Me and my husband booked a table for the Platinum Jubilee Jam night. It was a warm and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is quite quirky and different, with mismatched tables and chairs. I love it! The food is great whether you are a veggie or not. We had Onion Bhajis for starter...the best I have ever tasted! Then Mushroom and Veggie Curry...delicious, followed by Ice cream sundae! Very reasonable prices too! The Live Music Jam started later in the evening, giving us plenty of time to finish our meal, first. It was a lively and inclusive event, giving people the chance to get up and sing or play if they wanted to. It was a proper live music gig run by a local band, 432 acoustic Duo, who provided instruments for the audience to join in. So glad we went! We will certainly be back!

The reputation of this establishment has been good from people who visited . So i thought i would take my partner as a surprise and boy was i surprised. I looked on line to try to book a table and it said open 7 o'clock so i tried to phone. No answer so i travelled the 8 miles to get there before it opened. Got there at 7 on the dot . No lights chairs on tables . Me and my partner were very disappointed. Maybe able to right a proper review when we actually eat there 🤔

This little Gem is still great after all these years. We booked for a Saturday night and was delighted to return since before Lockdown. The staff were lovely. Very polite, knowledgeable and curious. We are not vegetarians but love the food. Samosas and curry all round with a glass of wine or two. Would not hesitate to recommend Jim's and look forward to returning very soon.

Me and my husband visited last night, we had a lovely evening and every course was amazing, we had a mezze style starter to share, the famous Gado Gado and vegan brownies for dessert. Emily is now the cook and is managing everything at Jim's, she is doing a fabulous job, well done! Such a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to all the staff last night for making our visit lovely.

My partner had been telling me about this restaurant for ages and he finally booked us in.. the pictures id seen looked rather lacklustre, but in reality it's lovely inside, the decor and equipment is minimalist and retro, Everything is mismatched: tables/chairs, linen, dinnerware, glassware, there's woodchip wallpaper.. it all works though and is part of the charm of the place. I had a giggle looking through into the kitchen at the 80's style oven/grill and wondering how on earth everyone was getting fed.. but from what I gather the owner has been running this place since before I was born.. so I guess it works! This is not a place to get a quick bite, due to the very limited opening hours it is very busy so expect to wait a while to eat.. it's part of the experience though and the waiting staff regularly checked up on us to see if we needed anything. I think a lot of the customers are regular/returning.. it's a very relaxed crowd of mostly 40-50's hippies. The menu is small, which I like to see.. as I've worked in kitchens, generally the smaller the menu, the fresher the ingredients. Food was tasty and portion size perfect. This is proper home cooked food.. don't expect any fancy presentation, just a tasty wholesome veggie or vegan meal. This place is unpretentious, prices are very reasonable.. we paid about £43 for 3 glasses of wine, 3 soft drinks, 1 starter, 2 main courses and two desserts and we spent a little over two hours there. Highly reccomend checking it out.

What you get at Jim's is good food, excellent service, and a great atmophere, your made to feel welcome from the moment you step through the door, OK nothing matches, and it's quite basic but who care's. the total experience and atmosphere makes up for that. Highly recommended

My friend and I went to Jim's the other Saturday night and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening in this unique place - a lovely meal and great service. There's nowhere like Jim's - long may he and it continue!

Used to go to Jim years ago but hadn't been for some time. Went for a birthday treat. Good call. Just the same as I remember. Chilled out and delicious. Good old Jim's.

We live locally so have been going to Jim’s for years. The place is a bit dingy, chairs and table don’t match, crockery and cutlery don’t match, service can be slow, and I suppose really it’s a bit expensive for what it is, but the place has a relaxed atmosphere, the food is usually very tasty (especially the veg and mushroom curry) and you have to book because it gets busy. I’m not a vegetarian but would recommend visiting here if you’re in town. It’s only open first weekend of the month or when there is a festival on in Colne.

