The best restaurants in England

We came last night with a table of 16. I can't find fault with this restaurant at all. Service was amazing and quick. Food was absolutely divine. One of the best curries I have ever had. The atmosphere was happy and relaxed. What a hidden gem. We will be back ....soon. it was so good we have dreamt about the food. 😍 With a large party, you never know how it will go but absolutely perfect in every way. Thank you

Handy roadside stop (which is a Layby with a large carpark adjacent) Good roadside kiosk/cafe with an excellent menu. Great Tea too (in a mug) 👍

𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐫 is my "go to" place for a morning or afternoon coffee break. It get's me out of the house. The staff are very friendly. The service is excellent. Special mention to 𝐅𝐚𝐝𝐢 (manager), and 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬, 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚 and 𝐙𝐮𝐳𝐚𝐧𝐚, as well as 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 and the newer members of the team. The kitchen staff do an excellent job too, even though they seldom meet the customers in person.

I commissioned a cake recently, and I was completely blown away by the appearance. Naaem takes into account everything that you request whilst almost making some helpful suggestions. Thank you for turning my vision into reality. The cake was beautiful and tasted wonderful, thank you to whole team!

We returned to this traditional English pub for our anniversary, having met there 8 years prior. Great food and plenty of customers for a mid-week lunch is a nod to the landlord, who was super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back for our next anniversary, if not before!

The garden is sheltered from the wind and a bit of a sun trap. We spent a beautiful afternoon relaxing, chatting and soaking in the atmosphere of the garden over a couple of bottles of wine. Dog friendly (outside) too and the staff were friendly and warm. We made some cherished memories there and will be back again. Thank you.

The staff here are rather cheeky, and I left feeling like I'd been ripped off. I ordered a half-pint of San Miguel but was served a full pint of something that tasted like a shandy. When I mentioned the mistake, they assured me I would only be charged for the half-pint I actually wanted. When the bill came, however, I was charged £5 for a "small shandy." Five pounds for half a pint of what is essentially beer with lemonade? It's absurd. I paid because I didn't want to cause a scene, but it felt like a deliberate bait-and-switch. The food was tasty, I'll give them that, but the portion was quite small for the price. Honestly, save your money. There are plenty of other places that deserve your business where you won't leave feeling like you've been taken for a fool.

Comida increíble - como siempre. Deliciosa - comida sabrosa, sabores auténticos. Nunca tenemos una mala comida aquí es mi favorita. Disfruté del entrante loukaniko & halloumi, giroscopios de pollo para principal y un café de postre, ya que estaba demasiado lleno para más comida tristemente!

Ordered food as i witnessed the plated gold they were bringing out for others. I was not disapointed. All the staff were so happy and welcoming it got me excited about the food and my time here very nice regulars, and the randoms that came in (like me) left with a smile. Very clean toilets clean bars and tables. Very nice ye olde interior alot of history. Thank you !

Staff are always lovely, I can highly recommend the caramel cappuccino and and the cheese and bacon turnovers!!. Lovely location. Not a bad word to say about it.

My favourite pub to drink and eat whilst in Matlock. Lots of selection of drinks and food is great, sunday roast always nice. Plenty of room to sitincsidr but also bit of seating outside.

Great meal! The food was lovely, there was a great range to the menu, the service was quick, polite, helpful and went above and beyond, and the restaurant had a great atmosphere.

We pre ordered our food yet still it was wrong, service was slow, staff were rude and the food was cold. Vegetables served with the Sunday roast were very small portions and it wasn’t made clear how many people they were supposed to be shared between. After all this they still had the nerve to add a service charge to our bill! Do not recommend.
