King Fryer Fish & Chips in Havering

Took an hour to deliver over cooked rubbery chicken, undercooked chips and some watery chili sauce. The supposed chicken kebab arrived plain with no salad. Just pieces of chicken on a pitta. You must request salad on notes apparently if you want this. Complained through shop who offered only replacement food which I didn’t want to accept. Told to complain through just eat which are just a shambles too and have been unable to get any money or credit back as they are uncontactable. Chucked £25:00 of food to the birds as it was all inedible.

I assume this shop has changed hands, we use to visit this shop on a regular basis as this is our local my husband ordered one batter sausage 1 saveloy, 2 gerkins and chips i went to take a bite of my saveloy and this was not cooked! Gerkins were soft squidgy and disgusting rang the shop they werent even bothered will not use again!!

Edit: Updated. Sadly this place has gone downhill compared to when it first opened. Excellent chippy.What stood out the most was the obvious high quality of the ingredients even down to the type of Pitta bread they use. Everything was nicely presented, well cooked and very tasty.

What has happened to king fryer the prices have gone up the portions have got smaller we had kebabs and the donner meat was so thin you could see through it this used to be the best fish and chip shop in Romford I won’t be going there again

Chips are the absolute best around. Kebabs are very good. Fish is very good, Please fully train people before employing as staff, Woman confusing all the orders gave me someone else’s order and messed up my payment Didn’t realise until I was home and live too far to come back

A local gem of mine, proper chippy chips! Fresh fish and tasty batter, a very nostalgic aroma as soon as you walk in, proper grub, portion sizes and prices are 👌🏾 best in the area without a doubt.

My mum (95) will only have her Haddock and chips from the King Fryer. Tried others but her long years of experience means she insists she prefer their offering. If age brings wisdom then must be good.

Fantastic service and lovely food. First time ordering from these guys on Uber eats. We were given generous portions and all special instructions/notes were followed accurately. Will definitely be ordering from them again. Chips tasted as though they were fried in fresh oil unlike many other chip shops around the area. Delicious.

Have been going here since it opened. Their Fish is just amazing. You won't regret going here. I have recommended it to a lot of people and they all have loved it.

Went in with the better half who had sausage and chips and I had a salad and hummus wrap. The staff are great and such friendly people. My wrap was brilliant, huge and packed with salad and hummus with lots of chili sauce. The sausage and chips went down a treat and all in all great price for a good product and superb service. Popped in after shopping at Iceland - was the first time we'd tried this place. Everything was freshly fried including the chips as well as the cod. Food was great and the staff were friendly.
