Ordered an afternoon tea for collection. Fantastic friendly service and the afternoon tea was AMAZING ! Delicious selection of sandwiches and savoury delights and awesome scones with jam and cream and a selection of cakes. I cannot recommend highly enough. I also took away a hot chocolate which my daughter said was one of the best she had ever had and the cappuccinos were perfect ! Fabulous place - a must visit !

I brought a groupon for a cream tea, and redeemed it today. I honestly had the best experience. The lady serving was so polite and friendly and just so on the ball with everyone. The place is cosy and even the other customers were so friendly and chatty! The cream tea itself was incredible and even without the groupon I think it’s well priced. The sandwiches are lovely and freshly made and the cakes were so nice. All homemade and just beautiful. I even asked to buy some of their homemade coleslaw which I’m having later!!!! Just one of the nicest experiences and nicest cream teas I’ve ever had. Definitely going again!!!! Thank so much to the staff.

We needed somewhere to stop for breakfast on a trip from east to west and spotted this cafe on Trip Advisor. For a little over £6 they serve a huge breakfast which is amazing value for money. Very well cooked food, although I thought the sausages were no more than average (a good butcher’s sausage would have topped it all off perfectly). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Drinks are extra, but the coffee was good and for £1.50 you get a huge glass of fresh orange. On street parking nearby, so easy to get to. All in all a very good breakfast.

We stayed overnight in Rothwell and asked a couple of people for recommendations for breakfast. Both said Rowell's Rolls without hesitation so that was our decision made. I decided to have the all day breakfast and have to say it was the best and tastiest I've had anywhere. The bacon was amazing, unbelievably tender. The granary toast was also delicious, and the eggs and mushrooms were cooked to perfection. The portion size was very generous for the amount paid - only £4.50. Got my family another Groupon deal ( and also one as a gift for a friend). Good value for money. The sandwiches were freshly prepared and came with salad garnish, kettle chips and a small pot of coleslaw. Lots of choice and very tasty. The cakes it also came with were a large mince pie (shop bought), a small piece of chocolate roll (shop bought), a tiny piece of carrot cake ( which I think was shop bought) and an amazing scone with cream and jam and a few cranberries. Too many cakes to eat in one sitting so the lovely staff boxed them up to take home. I would have preferred a smaller home made minced tart and scone rather than shop bought (co-op) cakes but otherwise a great deal

Nanny lives in Leicestershire & Granny in Northamptonshire, so choosing somewhere to take them both for mothers day was always going to be difficult. Fortunately, when it comes to important decisions like this, the better half takes charge.I've had my fair share (some could argue more than my fair share) of sandwiches & cake in my life, but I can honestly say that the afternoon tea that we had today featured some of the best presented, tastiest & filling bits of food that I've had.The staff were very friendly, and didn't have any objections to us bringing our own food to give to our 18 month old boy.If you're after somewhere more upmarket than a greasy spoon, more reasonable than a chain coffee shop and more filling than a well known fast food chain, certainly pay Rowells Rolls a visit. We'll definitely be making a return visit in the near future

My wife and I decided to take a nice walk over from Desborough to give this place a go. We have often driven past and thought it was more of a walk in sandwich shop rather than a cafe due to the frosted glass door and busy windows making it hard to see in. We were delighted to find out that it was a lovely sized cafe with excellent value food. My wife had the fish fingers ciabatta and I had the chicken and chorizo ciabatta and both were delicious. A perfect size and full of flavour. On leaving my wide took a piece of lemon cake to have when we got home and she was offered some whipped cream which we found funny as I doubt it would have lasted all the way home.We would definitely take the 2.5 mile walk to the cafe again or if lazy drive over.Well done to all.

We went here today for lunch after a morning out because we had been told great things about it - and how right they were!We had a cooked breakfast and sandwiches, all of which were presented beautifully. Sandwiches were served with a salad, coleslaw and crisps; the coleslaw in particular was very nice although everything was very tasty and the portions sizes were just right. The only reason I've given 4 stars rather than five is because the sandwiches had most of their fillings in the centre of the bread when sliced making it quite hard to eat them politely without a lot of the filling falling out.The coffee was also very good, served with an amaretto biscuit. The premises themselves are very clean, tidy and well laid out with homely décor and warm friendly atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive giving enough time to make a selection and reasonably prompt delivery of orders. They also provide take away food and organise themed evenings throughout the year as well as offering a catering service for all occasions.Would definitely recommend this place.

The Full English consisted of 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 1 egg, beans (in a ramekin which was a nice touch as it meant I didn't have a wet sloppy brekkie), tomato, hash brown and delicious toast. The meat is sourced from the local butcher, Frank, and it was all cooked beautifully. It wasnt greasy at all and there was real attention to detail. We'd been here before and this visit was equally as good. This is a small, bright, clean cafe. Every item on the chalkboard menu sounds tempting. We were there for an afternoon "cheese tea" ... this basically comprises a large cheese board with 3 cheeses, crackers, pickles, toast and salad. You and can ask for more if you get through that lot. But don't, because after clearing the board you get a giant homemade scone, with clotted cream and jam. Fills up right up.We were on a Groupon so it was great value. We went here for lunch as the Tripadvisor reviews seemed good and we in the area. However, the coffee was weak/tasteless and the food was awful. We all ordered ciabattas. The outside of the bread didn't appear to be toasted. One half had lots of cheese on it, the other half was bare. The under side of the panini was soggy and greasy from the overloaded cheese. The coleslaw was possibly homemade, it had far too much mayonaise in it. The salad wasn't fresh, one of the cherry tomatoes was black inside. The crisps were salt and pepper flavoured which seems an odd choice especially for children. Unfortunately I don't have anything good to say about Rowell's Rolls. I wish we had driven back to Corby and gone to the Good Bean.

