£29.40 For greasy small portions, my medium cod was small than a goldfish and dripping in oil even my cat walked away from it and large chips was a joke, if it hadn't been raining iwouldof taken it back and demanded money back. Much better chippy 's down other end of town that I'll be using in future.

I cannot believe from my local fish and chip shop which is closed on a Sunday for three large bags from fish and chicken, of chips would be one by large bag of chips and for £12 which is absolutely disappointing and disgusting. I would never go back again… chips were soggy and disgusting too!

Don’t bother wasting your hard earned money on this overpriced establishment . I like to support local business but this is the last time I pay money to this shop . This is the 3rd consecutive time I have been let down by this shop with the food being substandard. Sorry but you need to re-evaluate the service and quality of food you are serving . And how are you constantly late on your orders . On my last order I made today online though your site , I arrive for you not to even be aware of the order. I then wait a further 15 minutes for you to then miss off an item from my order . I then have to drive back to ask for the missing item without any apology for the mistake and finally get back to then find one of the chicken burgers had the wrong sauce inside it and the family member couldn’t eat the burger as it had mayo inside . It’s really not that had to get these basic things right when the details are on a printed order in front of you . I hope you can make some constructive improvements so other customers don’t experience the level of service I have . Sad regards Lost customer.

I dont very often have fish and chips, but then ever now and then the smell draws you in. But every time I eat here I am totally disappointed, quite often the chips are hard and not cooked enough, pies and sausages dry. Then they charge you alot for the experience. I'm just around the corner, so I did try it several times in the hope it was a one off! but now I will get in my car and drive to town for some decent chips.

Always a welcome smile and great fresh food on demand. Half a chicken and chips is our favourite which is always nice a moist and never dry. Would recommend to anyone.

I left a review for this place four years ago and I could not have been happier with the food back then however the food has really gone downhill. Yesterday we ordered chips, sausage in batter, chicken nuggets, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. The chips were way to small, crispy and dry. There were not enough large and soft chips. Pretty much all of the chips were not very nice. This has been the main problem with the food this last year, the chips. They are just not good enough.The chicken nuggets and sausage in batter had been cooked too fast. The meat inside was barely cooked through but the batter had been overdone and was way too crunchy. The nuggets were also too oily, didn’t taste very nice and had some gristle. The onion rings had been overcooked and could have broken teeth.Also, other people who came in after me, got served before me which was a bit frustrating. This place is not good value for money when the food that you are paying for isn’t cooked properly and isn’t a good quality. This is the closest place to my home but I’m going to give up going here and find a new chip shop.

Love the staff, love the food and good large portions each time. You cannot go away not being pleased with a big smile on your face when you place your food on your plate ready to eat. Great every time and still hot. Yum, yum.

This has got to be the worst chip shop in Essex, they never have any large portions of fish and it’s always far too much trouble for them to cook it on request and that’s usually after a 20 minute wait to be served, as they are usually too busy serving the just eat and Internet orders.

Fish and chips is nice. A strong smell of old oil being reused. However, staff Vicky short changed me of £5 giving me £2.30. When i informed her, she was very rude and stated she was not aware of the deal which was a very large sign of at least a meter wide next to her till and started at 11am which i pointed at when ordering at 1pm. She then cut her eyes at me, askes for another staff to serve me. At this point i was so shocked at her attitude. When she served my chips she was thowing it on and wrapped it up without adding the salt. I reminded her of this, she threw her eyes in the air again then passed the bag to me turning her head away without speaking a word.Very very rude.

Lived here for 14 years and this is nearby. Never really use it much but today the fish was the worst I've ever had. Really dry and tasteless. Such a shame as it's the most local take away to us. Really not impressed

We order 35 fish and chips for a party. They were ready on the dot, piping hot and the fish was incredible! They threw in the condiments and sauces too. Fantastic job!

Vamos a pescado y pollo tomas bastante a menudo ya que la calidad de su pescado y patatas fritas, siempre es muy buena, está bien preparado y su cubierta en una masa crujiente dorada y sus fichas están beautifally caliente también. El personal es muy amable y no tener que esperar mucho tiempo para su comida.

Parece que eran. de escombros en la parte inferior de la barrica. En visitas anteriores el tamaño de las porciones han sido muy pequeñas y la calidad de las patatas fritas es muy 'inconsistente'. Hemos usado el pescado y pollo en la tienda de Wick, con una experiencia mucho Wickford más positiva. . . Mejor calidad de comida. y tamaños mucho más grandes de las porciones.

Usamos este para llevar mucho, ya que está cerca. Nunca he tenido una mala comida desde aquí, siempre de buena calidad, fresca y muy bien preparado. Están dispuestos a hacer pedidos especiales bajo pedido (mi madre no puedo comer el bateador no que preparaban un pescado sin que ella realmente disfruté). Uno de los mejores chippys que he estado.

Was always our go to Fish and Chip shop. Decent value, quality fish. The Southern Fried Chicken is also really good. Just watch it though - can get very busy

Going downhill fast. Hadn't been for a while as wasn't up to usual standard last time. Thought I'd try again but won't bother in the future - would rather go into town or go without.

We have just had a very freshly cooked Cod & Chips from the Wickford branch of Fish & Chicken.

Great local chip shop chain. Fresh fish and always good value. Always looks clean with fast service.

Really not a good chip shop anymore used to be best one but chips now taste rank sometimes not cooked properly. The portions are tiny never seen so few chips much better chip shops in town.

The portions of chips were very large and they were lovely, tasty chips. Nice big, soft, proper chip shop chips. Hardly any crackly ones. The sausage in batter was huge and the batter was good and crispy and cooked perfectly. One of our party had a piece of cod and again this was huge, tasty and cooked really well. The staff were friendly and helpful. It as very good value for money and I'll be going here again.

Good clean chippy with good selection of non-fish if thats not your fancy. Nice crispy batter on the fish (freshly cooked not from the warming cabinet), and well cooked chips.

Worse chippy I have been too small potions. Chips were the scraps will never eat from here again. Only thing that was good was the staff were polite and you can use your card

Good food, good selection and no long waits with plenty of parking. They take payment by card although there is an ATM outside. Polite service too. Not the cheapest around but consistent.

Popped in for a portion of chips Sunday afternoon,the two ladies that were working were very polite and the plaice(ha ha) was very clean.Chips were lovely.Will visit again.

Great to have a fish and chip shop that is as good as Pieces in town on the Wick. Excellent staff, polite and quick service.

Truly the best fish and chip shop, with such a great variety of food. Ribs and chips are my favourite!
