We had ham salads that were well presented & very tasty. Nicely served by pleasant staff & clean table & cutlery. Very comfortable restaurant. We were able to park outside the door using mobility blue badge. Very handy & free of charge. That makes a refreshing change!! Toilets spacious & well looked after. Highly recommended.

Excellent family friendly country pub. They had a Jazz band on the evening we went, the beer garden was bustling and everyone was clearly enjoying themselves. The staff were were superb. We were served by Mike and Bridget through the evening. Who, despite it being a busy night, would still greet each customer in a friendly and welcome manner and find the time to bring our drinks and food to us offering a table service. We decided we were hungry and went to order food only we were abit too late and the kitchen had closed. Even still, the chef came out to our table to offered to cook us up some hot dogs and beautifully seasoned chips. We plan to go again in the near future

Top local pub Stopped here a couple of times on a dog walk with a big group of family and a couple dogs. Clearly a locals pub as in the centre of the village. Staff were friendly and welcoming, locals likewise. Not always the case when you're an 'out of towner'. Tha KS everyone!

We have visited this establishment from before it was “The olive tree”, when it was a pub. Now it is a an eatery with a selection of goodies to purchase. All I can say is, that it is delightful. The staff are so friendly, the food is top notch. An example, I have for many years liked the simple scone, so many places deliver them to your table, as soon as butter hits scone they shatter ! But the ones at the Olive tree are exceptional. We go to Chesterfield and it is a point now drop in for a coffee (scone maybe) a cake or sandwich. We even bought a picture last time. A delight, go visit.

I tried the deli breakfast as recommended by another reviewer but it wasn’t to my taste. I didn’t like the weird beans and does avocado really go with a cooked breakfast? I liked the sausage and egg. The bacon was unusual and overall I didn’t enjoy it. I didn’t like the coffee either. It may well suit others but overall I found it disappointing. Nothing wrong with it just not to my taste.

I really love this pub,it's so warm and friendly and is very welcoming to all. Dogs and children are welcome, and there's a great choice of drinks and food available for everyone, they really will go out of their way to help. Its a great place for sports lovers as they have a wide range of sports channels. They have live entertainment and quizzes and bingo. The back of the pub is great for children as they have a kids climbing frame, slide and bouncy castle, its enclosed and totally safe and away from the road . My husband and i are always looked after really well and all the staff are like a second family. My favourite day is sunday because they do the most fantastic carvery (you must book inadvance). You have a good choice of plate sizes, ranging from large to childs. The carvery is served by dan who serves your choice of meat which is either pork, turkey, beef and sometimes lamb all of which is cooked to perfection and is supplied locally from coates butchers. The choice of vegetables is vast and all of which is cooked perfectly, all the time freshly cooked veg ect is coming out of the kitchen cooked by amber and malc. The Yorkshire puddings are homemade and the cauliflower cheese is to die for, the roast potatoes and parsnips are also spot on, they really cover all bases. There's a vegetarian and vegan option just ask when ordering. I really cannot fault the grouse inn and I highly recommend it.

Visited here as it was highly recommended on TripAdvisor so thought I’d give it a go. We had the breakfast bap and ciabatta. Food wise it was really nice but not sure if it was a local supplier as there is a butchers on site. If they are then this should be advertised. People love eating local produce. The main thing that let it down was the cleanliness. With coronavirus going around and on the rise we now expect premises to be super clean. There was so much dust on window ledges, plug sockets and tops of seating. A lot of flies around too - you really could do with a fly killer front of house. I sincerely hope there’s one in the kitchen. All in all it was a nice morning. Nice coffee and nice staff. Just needs some more attention to detail
