Did not give me a glass with jug. Disappointment is immeasurable.

You need to be a VIP to be given a pint glass in this place i was told at the bar? Most ridiculous thing ive ever heard lol. Shows ALOT about the owner lol Edit: This was a Saturday night 10 months ago in the upstairs area. I went to the bar to order drinks and was handed small tumbler glasses even for doubles which took me no time at all to finish. I asked if I could just have a double in a bigger glass and i was told that i couldnt and that these were for VIP members only

Went on Tuesday. They had Bar food half price. We both had Sirloin steak with tobacco onions and skinny fries. Sauce was Bourguignon. It was lovely. So tasty. Highly recommend it. Definetely worth a visit.

Smoking is good size but during the early week. Empty and badly coordinated. Nice sized bar. Plenty of options. Staff are unresponsive .

Best place in Magherafelt for a night out. Service is always quick and pleasant. Food is as good as any restaurant in the town. Good atmosphere all weekend from the entertainment and the crowd.

Me and 2 friends went into Ljs to try out the boozy brunch. It was a wonderful experience, we never had to wait long for a drink, our host Jp was at our table checking on us every 5minutes. This is the best place to visit in magherafelt ! We loved the atmosphere and the other patrons were such a hoot! Karaoke on Thursday nights and the winner gets their tab paid for ! Safe to say that these Yankees had such a great time partying with the bartender and everyone else in my new favorite tavern! Can not say enough great things about this place, they made us feel so welcome, I just about moved in.

We were staying at a nearby Airbnb and found this place for dinner. The host was so helpful directing us to nearby places. Very warm atmosphere. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Had lunch with friends. The staff were friendly and we had table service which was lovely. The food was lovely, and we ended up staying far longer than we'd planned. There's a lovely beer garden out the back. The ladies loos were really clean. We'll definitely go back again.

Great place for watching Sports. Great pints of Guinness as well

Just popped in as I was walking past today. Took the notion for a bite to eat and wanted something more than lunch. Totally unplanned and spur of the moment. It wasn't on the menu, but the waitress/bar attendant was really thoughtful, and went and consulted the chef. Came back and told me it wouldn't be a problem. Very attentive throughout the meal to make sure everything was to my pleasing. Service and quality of food here is not a issue to these members of staff who were working today. Lovely peaceful surroundings, couple of friendly locals sitting at the bar. Just what you want when you pop in for a bite to eat on your tod. There is an outside seating area also. I preferred to sit in the cool, appropriately lit bar and enjoy a bit of shade. Definitely will be giving it a try with numbers with me next time and on a Friday/Saturday night. Seems to cater for the one stop shop, great food, then some nice drinks, followed by a good line up of different entertainment.

Super kind and helpful staff! I got the burger with bacon, my lady got the steak with the ‘garlic squares’ - all of it was really good, especially the gravy for the fries but the garlic squares took the prize🤤

I had heard good things about LJS but today i was very disappointed in the service. 25 minutes to take our order and i had a 9 month year old child and he 2 yoghurts and snacks as we where not able to wait any longer. Dont think we will be back.

Celebrated a communion by using LJs service of hot food package for 25 people. Food really was class and made a class day fantastic. Quality was unreal and everyone loved it. Thankyou so much. Highly recommend

L.J’s Tavern provided outside catering for a family event, buffet style hot food delivered to our door to cater for 30 people. The food was absolutely delicious and stayed hot for up to an hour in hotboxes. We were delighted with the service, price and most importantly the quality of food. I would highly recommend L.J’s Tavern for any party or special event. 5star rating.

LJ’s catered for our private party. I cannot recommend LJ’s highly enough. From communication, right through to delivery. The food was well presented and everyone at the party had plenty to eat and commented on how nice the food was. They really helped take the stress out of our party which ran very smooth. Thanks for everything.