I have been coming here for over 20years and to be honest nothing has changed. Its just the perfect laid back place to go for the most amazing vegetarian food. The chop suey roll is my absolute favourite and the specials are always a treat. Everything here is haphazzard and nothing matches but thats the querkiness of Jims. I love it and will be back again soon

Both myself and Tracy had one of the best tasting curries. I am normally a meat eater but this was a whole new chapter for me. Great Service really reasonable price and most important the food and setting could not be faulted. Great owner polite hard working staff , thanks for a great blues festival on Colne .

This is an interesting concept - acoustic cafe that caters for vegetarians - but it was disappointing. The menu looked interesting and we were really looking forward to eating there during the Rhythm and Blues Festival but despite wanting to support vegetarian places, the standard was poor and not value for money. The young staff didn't appear to know what they were doing, bit chaotic in the kitchen and serving. System not obvious - we went to the kitchen to order when no one came, and were told to take a seat. Could it be that Jim has taken his eye off the ball?? Nice place but a bit tired and not too clean. Won't be going back, which is a shame as there doesnt appear to be any other vegetarian specific restaurant in Colne.

A friend and I visited Colne during the Blues Festival in Colne and stumbled upon this venue whilst looking for afternoon refreshments and returned for a meal the next day. It's a gorgeous place to eat. The atmosphere is relaxed and the decor although not modern is reminiscent of many of my favourite places before the introduction of chain eateries and the subsequent bland environments. The food is just delicious, well cooked and you can tell that these recipes have been developed and honed to perfection without pretentiousness. I'd definitely return and would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for good wholesome food anytime.

Fuimos a un pariente de cumpleaños. El menú lo suficientemente interesante y sonaba el lugar es bastante muy bien adornada, así que estaba deseando ir. No vale 8 libras, básicamente. Era el tipo de cosas que me gustaría hacer en casa para uso personal en el refrigerador mientras mi mujer ve en, indignado.Algún tipo de proyecto en amargo naylors aunque si mal no recuerdo. Todavía tenía una risa, pero no me pareció un buen lugar para comer. Tuvimos una comida mejor en el triángulo rojo en Burnley una vez para alrededor de la mitad del precio.

La simpIe pero increíblemente sabroso asado con patatas un chapuzón mayonesa que tuve como entrante era simplemente delicioso y mi plato de arroz con curry y un yogur de menta en el lado era excelente. No recuerdo el nombre de la esposa de nuestro amigo plato pero ella estaba entusiasmado tanto sobre lo bueno que era que todos tenían un gusto - y fue! Tuvimos una gran cafetiere de café que sirven los cuatro de nosotros y nos quedamos estupefactos al ver el precio en la factura era muy modesto. Optamos por Okonomiyaki como la descripción de sonido increíble lo hizo. Muy decepcionante, el tamaño de la porción era diminuta, honestamente puedo decir que me tuve que comer patatas fritas de puerta para llevar junto a unos 30 minutos más tarde. Que necesita rectificar ya que es importante para la alabanza donde es debido. Mi marido es vegetariano, aunque yo no soy y nos preguntábamos esto con agricultores de carne local. Nos preguntó si habíamos visto Jim's Cafe. Cuando nos dijo que no teníamos, nos invitó. WOW, simplemente wow! El exterior es algo para nada ostentoso, pero una vez a través de la puerta, simplemente encantado. El ambiente era muy agradable y la decoración era individual y personal - un cambio increíblemente bienvenida de los restaurantes de cadena y conversiones indentikit pub. Quemadores de madera original había mesas y sillas, pomos y el efecto era magnífico. Nuestros amigos agricultores que han ido a Jim's Cafe anteriormente dijo que casi nada había cambiado en los últimos 20 años. Mi marido me comento que si algo es tan justo, que no sería necesario realizar cambios agregando que sentimos como si estuviésemos en vacaciones en algunos serendipity teníamos descubierto. Nuestro pastel de chocolate con flan de 'real' sólo era "deliciosos". Nuestros amigos compartimos una ración de queso con galletas y frutas pero no podía terminar incluso cuando nos unimos. El servicio fue un gran saldo de bienvenida y amabilidad sin familiaridad, sin intrusión y perfectamente superado entre campos. La música de fondo era relajante y lo suficientemente ruidoso para disfrutar pero aún así permitir que todos nosotros para charlar sin distracción. Toda la experiencia fue absolutamente magnífico - diferente, agradable, comida deliciosa y aunque nuestro amigo insistió en tratar a nosotros, mi marido capturado la vista de la factura. Vine aquí para mi 30 con mi familia. Ser vegetariano me quedé anonadado como normalmente me cuesta encontrar algo para comer en otros lugares. No nos defraudó! ! Todo el mundo disfrutó de su comida aunque yo era el único de los vegetarianos. Encontraron algo que disfrutamos mucho! I've been to Jims for the last 15 years and still really enjoy it. A small but varied menu, whatever you choose will be tasty and the setting is friendly/cosy. Thank you Jim :)

