Lovely ancient pub which has retained plenty of character. Many items of interest on the walls. The first room after the entrance is the most charming, where we enjoyed a lunch of faggots, burgers and salads, washed down with the local ale. No recorded music: congratulations! Lunch for three including drinks was a reasonable £62.65.

usually really good service. delivery is always fast and the food is usually great. ordered the usual today (my partner gets a small doner meat and chips with just coleslaw and I get the same with lettuce and mayo) we always have the same thing. tonighty partners came with everything on top, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, everything. he doesn't like everything and it's not what he ordered so he called up to explain the mistake, whoever was on the phone did not sound like who we usually talk to and was very rude and blamed my partner

Recently visited here for breakfast with my family. The restaurant is small in terms of space and I can imagine if everyone had a trolley it would be hectic and cramped. Service was really good, couldn’t fault it at all. Food So, my boys and me both ordered the big breakfast, it was lovely presentation and given your in a supermarket cafe the food itself was lovely. My wife had scrambled eggs on toast which she said was lovely, the scrambled eggs didn’t look watery at all. Downside The only downside I have for the cafe is that the branded drinks are expensive, £1.09 for a can of Coke Zero to me is expensive. Overall we loved it and will definitely be back again

We booked and paid for 2 rooms, arrived at 7.30 pm, the place was shut, locked. We asked around locally and were told " You don't want to stay there " and other horror stories.

Disappointing, overall. The food was very overpriced and not as described - we ordered the carrot and coriander soup, which was definitely actually tomato - and the table was dirty. The very young staff all seemed to be doing work experience, and none of them wanted to be there. It took three attempts to get our table cleaned, and the girl taking our food order was completely disinterested. This was a real shame, and to me it suggests a management problem - you can't just hire teenagers and expect them to do the full workload of wait staff. The ambience was also really weird. It felt like a school canteen. The decor is very unappealing, feeling more like a leisure centre than a cafe. This place is definitely coasting on being the nearest cafe to the carpark, and one of the few cafes to be open after 4pm. I honestly recommend just bringing a flask of tea in your car and a packet of sandwiches.

Popped in here on a Saturday afternoon about 3.30pm, it wasn't very busy and me and my partner were looking for a hot drink and small bite to eat. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who told us to take a seat and that menus were on the table. We chose what we wanted then went to order. After I ordered, the lady serving said they didn't have any of the items we asked for and they only had two paninis left....Makes you wonder why they bothered to say "Menus on the table" instead of "Hello, this is all we have left." Also seemed strange the they ran out of all food items in the middle of a Saturday afternoon? Anyway, we said the two panini they had left were fine (ham, salami, cheese and chilli) and we had a latte and a tea with them. The drinks were fine, no complaints. The paninis were warm on the outside, yet cold in the middle - deffo could have done with another minute or two to heat up. A bit disappointing. The lady who brought our food over put the paninis on the table and said "You dont need cutlery" the walked away... haha, this gave us a chuckle. Two ham, salami, cheese and chilli paninis, a regular latte and a regular tea - £21.50

Called in for Sunday lunch whilst we were in the area and were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly, the place was clean but we had to wait a little while for our food to come to the table. I had the Sunday lunch, and what a plateful it was. They no longer have half a chicken but two chicken breast fillets instead which is much better than all the bones in half a chicken. We had refills of our tea and coffee cups and a free donut with our hot drinks too. Great value for money and will be calling in again.

After having a bad experience once before we thought we would give the cafe another go..... big mistake !! I appreciate times are difficult at the moment but one member of staff taking orders and making the drinks whilst there was at least 10 people behind me waiting in the queue was ridiculous. I was 2nd in the queue and waited 25 mins for 2 coffees and a hot chocolate, the poor young lad was under pressure but was very polite under the circumstances. Unfortunately when I got to my table our drinks were cold , which was very disappointing given the time we waited for them. I will definitely not be returning again unfortunately. Plenty of other places to get better service and a hot drink . I have worked in this line of business for many years and understand how difficult it can be on times, but given all the bad reviews of the cafe it s time to do something about it !!

Very disappointing meal, ordered chips and egg for a quick lunch. Eggs were floating in grease on a plate that was far too hot to touh. Chips were dry and had obviously been kept under the hot light for too long. Had to search for clean cutlery and wipe it with napkin. The place was not very clean and seemed to be short staffed. Never again.
