Called in for Sunday lunch whilst we were in the area and were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly, the place was clean but we had to wait a little while for our food to come to the table. I had the Sunday lunch, and what a plateful it was. They no longer have half a chicken but two chicken breast fillets instead which is much better than all the bones in half a chicken. We had refills of our tea and coffee cups and a free donut with our hot drinks too. Great value for money and will be calling in again.

Today my mother of 96 was visiting welshpool in powys store, she happened to fall quite badly, she was on her own. Im told by my mother that everyone, staff and customers were so kind. I felt i needed to thank the store on my mothers and her familys behalf but they dont have a local contact number so will call in in the week but untill then well done welshpol for the first aid given (Alison) and for such attentive care.

I saw that the lunch menu offered soup and a ciabatta roll. This seemed ideal for me so I went to the cash desk to order. "We have no rolls," I was told. "Will a slice of white bread do?" "But you have rolls on the bakery section." "We are not allowed to have them. Do you want bread?" "Do you have brown bread?" "Yes. Do you want it toasted?" "Yes, please." And so I waited. Eventually along came half a bowl of soup and a slice of white bread. I took the bread back and reiterated my order. I sat down only to realise that three of the staff were looking at me and obviously saying, behind hands over their mouths, what an awkward customer I was. I was so embarrassed. I ate the soup - still with no bread - and walked out shamefaced. I shall never visit again.

Called in for lunch on a wet miserable day. It was very quiet when we ordered but we had to wait nearly forty minutes for our meals to reach the table. The food arrived nice and hot and well cooked. Quality was good but I am sure the portion size was smaller than the last time we went there together with a price increase too. The cafe was clean and the staff friendly. All in all a good experience in a relaxed atmosphere with the timing slightly disappointing particularly if you were limited to time. Will call again when in Welshpool and not in a rush.

I have never been in Morrison's cafe in all the years I've lived in Welshpool. My partner and I ordered two big breakfasts, visually they looked ok, the only things on my breakfast that was edible were the poached egg, grilled tomato and the beans, the hash browns, sausages and fried bread had been cooked in old dirty oil, they tasted acrid. The tinned sliced mushrooms were cold and the bacon had barely seen a grill... I will not be visiting again

Tables need a good wipe and it would be great if staff in Morrison's were actually pleased you were shopping there instead of treating you like you were a hinderence

We have done exactly what it says in the heading too many times at this venue ! We have complained in so many many occasions - it's just a handy stop off point when we have to visit Welshpool. The cafe manager listens - changes nothing ! The multifilarious store managers the same ! 2 marks given are for general cleanliness only - not for food. They cook - put under heat lamps and eventually serve whatever the outcome looks like. Nobody there cares about the standard reaching the table so long as the specified items are present ! They can be dried up - over cooked - undercooked - too rock hard to eat ! Suggest Chip shop cafe a little further round on the same street as a much better genuinely great food great service alternative !

It was busy. We were told to expect a 20 minutes wait for food but it was less than this. Fish and chips portions were huge and fresh. However, my baked potato and beans was dry. The side salad looked as if it had been on the plate for hours if not overnight. The cafe looks welcoming and bright, I like all of the tea pots on display.

Went for birthday breakfast ordered vegetarian breakfast and some crumpets. Breakfast was under heaters for about 7 or 8 mins while they cooked the sausage so by time it came the butter had turned to oil cause the butter was put under heaters so husband complained and then guy comes along plonks 5 butters down and informs us they've just come out of fridge so that hard couldn't spread on cold toast so had to melt thwm on tea pot. And the veggie breakfast was ment to have 2 eggs came with 1 so asked for the other and it came with yolk running all over the plate.

We offen pop in for a meal or snack. Service is usually quick and efficient but on our last visit but dissapointed with the service. Food was good but the service substandard. It was very quiet and the manager asked a member of staff to serve me at the till, I asked her a question about a dish which she answered but then she walked away and failed to return!! I then had to shout into the kitchen to get someones attention.

Called in 9.15 am 12/11/2018. Couldn't find the menu, when I did it was totally different to the Morrison's Wales online menu. Chose a breakfast and went to the till. Woman on till said 'hello' and walked off. Eventually she came back and we ordered two breakfasts, one with no egg. Short wait for meal as it was obviously drying out under some lamps somewhere. Breakfasts turn up, the one with no egg had no sausage, either, but waitress didn't notice. Fetched a ready cooked sausage from it's funeral pyre. Everything overcooked and dried out. Large bloomer toast had only enough butter for half of it. Staff need training urgently - they are not there to chat to each other and ignore the paying customers. Not the first time I have been disappointed here, but definitely the last.

It’s become a bit of a ritual to stop here as the halfway point between home in S.Wales and visiting family in Manchester. The cafe’s breakfasts are good and the Double Eggs Benedict and pot of tea for £5.10 is a revelation about what a fast food breakfast can be. Yes, it’s a supermarket cafe but surprisingly ambitious in some dishes and great value.

We called in to this small supermarket cafe on our way through Welshpool. It was just what we needed - good value tea/coffee, free parking and a seat in the dry (it was a miserable wet day!). Can recommend, if you are in the area.