The food was excellent but the menu was limited for a Fri lunchtime and some of the sides on the said menu made no sense. Service was excellent too but the menu selection let the overall experience down a little, sorry 😞

As a family of five we thoroughly enjoyed our mid week treat. Served by the friendly proprietor JP. Menu had ample choices and the food was very tasty. Tuesday’s special promotion offers 50% discount off food bill. Very reasonable and highly recommended.

Eat here regularly on a Tuesday. All food is half price on a Tuesday. But there are offers on other days too. Have tried quite a few dishes and honestly not disappointed with any of them The Chicken Chilli Willi is absolutely delicious and my boys love the burgers Service is quick and there when you want it but not in your face... Definitely recommend

Great wee bar , tastefully decorated. Didn’t eat as arrived later on a Sunday evening. The entertainment was amazing, female vocalist Lorna was out of this world!!! Will be just to see her , Irish Adele

Amazing food, best sirloin steak I had in awhile, chicken burger amazing, starters wer lovely and the hospitality was great. Shout out to the chef and her cooking and the manager for making us feel so welcome. Great place, definitely be back. Would highly recommend.

Not the greatest for food, really disappointed. I ordered gluten free garlic battered mushrooms for a starter and received very oily fried mushrooms in garlic graduals with no batter, tasted awful. I then had a gluten free burger for mains, this was ok, not spectacular but was ok for a bite to eat. My partner who is not gluten free ordered battered garlic mushrooms for start also. He explained to the waitress that his order did not need to be gluten free. His garlic mushrooms came out the same as mine with no batter just fried in oil and garlic granules. His main was the duck, unfortunately this was awful. There was no sauce and was too dry to get down and he couldn’t finish this.

We held our child's christening here last Saturday and I cannot speak higher of this place! The service, staff, owners and overall premises were AMAZING! They couldn't do enough for us. All our family and friends were so so happy with the day. We will definitely be availing of their service in the future. They took care of everything and the food was fantastic! 10/10!

We ran into some issues finding a place to eat in the area on a Saturday night when we arrived and they immediately found us a table and treated us wonderfully!! Thank you for making our kids feel special with the extra ice cream!

Had a great night watching the Champions Lge Final even though LFC didn't win. Great gesture of the half time food, pizza, fries and chicken curry, and £3 a pint during game. When visiting Magherafelt again will definitely call in. YNWA

Good food, large booze selection, good local live music, a friendly staff, an plenty of TVs to watch sports. What more could you want! Oh, how about the best onion rings I’ve ever had!

My husband and 2 daughters went with me to LJs tonight. We had sharing platters for starters, that were absolutely fabulous and 3 steaks & Chicken Ballantine for our main courses. The food was out of this world and we had a few cocktails too. The staff were lovely and we’ll definitely all be back. I can’t recommend LJs enough

Stopped here for lunch on our way home from a weekend away and I can honestly say that it deserves more than 5 stars (the kids said they would give them infinity stars). The food was delicious and the staff were both friendly and efficient. Me and my partner have agreed that we'll have to make a return trip so we can try the cocktails! Highly recommend 👌

Just had a great meal as recommended by a friend. My husband and I could not fault this place at all. The food was top nosh and the service excellent. I would definitely recommend you give this place a go. We travelled from Belfast for a day out and we will be calling again.

Recently taken over, I must say this establishment offers a variety. Not only good food and decently priced drinks, but the entertainment they provide is sufficient and pleasing to the ear. The bar staff are mature and efficient and last but not least the cleanliness of the bar and facilities leave you in no doubt that you will return, and maybe bring your friends to enjoy a good nights craic .

If i could leave half a star i would! My boyfriend and i went sunday past there for dinner i ordered starter and main, my boyfriend ordered three courses His started arrived, mine did not! Not once during the duration of him eating his did they stop to ask if everything was okay. The table across from us had the same issue of some meals arriving and some meals not. Only time i will be going back is for a drink not for food again Concerning my previous complaints, i have been in contact with the owner personally and he has sincerely appologised on behalf of his staff and promised that the next time i go in will be a great experience. Fantastic customer service!!
