Had a lovely afternoon tea in the Byre, food was all homemade and beautifully presented. Mary was very attentive and friendly. I'd mentioned on the phone we'd 2 birthday girls and Mary had a banner up for them. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be back.

My two friends and I really enjoyed our afternoon tea in the Byre. Mary was a fantastic host and looked after us very well. The setting was lovely and very private. Beautiful selection of dainty canapés, scones, sandwiches and sweet treats. Mary also prepared a similar gluten free selection. It was a very special afternoon tea. Thank you Mary.

I visited The Byre with my mother last weekend. When we arrived Mary met us with a warm welcoming smile and showed us to the garden room which was absolutely beautiful. Here we received a range of delicious sandwiches, buns and sweet treats which were all homemade. I can honestly say this has been the best afternoon tea I ever had. I would highly recommend the byre to all ages, not just to have a lovely afternoon but tea but to have the pleasure of meeting Mary, the perfect hostess

I visited the Byre today with two of my daughters and one of their boyfriends. We picked the venue as my middle daughter is getting married soon and we heard about all the lovely items for hire, to dress her venue. Mary was so warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Tea was regularly freshened and plates of delectable fancies kept coming. I really enjoyed the sandwich choices which were different to the usual afternoon tea offering. Another party of ladies arrived halfway through our tea and Mary managed both lots without either of us feeling neglected in the slightest. The quality of the food was top notch and it was all so prettily served in her quirky drawing room. We'll definitely be back again x

A wonderfully private and secluded place with antique tea service, incredibly delicious food, beautifully presented, as much tea as you can drink served in silver antique teapots. The afternoon tea came in several courses, starting with sandwiches, fresh cream and strawberry scones, followed by a wonderful variety of deserts and sweets. Mary is a darling, couldn't do enough for us and we all got a hug at the end of the visit. A variety of different sized rooms available to cater for small and medium sized groups.

We had the most delightful afternoon tea in the little cabin at The Byre. Beautifully presented china crockery and silver tea service all laid out in preparation for our visit. Sandwiches and scones, followed by petit fours, meringues, Eton mess and panna cotta. Even a wee fruit salad for our little one. Superb food and as much tea as anyone could ever hope for. Mary was the perfect hostess and so attentive to our needs. I had a lovely birthday treat with my daughter, granddaughter and special friends. Thank you all so much.

Have been here a couple of times, the owner is very pleasant and nothing seem too much trouble for her. The food is good and plentiful and priced well compared to other afternoon teas. The building is a bit " shabby chic" but has lots of character, there was a lovely shop but the last time we were there it was closed so not sure if its still in operation.

Mary served us a delicious afternoon tea one sunny afternoon in the garden room and we couldn’t ask for anything more. Tantalizing chocolate moose cups, a various arrangement of fine finger sandwiches, fresh homemade scones with cream, jam and strawberries, panna cotta, chocolate truffles and much more. We left totally satisfied and our taste buds happy. The attention to detail throughout the byre is fantastic with a great homely and warm feeling. Mary was professional and catered for our vegetarian and gluten free needs. The Byre is located 5 minutes drive from Maghera. We really appreciated the free WiFi and spotlessly clean toilet facilities. Highly recommend and reservations needed.

We’ve enjoyed afternoon tea in Belfast and Ballymena. This time we thought we’d head to the farmhouse at The Byre. Country chic is evident throughout the well-presented premises and this is extended through to the afternoon tea. Mary catered for our party’s request for no butter or mayo as well as decaffeinated tea, this was absolutely no problem. It’s the little things that help this afternoon tea stand out, for example, the antique silver wear, the tea sets and the overall warm and welcoming, relaxed feeling. The home cooked scones were a real winner as well as the little chocolates. Our only criticism would be that you have to really book in advance due to popularity.

Not happy got a takeout for the kids the chips were cooked in dirty oil. The colour and taste was completely unacceptable for £6. I wish i had checked inside the containers before I left the building.
