Stopped in on Saturday afternoon with my daughter and was warmly greeted by the pub's friendly black Labrador (extremely good dog). Didn't have a booking but we were accommodated. Food was great, special mention for the Lamb pie and Halloumi fries. Staff were very friendly. Will deffo be back.

Here's the updated review: I was really disappointed with my visit to Regal Fish and Chips in WGC. The fish was old and crumbly, with an off smell and no taste at all. It actually made me feel sick. Plus, it was overpriced. The staff force you to pay in cash instead of allowing payment by phone or bank card, which seems odd and dodgy. They even have laminated paper saying 'we prefer cash.' The staff was moody, which made the experience even worse. I would NOT recommend this place to eat!

This Punjabi restaurant has a very stylish, comfortable interior. The menu is not hugely extensive but the food is delicious! We really enjoyed our chicken with chillies and chicken with fenugreek. The accompaniments to the poppadoms were tasty too.

Decided to visit for Sunday lunch following a friends recommendation we weren't disappointed. The bread basket that arrived first was so delicous. The roast beef was fabulous. Nice and pink and plenty of it. Our son had the pork and he said it was lovely and jucy. Proper home made huge yorksires and a good veg selection. My son was very happy that the gravy came in a jug as he isn't a huge gravy fan. He really liked the mushroom puree. Deserts were really lovely and presentation was excellent. Absolutely no complaints and we will definitely be back. Not the cheapest lunch but worth every penny.

We’ve been trying to visit "U Gutka" for the past few months but always seemed to arrive either too early, too late, or on days it was closed for other reasons. However, we finally made it last Saturday—and what a fantastic experience it was! Despite a private birthday party taking place, we were warmly welcomed and offered the full menu. Everything was available except desserts (I assume they were all served to the party next door). The wait time wasn’t long, and when the food arrived, it was freshly cooked, clearly made to order. The portions were generous, offering excellent value for money. There’s a separate salad section where you can help yourself, and it’s unlimited—such a nice touch! While they don’t serve alcohol due to the lack of a license, a good selection of soft drinks was available, which wasn’t an issue for us at all. We’ve dined at many Polish restaurants in places like London, Cambridge, Newmarket, Luton, Hitchin, Aylesbury, Birmingham etc but "U Gutka" stood out—it was the best in both taste and value for money. We’ll definitely be back!

I was there today, and a lady with orange hair, wearing glasses and with tattoos on her hand, served us. She was rude and didn’t even have a name badge on her t-shirt like the other staff, so I couldn’t find out her name. When I was taking mayonnaise, she rudely told me, ‘Why are you taking it from the front? Go get it from the back, next to the drinks.’ When I came inside with my friends, I had KFC food with me that I was taking home for my mom. She spoke to me aggressively, saying, ‘You’re not allowed to eat that inside!’ I told her firmly that I wasn’t planning to eat it inside.

After reading the reviews we have to say that we were very disappointed with our visit. We had the 3-course menu which was adequate but not at all exciting. Whilst each course was well cooked, the sauces and accompaniments lacked subtlety and flavours were not well balanced. Difficult to justify a Michelin star on this performance. Over the years we have used a number of Michelin restaurants but sadly this rates as the worst we have visited. It was highly priced and certainly not worth the money we were charged.

We called into The Leather Bottle for lunch yesterday which was a very cold day. We particularly chose here because of the log burner in the bar which on previous occasions has been lit and roaring away. Unfortunately yesterday the log burner wasn’t lit and no central heating was on making an unwelcome atmosphere! I asked I they could light the fire because we were cold and were told the chimney hadn’t been swept! Will think twice about going back there in the Winter as there are lots of good pubs better prepared and are at least prepared to put the heating on!
