I had dinner with my friend at this restaurant.
I have nothing to object to, we have been looking for a place where we can eat so well for a long time. The food and the service were extraordinary. I recommend 100%
We have visited The Grocery Chef a few times now and everytime the food has been excellent. Everthing is homemade. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Well behaved dogs are allowed but understandably they like them to have clean paws otherwise you are issued with a towel.
not impressed....
me and my family went to our local, as it's normally decent but today the menu is now limited when in the cafe. (even though website says otherwise)
waited over 25 mins for food, on my breakfast it had hot hash browns and eggs but the bacon was luke warm, the beans were cold and the sausages had a weird texture to them.
My mum had ordered a butty with bacon AND mushrooms, but yet it came with an egg (even though she didn't order it) 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
whilst we'd had our food there were people who had been waiting for collection of orders since we'd been sat down. Then also local workers were waiting just as long in a queue for food, felt like donating some of mine to them but even then i wouldnt wish it on them to eat it🤦🏻♀️🙃
Felt sorry for the poor woman who had been waiting for food she even had ordered similar time to us, other people had their food given to them or served but yet she was still waiting too.
For a place that used to be sh*t on it if something went wrong, they've really let themselves down and just gone wrong.
update: an hours wait even though the menu has been simplified?!
Bought some flowers for my friend from the shop this morning, they all look nice. Especially the yellow tulips. But I’m not very good at arranging/choosing flowers for the bouquet, then I asked them for advice, I got nothing but a knowledge from the shop girl “all the flowers are beautiful.”
Vine aquí para comer la semana pasada con la familia y todos se fueron muy felices. La calidad de la comida era genial y el servicio desde el era muy amable.
I haven't been to Tickhill for ages.
I tried Sarah Lou’s Coffee Shop & Bistro 16a Castlegate, Tickhill, Doncaster DN11 9QU
The Cafe used to be called Daisy's in the village.
I had Cheese, Tomato and Onion Panini with Coleslaw, Side salad and crisps.
Drink: Diet Pepsi
My PA had a full English breakfast with a latte.
Nice little coffee shop inside.
Thank you to Sarah and the staff for the lovely food and great service 😊
Had double Sausage & Chips and was excellent, friendly service and really tasty, a great little eatery tucked away. Often they can disappoint but this one was spot on.
Goodbye!
Oh dear! How can I tell you about our favourite local pub? This morning 28 July 2024 a friend knowing our love of the George Inn said the local newspaper had announced the pub was closing today. Our last visit was on the 21st June for a wonderful lunch.
In all the occasions we have visited we have never had a bad experience and always been complimentary over the cuisine as their chef Dave knew his skills in his menus would please patrons.
With plans in for a change of use it is not likely this wonderful hostelry will ever revert to being a pub. The local community is much concerned re this closure so we are not the only people who will miss venturing onto the Brendon Hills to celebrate family occasions. Tears are welling!! We had a delicious Afternoon Tea at The Grocer Chef today. A lovely selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.