Mis amigos y yo hemos sido clientes habituales en Jim's por años. Muchos de nosotros somos de carne, pero jim y menú atención al sabor nunca han dejado la sensación de que nos falta algo. as we are trying to lose a few pounds before our holiday I thought that a Vegetarian restaurant would be more healthy than a pub meal as I wanted something different to a chicken salad and jacket potato... as this was our first and I might add last visit I was disappointed at the lack of imagination on the menu, I used to work at a vegetarian boarding school 20 yrs ago and the food was fabulous. we had a choice of 5 main's... Spaghetti bolognese, Curry, Omelette, Salad and can't remember but all are easy cook at home dishes no imagination what so ever. We got there just after 7 when it opens there's only 2 of us and it was an hour and a half to have a starter and main course. I'm afraid to say I went home hungry as they were not the most generous size dishes and I have a small appetite

Reservamos este restaurante para mis hermanas comida de cumpleaños, en una noche de viernes. Había 9 en nuestro grupo lo que hizo un gran ambiente. Gracias a Dios no porque la comida de verdad era muy pobre y la cocina parecía incapaz de servir una mesa de 9, sin olvidar al menos dos de las comidas. Había una buena selección de entrantes, pero el plato principal fue una selección de 3. Mis hermanas patata han supuesto principal era básicamente cebolla un montón con col y patatas en la parte superior de líquido debajo... 2 platos principales que llegamos (después de todo el mundo había terminado la suya) eran tan picante caliente que podría haber sido cualquier cosa... No comer en otros restaurantes vegetarianos que todos superar este en cuanto a la comida por un kilómetro. Agradecemos la idea es ser peculiar y diferente y que de hecho no es excusa, pero esta comida atroz. En efecto una vista rápida a la cocina sugiere que era como mucho caos como el servicio. Mi marido y yo fuimos hace unas semanas y volví la semana siguiente. La comida era deliciosa. Ninguno de nosotros es vegetariano. Ambos disfrutamos del ambiente y la música. Todo el personal fue encantador. Hacía un poco de frío allí, pero pronto se calentó. Su restaurante, no su peculiar y diferente. Nos encantó.

Un lugar peculiar muy acogedora, con familias y un perro! Todos bienvenidos. Me encantó la comida, realmente acogedor y muy sabroso. Magnífico servicio amable. Desgraciadamente no hay música improvisada, pero bien vale la pena visitar. Es un lugar confiable para amigos y familia para disfrutar de una buena cena para vegetarianos.

No hemos estado en Jim por años, debe ser de al menos 10 años de edad, ahora estamos pensando en cómo seas bobo no volver. El lugar no ha cambiado mucho, tiene una ecléctica bohemia peculiar tipo de ambiente, lo cual es fantástico, te sientes relajados. Me encanta la decoración años de recolección, dibujos, fotografías, mesas y sillas, mesa trapos, nada se ajusta pero eso es parte del encanto. Nos encontramos con unos amigos que no son incluso vegetariano y rápidamente nos llevaron a nuestra mesa, una muy amable joven muchacho, menús y bebidas pedido.

