Situated on Central Promenade, Newcastle, Co.Down the covered outdoor seating gives a truly Mediterrean atmosphere as you admire the views of the harbour and Slieve Donard, the highest peak in Northern Ireland, as it sweeps down to the sea. Choose one of the fabulous Base Coffee drinks or select from the range of herbal teas. For morning snacks try the sausage rolls, croisants or scone with fresh jam. Then later in the day you must try the home baked apple pie of one of the delicious (but huge) tray bakes. Base Coffee is not just a coffee shop, it's a hub for many regulars and undoubtedly you will very quickly feel welcome.

Lovely relaxing location with views over Belfast Lough, very close to Belfast but a world away. Conor & Bernie were excellent hosts. The tasting menu with matching wines was fantastic, particularly the carrot soup with coconut and sweet chilli prawns, the scallops with crispy leeks and the fillet steak was amazing. Nice touch to have complimentary port in the bedroom. Breakfast was also delicious.

Lovely spot in the centre of the town. Very cute setting. Scones and treats are very tasty. We got the blueberry cake and it was very nice. A lot of heavy cream on the hot chocolate - would have preferred it done with a foamy layer on top. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Lovely ambience in the cafe.

Went to Love Coffee on a Thursday evening for a movie night with my daughter. Suck a lovely little quirky cafe. Lots of sweet treats to choose from as well as excellent coffee and hot chocolate. Would definitely recommend and we’ll definitely be back.

Freshly made tasty food. Locally owned and run. Give this wee place your business instead of the chain cafes.

What an amazing place! Just like walking into a Victorian sitting room. Very warm welcome. Had a home made pizza (which had tasty home cooked ham in abundance) fries, homemade cake and a bottomless pot of tea. We stayed for ages chatting to the owners and fellow diners. Everyone so friendly and welcoming. We were so sorry we were passing through on a tour of Ireland and couldn't return.
