victim of theft. I had been trying to do something nice and seemed to be about to lose almost £1,000 as the result of a mistake. Against all my instincts I wrote a pleading e-mail and was then offered 50% back on cancellation of the booking. That means that this wretched place has still kept £395 of my money and will be able to re-book the room. This was 3 days after my initial error with over 3 weeks to the booking itself. I'm staggered at the attitude of management in the circumstances. I completely get that if I was calling up a week before, but this was me recognising my mistake almost immediately. All I can say is look very carefully at the options if/when you book, and be alert to how management treat a potential guest like myself. I still feel sick to my stomach that this place has just kept £400 of my money.