Restaurantes y cafeterías tan bueno como Jim es muy raro. muchas veces se puede encontrar en el "fresco" zonas de ciudades como Manchester y Leeds, pero te cobrarán a través de la nariz y a menudo carecen de los sin esfuerzo, acogedor ambiente íntimo que siempre está presente en Jim's.

He estado viniendo aquí durante años y me encanta! Pero esta noche fue una llamada de despertador! Mi novia entré y me preguntó si había una mesa para cuatro personas. Un grosero chico respondió no, y luego se convirtió y cerrar la puerta en nuestra cara. Todos estábamos fuera hacia la izquierda, atónitas y un poco austada, así que tuvimos que buscar otro sitio para comer. ¿Dónde está el amor que estamos acostumbrados a Jims!?

No ha estado aquí por unos cuantos años pero al regreso fue tan deliciosos como lo recordaba. Peculiar sería la mejor descripción del lugar. Nada iguala pero eso es parte de su atractivo. Menú no es grande, pero todo está muy bueno y por el aspecto del lugar muy popular. Grupo de 10 eran todos muy contentos con el tamaño de la porción y la calidad de la comida seleccionado. los vegetarianos si no cenamos en Jims te estás perdiendo una delicia. No comer a sabrosa comida vegetariana sana. Primera clase.

Live local, Even though i'm not Vegetarian, Love Jim's Veg Restaurant. Always an excellent meal and well kept Beer. Highly Recommended!

Mi media naranja y yo vamos allí todo el tiempo, y encanta. Es un ambiente acogedor con una excelente comida. Sí, el menú no es amplio pero que cambia cada semana. Nunca he tenido una mala comida y he estado viniendo aquí durante un número de años.

Menú limitado pero bien elegido, con una buena variedad, con productos locales. Un personal amable, un buen servicio. Acogedor, ligeramente decoración estrafalaria. Muy pequeña, la mitad de espacio café justificado, la otra mitad incorporar un lugar de música acústica (estuve allí durante el festival de blues y dos cantante/guitarristas decentes oír de blues). Vi una familia con niños pequeños que parecía bastante contentos con su comida y actividades.

Lovely vegetarian menu, very tasty, and very unique surroundings it is definitely a cafe, set in the side street of Colne. If you don't know it is there you have to search or ask a local. Some nights they have live music too

Ha hablado sobre jims algún día así que decidimos dejar por los domingos por la noche. Llegamos media hora después de abrir y el lugar estaba vacío. Buen ambiente, música de fondo, peculiar malos y muebles diseminados alrededor. El servicio es bueno y educado. ... excelente menú opciones y ... haciendo de variedad de toma de decisiones un poco difícil. Comida llegó recién preparado en el momento oportuno, degustación bien. La factura total era sorprendente y merece la pena. La primera vez aquí, pero no cabe duda de que no es la última vez!

I was pleasantly surprised with my visit to Jim's. The prices are really reasonable too... My only complaint would be that there no diet drinks which is no good where you're on Slimming World 😐

Hemos visitado 3 veces recientemente y nos lo pasamos de maravilla en cada visita, singular es la palabra, en una buena manera por supuesto! El precioso comida vegetariana, buena selección de cerveza y vino, ambiente relajado combinado, significa que volveremos muy pronto. Aunque no verduras nosotros mismos no importó un poco, intentarlo!

Una gran noche siempre tenía cuando nos visite este restaurante. La comida está recién preparada y de un nivel muy alto, el vino y la cerveza son excelentes (una ale siempre están disponibles). El personal es relajado y atento pero nunca teniendo. El ambiente es único y relajante con estufas de leña, velas y decoración moderna. La única persona que estropear tu noche aquí sería ... verdaderamente único, relajante y magdalena experiencia gourmet.

My first time here and the Japanese Kare was delicious and filling, as was the Bhaji starter. Cannot be faulted. Been a vegetarian for years, so I've tasted some good stuff and Jim's food was right up there at the top with the best.

