The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Basildon East of England

I had a 50£ platter made up and it was amazing,all fresh and well presented. Good value for money and the winkle ladies are more than helpful to accommodate whatever your looking for. Would highly recommend winkles seafood

We went as a couple, on a recommendation, had a lovely round table, small restaurant from the front, but it was long, went back a long way, we ordered a lovely bottle of wine, olives and bread, I must say, the olives, were the best I have tasted, and the bread was fresh and warm, we opted for the 3 course set lunch menu, I had palma ham, mozzarella, melon and balsamic, which was nice, my husband had scallops, which still had the roes on, which he enjoyed, they were served with a apple salad and it tasted like hoisin sauce, mains I had monkfish and prawns, wasn’t t keen, as no taste in it and my husband had battered cod, it had a strange taste from the oil, desserts were berry Elton mess, which was divine, and apple crumble, which was great, with service charge our bill was £106, which was ok, would definetly go back, but would obviously try different dishes,I think, they change their menu seasonally, service was good, but a couple of times, we did ask, for them to pour more wine, as they take the bottles away,but all in all enjoyed it

I am a regular customer at fish n chicken, and I rate them 1st class very tasty food. But I do think the cardboard boxes they use are a complete waste of money and such a waste in general..the food is literally in the boxes for minutes then thrown away...in todays climate I think they should try going back to the old fashioned way of wrapping fish n chips in paper...fish n chips is so expensive nowadays it may help out a bit with their prices. I bought nuggets tonight and was told instead of 10 they have cut it to 9....cut out the extravagant boxes that would save them reducing the amount? Just a thought

Brought food from here for years always good but seems to have gone down hill chips just about cooked fish was burnt definitely won’t be returning

£29.40 For greasy small portions, my medium cod was small than a goldfish and dripping in oil even my cat walked away from it and large chips was a joke, if it hadn't been raining iwouldof taken it back and demanded money back. Much better chippy 's down other end of town that I'll be using in future.

Ordered large cod and chips. Fish was OK size, but the chips, OMG, literally got about 15 chips. Could not believe it when I got it home. Disgusting considering the cost. Many others have complained about the same thing on local groups. Sort it out!
