The best restaurants in England

One of the worst experience i had at this cafe will never go back again. My 1 year old baby accidentally dropped the small plate and she charged £5 that plate don't even cost a 50p if you buy it. AVOID THIS PLACE

The Royal Standard is an excellent pub with very friendly staff and the food from Tzatziki makes it worth the visit on its own as well.

Fab spot for people who like tequila. We came on a quiet Sunday evening but there was still a nice atmosphere - the staff are all lovely and friendly and the drinks made well. We had the nachos with beef which was really good - would love to come back and try and the tacos!

A great place, good atmosphere, helpful and interested staff. Excellent food and decent beer selection. Will go again

Myself and hubby popped in her Monday for breakfast… Place was pretty full but got a table. Both ordered full English one with fried eggs and other scrambled. Order taken then got mixed up. Our food was delivered to a table who came in afterwards where one had obviously ordered the full English but other hadn’t. Anyway when it finally arrived simply delicious even though no tomato’s … place is lovely and highly recommend.

Try the new place across the road - this place is awful .

We made a last minute booking for Christmas Day for myself, my partner and his 98 year old Dad, thanks to Sam who was able to squeeze us in after hearing that our original venue had cancelled our booking. We arrived early and happy to find wheelchair access to the restaurant on the first floor via the lift. The room was tastefully decorated with good lighting and low level background music so we could hear each other. We were greeted by Anton - knowledgable and passionate about wine and his role at the Estate - who poured us a glass of the Estate Brut and went on to assist us with fantastic pairings for the 3 course fixed menu, which also included bread, an amuse bouche, sorbet palette cleanser and petite fours. The food was great, focusing on quality over quantity. The service was also great - friendly, professional and calm. We found out during the meal that this was the first time they have opened on Christmas Day and we hope that they will continue this tradition so that we can come back next year. Thank you to ALL the team, front and back of house - enjoy your two weeks off in January - you deserve it!

Stopped in for breakfast.... absolutely spot on veggie brekkie. Staff lovely and quick service. Drinks excellent. Kids had waffles and they were also amazing.

Should had a lovely meal staff very professional food lovely had the kebab and the ribeye cooked great will definitely be coming again

Wonderful traditional old pub. The food was excellent,but the visit was let down by poor service. We booked for 1.00 pm didn’t receive food until shortly after 2.00 ! Incidentally there were only three other tables occupied at the time or during our whole visit.

I wish there was more to it than this thick gravy.. and like 3 or 4 pieces of chicken. We barely ever order from the Indian though it’s tasty but it cost and not worth the money I paid. Sorry I won’t come again.

Excellent fish and chips. Very clean and hygienic highly recommend