Well, it was fantastic, the selection of cheeses was excellent and the staff brought out warm bread and crackers of which we could ask for more (which we did)! After we had finished the cheeses I thought that was it until we were told we get a cream tea. Huge scones were placed on the table with clotted cream, jam and raspberries along with some slices of carrot cake. We just spent a lovely time in this cafe. Such wonderful service and super friendly staff. I must say this was also one of the cleanest places I have been to in a very long time.

Neat little cafe this...it sits just off the main street of this rural Northamptonshire town. All looks bright and tidy as you enter. It’s not a big place but the menu has good choice and the people are friendly. We had a “cheese afternoon tea”, which basically consists of a cheese board with 4 different, flavoursome cheeses, accompanied by bread, crackers, pickle and chutney. The cheeses were delicious (stilton/cheddar/brie/Mexican). Some of the crackers were a bit soft and the pickle went quickly, but I could have asked for more. For the second round you get a home-made fruit scone with jam & cream and a homemade piece of carrot cake. All washed down with a beverage of your choice.I’d come here again (not something I normally do) ... this place deserves to success... go enjoy a visit!

Visited after the school drop off one morning with friends. Friendly service, happy to accommodate specific needs, very tasty looking menu and very friendly towards my younger daughter who was waiting patiently while mummy chatted. I would definitely come back and try some of the lunch options.

Not sure if it the welcome, the service, the cleanliness, the menu or just the excellent food ... But highly recommended by me.

We have been going here since moving to the area last year, mainly for breakfast and on a regular basis. We have never been disappointed. There is always a warm welcome when you enter and friendly, happy service. The food is great and obviously fresh. A few weeks ago, we had friends and family staying and booking a table for 10 was no problem with the service and quality as good as ever. If you go to Rothwell and don't go here, you've missed a treat.

My daughter and ihad the lunchtime special of soup and a sandwich for £5.00. Brilliant! Homemade tomato soup, Stilton, apple and pickle sandwiches with salad garnish, coleslaw and crisps. Very pleasant staff and cosy surroundings. Would definitely return if we were in the area again.

Cannot recommend this place enough! As locals we have visited several times, both to sit in and takeaway and have always found the staff to be friendly and welcoming- nothing is too much trouble and the food is always delicious and plentiful. We visited at the weekend for breakfast and could not fault it. I went with the all day breakfast and my hubby the "big one" which really was! The all day came with fried eggs which they were happy to replace for scrambled for me and substituted my beans for mushrooms. Both meals were spot on and we left with full tums having scraped the plates clean! Will be returning very soon!

We had bought a chocolate afternoon tea on Groupon. The surroundings were lovely, staff very friendly. The sandwiches were very tasty and freshly made. When the chocolate part came we were really disappointed. Nothing like the one advertised on Groupon. Just 2 tiny pieces of mini Swiss rolls each, a mini chocolate muffin each and the most enormous scone that was quite hard, more like a rock cake. I had read brilliant reviews about the chocolate afternoon teas at Rowells Rolls so we were really looking forward to a special treat. Extremely disappointed. Why have a picture showing items nothing like you are providing.

Visited with group of friends for a chocolate afternoon tea with a Groupon voucher. Lovely clean tea shop , you get to choose your sandwiches ,they arrived on a tray with salad and crisps. The bread was so fresh and the fillings plentiful. Choice of tea or coffee followed by home made scones with cream and selection of chocolate cakes. It was a lovely treat and would recommend it to anyone. The full menu looked good too. Only problem was the tables are a bit small for four but the place is really nice and welcoming. Looking forward to a return visit

Classic traditional British cafe with a chilled atmosphere. Friendly, family run. Took my two kids (10 & 12) for brunch. Said they liked it because it was like ‘bobs burgers’ 😉 traditional English breakfasts, paninis, baguettes and tasty smoothies. Great value. My kids are nagging to come back - they’re tired of fast food at McDonald’s and KFC

We took the time to pre-book a table, on arrival although the table had a reserve sign on it people were using it. We were offered alternative seating on bar seats! This was not an option for us and found our own table. Drink menu was nonexistent for ale or bitter drinkers. We ordered our food and drinks, after 10 mins some came to advise that one of our food options was not available so new meal ordered. Food came roast dinners were great, pizza was questionable and the boa buns were a let down. During our food a waitress came over to see how things were and decided to clean some glasses and plates as she did this she leant over my mother in law who was try to eat her meal! We ordered from the 3 puddings the restaurant offers and after a good 5 mins the waitress came to say one wasn't available. Surely with only 3 puddings on the menu they should know what wasn't available. 15 mins later we were informed that there would be a slightly longer wait to receive the other two ordered puds. At this point we gave up paid the bill and left. I can 100% say we will not return

Me and two friends went for just some cake and coffee. I called up a day before to book a table on a Sunday and was told we didn’t need to book for just cakes. When we arrived we where told they only have people for roast dinner on Sundays and I explained about the phone call, so he sat us down about 20mins after we got our cake and coffee we where told we had to leave in 5 minutes as they had somebody coming in for the table we had to leave without finishing our drinks or cake and paid full price. This was absolutely disgusting behaviour and a waste of money

Very nice cosy pub with friendly staff, just had drinks so can't comment on food. Had an open mic singing night while there and that was fun to listen to. Beer we had was tasty and well kept, will visit again.