We go to Jim's regularly on our own and with friends. The range of vegetarian cooking is unparalleled in our experience and Jim usually has a few good bottles of wine around in addition to the house - extremely good value

Sí, a veces puede que tengas que esperar un poco, pero ya sabes, todo está siendo preparado a pedido. Siempre es increíble y sabroso, y cómo alguien puede mantener reinventar el menú crudite tiene un don. A menudo comer fuera y, en verdad, nunca me había oído de Jim es hasta hace poco. Nos registramos algunos comentarios en Tripadvisor y son principalmente excelente. No he escrito una crítica antes, pero el último comentario aquí me parece ser el Polo opuesto a nuestra experiencia, así que pensé que podría quebrar mi pato. Supongo que la persona reservamos con fue Jim y fue muy amable. No era un problema cuando llamamos a cambiar la hora de la reserva. Cuando llegamos, una señorita nos enseñó a nuestra mesa y tomó nota. El lugar es como la mayoría de los restaurantes por aquí y creo que esto es intencional. Tiene realmente te sientes como en casa, con algunos trabajos de arte muy interesante y cosas en las paredes. La música que estaba tocando toda la noche fue genial y realmente nos fuimos con la sensación del lugar. Las bebidas llegamos y la casa red era muy agradable. Pedimos un plato principal y una cada una. No nos llevará en unos 15 minutos para los principiantes en salir, pero el lugar estaba bastante concurrido y sin duda era todo recién hecho así que si es bastante corta espera que algunos basura pescado cocido ser plonked delante de mí dos minutos después pedí! Teníamos un Chop suey roll y un hummus pitta con salsa chili. Ambos eran excelentes, en particular el Chop suey de rollo que era diferente de lo que yo esperaba. Fue brotes de soja, setas, cebollas y tomates en una deliciosa salsa envuelto en un chapati. Excelente. Para los platos principales que tuvimos un curry crudite que era mejor que muchos de los restaurantes indios por aquí y peruano montaña patatas que venía en una cursi con una salsa col casa hecha. Ambos realmente eran excelentes. No hay un gran menú, pero otra vez preferiría un par de platos hecho fresco y muy bien de una enorme variedad de recalentados basura. Si eres una carne como creo que soy y estás preocupado por ir vegetariano definitivamente no te pierdas la carne en Jim's. No tuvimos un postre como estábamos demasiado lleno! Sin duda volveremos otra vez por lo que intentaremos la próxima vez. Cuando la factura era fue sorprendentemente barato. Nos fuimos un consejo para la chica que servía nosotros después de revisar los consejos fui directamente a los camareros y no en la madrugada como algunos lugares. Vale cada céntimo. Lo siento por el largo crítica, pero estoy tratando de incluyen todo. Podría llegar a fine art si escribo algunos más!

as of recent i ordered a meal and a drink from the young casual waitresses that frequent this place on a casual high turn over basis .My drink never arived within 1 hour , i questioned the young girl involved and she said that she had given me the one pint orderd . I had not recieved my drink , and when the cafe owner.a mr jim walker came to my table he was both surly and arrogant , and said i was a liar in front of a full table of people ,when he left the people at my table said that in thier opinion the owner suffers from terrible mood swings and often vents his anger on customers , i had not recieved the benifit of any doubt and i suspect the young girl gave my drink to another customer,i would say that its time for this cafes owner to move on and find some other kind of work away from the public , ps i paid for two pints yet only drank one!!

Nunca he tenido una mala comida o experiencia aquí - ambiente es genial y aunque normalmente no me gusta la música de fondo las selecciones de Jim siempre son de primera clase! selección de vinos es siempre buena comida siempre excelente no puedo recomendarlo. Si tienes la oportunidad, ve!!

Normalmente intenta conseguir aquí unos 3 o 4 veces al año y no me decepcionó. La comida es preparado a pedido y es delicioso, sí, es un pequeño menú, pero lo que es importante es la calidad y sabor de la comida y el ambiente.

