Slim’s Healthy Kitchen in Magherafelt

Arrived in Magherafelt on business and my hotel wasn't serving food so went for a walk and found this place. Although it was just about to close for the night, the very friendly girl at the counter said I could choose from a limited menu so I managed to order a lovely chicken katsu which arrived in less than 5 minutes and was very tasty. My friend and I ordered the Jerk chicken wrap with a side of chips. The wrap was truly awful and tasteless. There was a lack of seasoning or flavour, meanwhile the vegetables were soggy. We could not finish the wrap, which is a real waste considering it was 8 pounds!!! I expect edible food quality food when I spend this much money on a small wrap. Very disappointing. On a positive, the staff were friendly and the delivery was on time.

We dropped in for a brief coffee break so we haven't tried the meals yet. The coffee was very good and, importantly, hot. The chocolate brownie was moist and tasty, with chips of good quality chocolate. The service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was good.The menu was interesting, with clear nutritional information about each dish (carbs, Kcals, fat, etc.). We will be back to investigate and I wouldn't be surprised if our rating rises afterwards.

I visited the restaurant on Sunday 13th September and ordered Bang bang chicken salad and stir fry greens. Whilst it tasted lovely, within ten minutes of leaving the restaurant I experienced severe stomach cramps to the point of being in tears. Over the next two days I was off work with nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. I contacted Slims to let them know and was passed from person to person, indicating to me nobody wanted to deal with my issue. I was finally told there was nothing they could do about it. Slim’s have lost a loyal customer. I will not be back.

Stopped off on a cycle ride today for a welcome lunch. Great burgers and loved the choices you can make with sides and sauces. Prompt and friendly service. We were made to feel very welcome.

We visited Slims for a girlie lunch catch up and it was lovely. The food was really good and reasonable price. The slims bowls are great. Love the sweet potato fries. Service was very efficient. I will definitely be visiting again.

Still as always staff is so friendly. Food is mouth-watering and tastes so delicious. Would definitely recommend this place. It’s so cheap as well

When we arrived, the server with Blonde hair told his where to go and sit, and didn't show us to our table like youd expect in a restaurant. We had to squeeze in between other groups beside each other as it was quite busy when we entered. As soon as they took our orders, a few tables became available behind us and it would have been nice to be offered them rather than sitting squeezed between people on a high table and high chairs. After that though, the brunette server was very nice and provided service with a smile. The food was nice, and we would order from the all day menu again.

A healthy dinner with fresh ingredients is what we wanted and got. We had off the 500 calorie menu, I had prawn dish served with rice, my daughter had chicken curry and rice both had great flavour, beautiful vegetables and were good sized portions. To make it even better only £5 per meal as before 5. What’s not to like. Amazing.

First time here and it was great. Seated quickly and good choice of food on the menu. A great range of healthy foods that tasted delicious. Would highly recommend and would go back if in the area.

We went as a family and with friends on three separate occasions. Each time I had the steak and halloumi wrap (£10.95), which was cooked exactly to my liking and was very tasty. I had this with sweet potato fries (£3.50) as a side at each visit. On my third visit I had the Peanut Butter Bananza Shake (£5.50) and it was delicious, although found that as a whole my meal was very filling when the milkshake was included so a side between two would have been suffice. We didnt need to book, service was good and highchairs are readily available.

Visited this busy restaurant for lunch. Variety of seating with large comfortable cushions. Great menu with a lot of choice. Staff young and efficient. Food arrived promptly, hot and well presented. Beautiful flavours and excellent portions. Beautiful. Can’t wait for next visit, want to try entire menu.

Up from the South for a rugby match - spotted Slim’s - lovely quick lunch. Friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely recommend and will call again when in the area...

Clean modern eaterie with well spaced tables and welcoming staff. Food is freshly prepared and well presented. A number of healthy options are available. Good coffee too.
