The best restaurants serving Vegetarian food in North West

It's about 3 years since I last visited - pre covid and wow how it has changed. The outside space had been totally transformed with fountains and fairy lights. The little herb garden is full of flowers that you can see have been lovingly home grown, not bought from a garden centre for show. And that reflects the food too. A great selection of healthy vegan food with care taken to make it look good before you even taste it. Great friendly welcome without pretention. I defy anyone not to love the relaxing outside spaces. I am very pleased to once again give this little place a big rating.

I've been put off returning after contending with two other female customers sat at another table far to close to me who constantly spoke about some other woman's baby who although only fairly new born had been taken swimming! I also had bright sunshine in my face and was unable to get out the sun or away from these overbearing customers until I'd finished eating. The stairs are steep to climb and too difficult while carrying any heavy bag of shopping and the café can get too busy so crowded for my liking. It also once served me smoked salmon so it isn't vegetarian or wasn't then, this was a few years ago now. I've also been given cold soup that had obviously just been quickly reheated in a microwave when it was just slightly warm around the edges! I did return and mentioned it to a male member of staff who then let me off paying for whatever I ordered then. This was when a couple with a young family ran the café.

Good food from a well-planned menu which changes from time to time. Ingredients are of very high quality and the preparation and presentation are to a high standard.

Me and my husband booked a table for the Platinum Jubilee Jam night. It was a warm and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is quite quirky and different, with mismatched tables and chairs. I love it! The food is great whether you are a veggie or not. We had Onion Bhajis for starter...the best I have ever tasted! Then Mushroom and Veggie Curry...delicious, followed by Ice cream sundae! Very reasonable prices too! The Live Music Jam started later in the evening, giving us plenty of time to finish our meal, first. It was a lively and inclusive event, giving people the chance to get up and sing or play if they wanted to. It was a proper live music gig run by a local band, 432 acoustic Duo, who provided instruments for the audience to join in. So glad we went! We will certainly be back!

The Garden Eatery is amazing in Hale! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warmth and kindness by the wonderful staff—especially Sarah and Kirsty, who go above and beyond to make every visit special. The cafe is spotless, beautifully maintained, and has a charming, inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail in the food is outstanding, with every dish presented with care and dedication. Their coffee is fantastic smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed. But the real star? The lemon raspberry cake loaf! It’s the perfect balance of zesty and sweet, an absolute must-try. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with exceptional service, delicious food, and a welcoming vibe, The Garden Eatery is the place to be. Highly recommend!

We have visited this tea room before when in the area. Excellent choice of teas, coffees, and food. If you have room, have one of the delicious cakes. Great service. On your way out, visit their shop to purchase some teas, coffees & provisions.

Been past a few times on the bus and finally got round to trying this today. So glad we did! Lovely food, really friendly staff and absolutely fine for wheelchair access :)

Qué lugar tan encantador y qué hallazgo. Gran servicio, buena gama de cervezas y aperitivos. Tenemos un lugar de primera junto a un fuego de carbón, ambiente acogedor y acogedor. Buen personal. Had a great bacon butty, coffee and shortbread all served by a lovely member of staff called Val. She was really friendly, and seemed to really enjoy engaging with folks. A nice experience.

Went today with my wife & granddaughter but we were disgusted by the shameful neglect of the poor animals. Firstly the guinea pigs were in poor health with infected eyes , fur missing etc. We next saw the hens who were that hungry they were trying eat grass and please see pics attached as the water looked like sewer water it was the dirtiest water I've ever seen. No excuses it was disgusting we could smell it! Next there was a hen coup we think it once was, please again see photos as it had a poor solitary rabbit in its own faeces with inches deep of rabbit droppings on the floor. No food again but rancid smelly green water. I review on the Facebook site but got blocked as did my wife. We have been messaged by numerous people going back from July 23 who equally reported and voiced concerns and have been repeatedly ignored. My wife spent an hour on the fone to the rspca who have said they'll look into it. We have information of a friend who did similar last July but Riverside Organics have done nothing!