He estado en este restaurante muchas veces a lo largo de los años y nunca me ha decepcionado. En esta ocasión nos tenían una de las ofertas especiales en oferta que era un nuevo plato y nos pareció que estaba delicioso. Toda la comida es fresca y preparada a su gusto. El servicio era bueno y la camarera era servicial y amable a pesar de estar ocupado con otros clientes. Recomiendo encarecidamente que si quieres una helada noche en un ambiente relajado.

Attentive service could not be faulted, food was carefully thought out and authentic (not just the regular pasta on offer for vegetarian food).the place is quirky as previous reviews stated, it is carried off well! the wait for food was the regular amount of time for fresh cooked food and worth the wait . would recommend for serious veggie folk :)

Ha pasado un tiempo desde que he regresado pero tengo que decir que no sé por qué me esperó tanto tiempo. La comida es absolutamente de muerte, está llena de sabores, es muy abundante y está acompañada con algunos muy buen vino de la casa.

bien normalmente si Aint carne en el plato me dirijo mi nariz y a pie. Pero, la comida aquí es que sabroso no te das cuenta la ausencia de la carne! entrante, peruanos patatas de Samosa y la tarta de manzana Como poster tomará todos regados con vino a un precio razonable. La vajilla no coincide con las mesas y bamboléate hasta cuchillos y tenedores son plata, pero eso es todo lo que tienen en común. Pero a quién le importa! buena música y gran atmos junto con la sabrosa comida. confirmar el autobús Ansa. máquina 2 libro pero no te Ring 2.

Pensamos volver aquí para nuestras niñas noche y estaba satisfecho con las comidas nos dieron cuando llegaron. Posiblemente sea necesario un poco más variedad en los menús pero aparte de eso, todos disfrutamos nuestras comidas. Sin embargo, el servicio dejó que la noche debido a la espera de la comida que venía y bebidas siendo renovados durante toda la noche. Volveremos pronto.

Si quieres que coincidan con platos, cubiertos y vasos éste no es el lugar para ti. Si lo que quieres es fantástica comida y un ambiente increíble es el lugar para estar. no hay una larga lista de platos pero sea lo que sea en el menú es siempre bien cocinada, bien presentada, aunque no en juego los platos. El sabor combinación son increíbles y nunca nos ha decepcionado cuando hemos estado. Sin duda peculiar pero se lo recomendaría a cualquiera.

Just been here for open mic night. Great food served bohemian style cooked by two young girls. Goats cheese garlic bread was to die for. Mike & Chris played great music both with great voices that moved you. Can't wait to return for the whole experience. Don't be put off by bohemian style the food is presented well & the kitchen is spotless.

We went on a Friday which was not over busy but nice and steady. This was our irate visit, I am vegetarian but hubby not. We enjoyed what we had, but I cannot rave that it was the best vegetarian food because it was not. The cost of our meal with drinks and without starters would have cost the same at a restaurant we go to and I need to say we would have been given a larger portion. To be honest we nearly did not go inside, the red blinds and old red curtains on the door let the appearance down. It is in need of a revamp inside also. Doubt I would return.

For over a quarter of a century, Jims has been a haven for Veggies. Cosy, welcoming and great value. Perfect!

Great food selection. As I am not a vegetarian, it was good food & plenty of it, I didn't have room for dessert, but the ones being served to other customers looked good.

Went here last night after many years. Same menu, not vast but plenty of tasty options. It was packed full so best to book. Really reasonable and loved the atmosphere and fresh food. Would definitely recommend

After a gap of some 12 years we've been back to Jim's three times now in the last year (we live a long way away). It's like going home, wonderful food, brilliant ambience, Jim himself putting an appearance in when all the food has been served. Some people call him Jim Skaffy (think about it) but the whole team there make the place buzz with delight and I just wish we still lived up that way!

Love this place. Been coming for nearly 15 years and it never fails to impress.The food is tasty, fresh and fun. Not a huge choice of dishes which is why you are guaranteed quality every time. Food is cooked fresh to order and always tastes exquisite. Really reasonable prices, lovely drinks and great puddings.I cannot rave enough!

Dined here with local friends and was pleasantly surprised. Low budget homely decor, warm and inviting on a cold winters night. Excellent service and lovely food. 3 courses with wines and beers - £84. Would not hesitate to return.

