Very disappointed by our visit to this restaurant tonight. Friends had booked having checked online gluten free was available as I’m a coeliac. We arrived stated I was coeliac and we needed gluten free and were taken to a table and presented with menus . When asked about gf the lady said she’d explain shortly . She came back and said we can’t guarantee it’s safe to eat here for coeliacs as cross contamination is an issue . We said it had stated they offered gf options ie pizza etc . She said they do but cross contamination would be the issue. We said but if you offer options are they not prepared separately and she said no cross contamination would occur. We said we would go next door to another restaurant and she just said ok. Later we looked online as my friends said they had checked it out . Comments on their website state “we offer vegan halal gluten free.” It also states “ we prioritise allergen safety with our practices regarding cross-contamination” Although it states “we can’t guarantee an allergen-free kitchen “this is usual and expected however the reference to cross contamination practices would assure us. However in our experience it seems the restaurant doesn’t offer what it states or adhere to the promised practices. It was very disappointing and a gf option did not seem possible from our interaction with the staff member So coeliacs please note. Why she went to the bother of seating us we do not know . She could have said at the desk when we asked at entry instead of the farce of seating us.

A quick Google search found this place as we were at the Kids V&A today. So pleased we ate there. The world’s most chilled waiter was happy to bring out a table and chairs so we could sit outside. The restaurant was rammed, so he literally found us a table! Lovely day, so we were happy to sit out. Service excellent Puzzle incredible Sides scrumptious The only negatives…? They’d run out of cutlery! 🤦♂️😂. We weren’t too bothered but a fork would have been useful for the sides. And the pizza cutter took a while to come out too, so was sat with 3 young and hungry kids waiting a little longer than I’d have liked. So, please invest in a bit more cutlery, and perhaps some cutters too! Otherwise, my wife classifies this as the “best pizza she’s ever had in the UK”!!! And she’s fussy. But it was great pizza with decent service so I’d absolutely recommend and return myself!!!

🚇 Bethnal Green 🍺 £7.10 Rothaus Pils Tucked away on Globe Road in Bethnal Green, you’ll find The Florist Arms. The nearest Tube is Bethnal Green on the Central Line. This pub was built in 1871 and was once a Watney Combe Reid house. The pub still has the Watney’s trademark roundel with stag motif on the side of the building and also some beautiful brown glazed tiles. The pub’s name refers to the former local culture of competitive flower growing introduced by the Huguenots. The Huguenots emigrated to London from France between the 16th-18th centuries. This is cosy one bar pub that is traditionally decorated with some eclectic and contemporary touches. At the centre of the pub is wooden panelled servery with the bar forming a ‘U’ shape around it. The decor consists of a bare boarded floor, a mix of different seating and lighting, red and black flowery wallpaper and some very cool artworks. This independent pub has an excellent selection of beers that included some local London brews and one cask ale. I decided on a Rothaus Pils, my pint was superb, price point was above average. The food option here is Pizza, there are 9 pizzas to choose from, a Margherita costs £10. We arrived just before 2pm on an overcast Saturday afternoon in January. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed with a few other punters in attendance. The service was great, the team member who served us was upbeat, chatty and courteous. This is my second visit to this backstreet local, the first time was a lively packed evening affair, this time was a chilled pub experience, I thoroughly enjoyed both visits equally the same. The excellent selection of beers, popular pizza, local pub vibes and friendly service, make the @florists_arms a must visit if you’re in the area. 📅 18th January 2025 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

The decor nothing to write home about, however, their Friday's special lamb biryani is simply delicious. Authentic, delicious, and highly recommend.

The atmosphere was not as relaxing as we like it when you're out eating. Due to the small place it was pretty loud. I can imagine it could be quite nice with less people... The table was kind of small for three people, the menu cards looked a bit worn and were partly filthy. Service was functional and without compassion or devotion. The food was there after about 5 minutes. Too quick to be made freshly, as we think... The taste was alright, but we often had better Chinese food already. With many dishes rice or noodles were not included and had to be ordered separately. Therefore price is way too high for quantity and quality!