I was delighted by the friendly service and quality of food when I called in here. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and everything was accompanied by a big smile. Now that is how a cafe should be run. Came away happy.

Travelling from Cardiff to Chester on a Sunday, we really just wanted a bar meal but most pubs just do complete meals. We were passing through Welshpool and decided we'd give Morrisons a go for a light lunch. Good move! Very clean and friendly, helpful waiting staff. The jacket potato with tuna with a fresh, diced salad looked good and tasted great. Cheese omelette with beans and chips was also delicious as was the cheeseburger with chips. My green salad with avocado and warm chicken breast was also very tasty. The 4 meals with drinks cost about £25.00! Have to try my local Morrisons now!

Since the refurbishment this restaurant is great. Very good value for money and very clean. There is a good choice of food and is the best place to eat in Welshpool now whether you want a good breakfast or lunch. One criticism is that you need to pay in cash. Not really a problem as you can get cab back from the supermarket tills or from the cash machines on site just more of an inconvenience when you get to pay.

eaten at a few morrisons, Bridport mainly. always busy. service ok so having moved into a local town to welshpool, lunch beckoned, 12 noon sunday 6th aug. grabbed a tray, no menu on the wall, found a menu, stood at the counterlooking hungry, then he girl on the till disappeared, ..nobody.. then a girl appeared and loaded a plate and disappeared, so I stood there, and I stood there.... and I stood there. probably a good ten minutes.. another girl appeared and arranged some apples. then went.... as did I after being ignored for yen minutes. The banners outside proclaim "we're improving our store" I know where you could start.. staff desparately need training.. or firing.. pref the latter..

Caledl in one day with my husband for lunch whilst on business in Welshpool. The staff were very friendly and the place was clean. Although the restaurant was quiet it still took some time for our meals to arrive. The fish and scampi were ok but the chips and beans lacked taste and were somewhat cold, By the time the food had arrived our drinks were cold too. The best thing about it was it was reasonably price but won't have minded paying more for a better meal.

The tables in the restaurant weren't all taken, there are about 12 or 13 tables in all, 5 tables were taken with people eating cold food sandwiches etc, the other 4 tables taken were obviously waiting for hot food some of the tables had only 2 people on them, how on earth could there be an hour wait on hot food, the menu is not vast and reasonably easy good to cook, fish and chips , sausage and chips, kids Spag Bol, that would be re heated, it wouldn't be made from scratch, basically all meals have been put on the menu for easy quick cooking, felt very sorry for the lovely young lady on the till, and the other woman walking back and forth telling everyone when she heard orders for hot food... That'll be an hour, more time spent cooking and helping might of got the dishes out in 15, a lot of people in there felt the same, absolutely ridiculous, some one needs to sort it out, as another person said, defiantly not a people person.

Popped in on our way home from our hols in north Wales. Went for the meat free breakfast.....that was a mistake......it was just horrible, looked awful and tasted worse. Apparently there was a quorn sausage on the plate; well it didn't taste like one i'd ever cooked. It was clearly over done in the first place and the re-heated. The mushrooms were barely cooked and the egg was just thrown on top of everything else, And the staff could do with some 'smile' training as well. Never again!

I had soup, it was leak and potato, didn't taste like either, the bowl of soup was half empty, only 1 piece of bread with it. In my opinion very poor won't be going back.

Recently visited here for breakfast with my family. The restaurant is small in terms of space and I can imagine if everyone had a trolley it would be hectic and cramped. Service was really good, couldn’t fault it at all. Food So, my boys and me both ordered the big breakfast, it was lovely presentation and given your in a supermarket cafe the food itself was lovely. My wife had scrambled eggs on toast which she said was lovely, the scrambled eggs didn’t look watery at all. Downside The only downside I have for the cafe is that the branded drinks are expensive, £1.09 for a can of Coke Zero to me is expensive. Overall we loved it and will definitely be back again

usually really good service. delivery is always fast and the food is usually great. ordered the usual today (my partner gets a small doner meat and chips with just coleslaw and I get the same with lettuce and mayo) we always have the same thing. tonighty partners came with everything on top, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, everything. he doesn't like everything and it's not what he ordered so he called up to explain the mistake, whoever was on the phone did not sound like who we usually talk to and was very rude and blamed my partner

Lovely ancient pub which has retained plenty of character. Many items of interest on the walls. The first room after the entrance is the most charming, where we enjoyed a lunch of faggots, burgers and salads, washed down with the local ale. No recorded music: congratulations! Lunch for three including drinks was a reasonable £62.65.

What a dark and dingy place this is! It's pitch dark in there! As I went in for a drink a man came out and asked me if I had a torch! On buying a pint I understood what he was on about, you don't need a torch you need a SEARCHLIGHT! IN MY 73 YEARS IVE NEVER BEEN IN SUCH A DARK PLACE! Like most people my age I have fading eyesight, doesn't the Owner realise this or doesn't he/she care? On going to the toilet I banged my head on a low beam, good job I have a good head of hair or i'd have had a nasty bump on my head! I am considering contacting Powys Health and Safety re - the matter. A man with a sore head!