Love the welcoming, cosy atmosphere here with the wood-burning stove, the warm lighting, & eclectic furniture.The food is tasty, healthy & imaginative. Jim also has good beer & wine & often holds music evenings. It's a real Colne institution, in the good sense of the word!

If you are wanting quick service, sophisticated surroundings and matching plates this is not the place for you, however if you want a meal that will make you feel better about the world go to Jims. The menu is simple (Vegetarian) with approx 6 starters £3-4, 4 mains £7-8, 4 puddings £3-4 and wine/beer/soft drinks. The food tastes fresh, is inventive and filling! Atmosphere is relaxed and cheerful. Fantastic value...even for meat eaters!

Jims cafe.... We are regulars and I can say it is AMAZING! Jess who is our regular waitress is amazing! The food is like something you would get at a top London vegetarian restaurant! The prices are very fair, the adverse starter being £3 and main £7! This restaurant eases my partner and I into the weekend, with its soulful music and smooth atmosphere! A hidden gem!

If you think you've tasted the best vegetarian food in the UK and you've not yet visited Jim's then you'd better make a visit soon. It is superb. Nothing compares. The food is fresh, innovative and tasty and i'm a meat eater. The wine and beer are excellent too. A little gem hidden away up a steep back street certainly puts Colne firmly on the vegetarian map. And if it's good music you want then you have come to the right place too with regular open mike nights and great music on regular evenings.

I have been coming here regularly with both friends and my partner for three years and have always been given superb food and service. The restaurant atmosphere reminds me of a cool, London bistro. The house wine (both red and white) is also very good. I would highly reccomend it to both veggies and carnivores alike! See you again soon, Jim!

First time here. Great food, Great night, staff were very friendly would recommend Jims Cafe to anyone as none of our party were vegetarian but everyone loved the food and drink. Great to have such a relaxed atmosphere. Will certainly be going back.

I have been visiting Jims Cafe for over 25 years,i am not a vegetarian by any means,but the food is so good it does not matter,when i started going all those years ago it was a very basic place,well it still is!But the food was delicious,good local ales,think it was self service back then as well,there was a piano & a guitar if you fancied a go!Also there was a record player in the corner,which you could go & select a record to play,all that has gone now,but the quality of the place is still the same,bit rough & ready but who cares,this is in Colne.Many happy memories there,& many more to come,will be back for the August Blues Festival where there are always some good acts on.Cheers Jim.

It's not a pretty restaurant, and the service is slow but always friendly. The food is tasty and I have never been disappointed. It's not expensive to eat or drink and there is a relaxed atmosphere. I have enjoyed eating at Jim's many times and never leave feeling bloated. I would recommend that if you like a large meal order an extra side.

Myself and a group of girls been enjoying the food at Jim's for years. Had a meal there last night, the food was delicious, service good and quick. Cannot fault the place and can't wait to dine again there soon

Went to Jim's on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed. Excellent food at great value prices in a comfortable relaxed environment. When I booked I was warned there was a large party coming in at 7:30 so I got there early and received excellent friendly and quick service. No doubt if I had arrived later things would have been a lot slower but hey, chill, not everything has to be fast food. Sadly I was dining on my own this time but I wasn't made to feel bad for that like in many restaurants - I was given a good table with plenty of space for me to read the many brochures I had picked up at the local tourist info.

visited jims tonight as part of a group booking. As an avid meat eater I was apprehensive to only have a vegetarian choice, disappointed?? not at all, food was wonderfully tasty and to top it all off it was open mic night and the majority of the acts were fantastic tonight and all of us left feeling we had a brilliant night!well done Jim :-)

Have eaten here on several occasions even though we are not vegetarians (although family members are). Jim's has a good ambiance with excellent food. Only about 3 choices on the menu but all enjoyed the Gado Gado- great mix of flavours as was the Peruvian potatoes. I've no idea what was in the stir fry but the combination of flavours with the satay sauce was exquisite.Next time i will go in my uggs boots & aran jumper and wait patiently for food that is worth the wait. & i hope i can return soon xthe nicest meal i've had in a very long time (and i love eating out)3 courses (we shared the equally lush lumby bumpy choc cake - very large piece with icecream & cream) plus bottle becks came to £13.85 - Bargain!!!

