The best restaurants in England

A fantastic hotel with outstanding staff! We arrived late in the evening and needed four rooms. We were assisted by two incredibly friendly gentlemen, one of whom, if I remember correctly, was named Jason. We only had to wait five minutes for our room keys, and during that time, we were kindly offered a drink. Jason then informed us that, unfortunately, the hotel did not have a restaurant, but they provided a shuttle service to the city center. We took advantage of this, and what an amazing service it was! 10/10 for the service and staff!

First visit for a pop up Sunday lunch, the food was incredible! Im really quite a foodie so this doesn't come lightly. Best sunday lunch ive had in a very long time. Accommodated my dog even though the venue is very small! We wanted a after dinner tipple - whiskey or such. The person taking care of us suggested a cocktail menu in the future. I strongly advised against this as may draw in a different clientèle. Very homely, warm, and very family run vibes. LOVE.

Came in at 7pm today with my pet sheep, met with a Lovely Lady with Blue Hair "either Jemma or Brendos" was her name. She pet my sheep and brought him over some water and his wool got so excited he rolled on the floor and started quacking like a Giraffe. I admired the surrounding areas and had a lovely up stairs area where a group of Indians was doing the Macarena while drinking a very refreshing mojito! After taking a seat on the floor "Jemma" came over and suggested Coca Cola or the option to hit the "5" button on the remote control for the television. Upon leaving my sheep had a dodgy fall and some tall animated character came over and brushed his teeth for him. Will return.

I think it’s a laugh in here. everybody smiles laughs gets along. You can buy gifts and jewellery , food too! It’s like a little cave , also fresh pastries that look incredible and taste divine

Lovely, warm, homely place that serve really Italian food. nothing fancy but fresh ingredients, precise cooking skills.

So good.. the cheese and bacon savoury was amazing! Greggs doesn’t even come close!

Excellent! Went with my partner for lunch this week. We both had the £5 burrito which was excellent value. Partner said his rice could have been cooked a bit more but other than that, perfect. Worth the money. The Cajun fries are delicious and they cook them to perfection. We will return.

What a place! Great real ales, excellent home made pasties and open fires . There's also an impressive mead selection and commodes for chairs. Great place for a lazy pub day with the dog

Lovely meal during our short weekend away. This was such a great find. We were staying at Frensham Spa which was a short drive away. The food was excellent!!! The waiter was really good at recommending dishes. Our six year old son was also very impressed and was very full after the meal. Definitely would visit again.

Review for Franky’s Fish Bar (Lincoln, LN2 2PD): I recently visited Franky’s Fish Bar to grab some takeaway, and my experience was mixed. Two of the staff members were polite and professional, but the lady who initially took my order was very unprofessional. She rushed me through the process, making it difficult to focus and decide what I wanted. It’s disappointing when one person’s behavior brings down the overall experience, especially when the rest of the team seemed fine. I hope this feedback helps improve consistency in customer service moving forward.

Visited this place many times and usually all ok BUT when myself my wife and our granddaughter visited today (sat 22/02/25 )one of your staff was so bad mannered as we entered we waited downstairs for a table at this time some customers was leaving and left the door open so one of the staff looked at me and said in a loud voice CLOSE THE DOOR my answer was I didn't,t leave it open I would have closed the door but only with a please a member of staff with a bad attitude that's going to cost you customers.

Best chippy in Hereford by a country mile

We have been going to the taj for the last 3yrs rather than the one in our village in blyth . This is because the quality of meat and flavours mixed with the quality of service, ambience and consistency sets it out in front for us as we must go at least 3 times a month and never let down. Well done mo and the staff keep up the excellent work.👍