Eaten a Jims( formerly Jims Caf) for approx the past 15yrs, and always find the food scrummy even tho i am NOT a veggie ., i tend to have the daily special.The cosy, shabby chic image is perfect for dining with pal/pals and catching up on girlie goss! No the menu isnt extensive but the taste of what is on offer makes up for it .Dont expect a 4* all singing all dancing matching plates type of venue, and you wont be dissapointed .

Whilst the food was once of good quality (even to a committed carnivore like myself), this has steadily declined in terms of variety and flavour over the last few visits. Service was never outstanding, but is now diabloical with staff having to be prompted on 2 or 3 occasions during a meal. The restaurant's only redeeming features are still it's intimacy, and choice of background music, which will be insufficient to keep people coming back. Sort it out Jim, before this once iconic haunt becomes consigned to history.

We went to Jim's sat night a group of seven girls, we had a fantastic evening. The food as always was good. I had the onion Bhaji and vegetable curry with extra chillies which was delicious. The wine is always nice and the service was good too! We have visited Jim's cafe on many occasions and will continue to do so.

I've been to Jim's a few times and always been pleased with it but I've never been on a Sunday before now. We turned up about half seven, the service was friendly...we got our starters very quickly and there was about twenty minutes between courses but it was well worth the wait. The pudding wasn't amazing but the Irish coffee was the best I've ever had, it really was good. Three courses came to about £13- before drinks (we may have had a few)The best bit of the evening was as we were finishing our coffee's a load of musicians started turning up, unbeknowns to us we had stumbled upon the monthly Jam night (I didn't even know they did one). It was an eclectic mix of very talented local musicians who played till about midnight. (we ended up staying all night). It was a lovely, unexpected end to a wonderful evening and we will be making the trip again next month!

I went with a friend on a Friday night and was very surprised at the scale of the menu. There were only 4 main courses two of which were mixed vegetable curry and mixed vegetable and mushroom curry. The service was frustratingly slow (but friendly) and it took about 25 minutes between courses for the food to arrive. My starter i thought was a little overcooked and despite talking to the waitresses about the vegan options on the menu, my main course arrived covered in yoghurt dressing so it had to go straight back. My friend's choice was just a regular salad and nothing special. As one of the other reviewers said on here, we left hungry and i'm ashamed to say went straight to Mcdonalds down the road for chips! I will not be returning to Jim's.

I have eaten here on numerous occasions and previously the food was good quality and filling. Service at this place has always been shall we say laid back. On the last 2 occasions on which I have visited I have left the place still feeling hungary and this is despite having a 3 course meal which wasnt cheap! I had a spaghetti as the main course the last time and the plate consisted of around a tablespoon full of spaghetti and sauce and the rest of the plate was filled up with salad which although was nice and fresh wasnt very filling and I didnt pay for a salad! you may think that I am just a greedy pig but I canbassure you this is not the case I am 5ft 4in and weigh 8 stones. Overall very expensive for what you get and service is slow. Wont give the place another chance.

I was introduced to Jims by several of my non-veggie friends, who absolutely love it. My husband and i have been visitors to 'Jims' over the last 20 years, its has a great relaxed atmosphere, and delicious food, try it once and you keep coming back. Its a mixed menu.. kind of Indian/South American mostly, at our last visit we had samosas with mint and cucumber raita, spicy cheese pittas,a spicy veg dhal laced with chilli and coconut with fried rice and a salad with mango and mint dressing, the cost for starters x4(my husband had a starter for dessert!), mains x2, 1/2 carafe gorgeous white wine and 2 pints of hand pull bitter was £36. Its a treat without breaking the bank.

Do'nt expect matching cutlery and plates jims is what it is good vegetarian food with a good ambience.
