Was at The Terrace for a dinner for about 40 people- all had preordered meals and sitting for the given time - we were in a separate room at the back - the room was baltic - had to keep our coats on - the rest of the hotel was warm - the staff were very pleasant and helpful but had to wait half an hour before we got out starter then about an hour for the main course and another hour for the desert- the food was tasty but only luke warm the main course had been sitting for a while before it was brought out.

Stood for ages to get served.. My order was 2 cokes in a pint glass with ice... He couldn't understand. Told me he had no pint glasses and can give me 2 highball glasses.. After trying to get it into his head the big glasses were a pint glass I eventually got my 2 coke with ice...... Long time since I was there, long time till am back

Food excellent, staff super friendly and efficient

We ate there two evenings and had really good meals. I had their sea bass and the Sunday roast. Both excellent. The staff were friendly and hospitable. Nice atmosphere and comfortable.

Nice clean hotel, friendly staff, a great breakfast and the price was very resonable, so we were very happy and none of my family had any complaints.

Unfriendly staff, poor management, confused bar staff, slow to serve food and drink. Need I go on? They cant even get the basics right. And then my partner got charged for someone elses bar bill. He is still trying to get this refunded and they asked him to get the strangers who we were chatting to over a drink to call them and pay their bill, and then the hotel will refund us. Jokes! Anyway as we don't know these people we were chatting to we cannot call them.The hotel management are now ignoring our emails. Very unprofessional of them. We now have to ask the Irish tourist board for assistance with getting a refund. We won't give up!

I love the interior and its well planned how the seating is done. The prices for lunch or diner are very reasonable and the portions are ok. Enough parking outside at the front or the back

We stayed here for 2 nights when visiting family. Rooms didn’t have any fans or A/c and the bed was too firm for our tastes. Breakfast was great, hotel bar was great and all staff we dealt with were friendly. Overall it was a positive experience!!

I love the interior and the staff are always very nice and helpful. When you need to meet for a meeting or a friend The Terrace Hotel offers privacy in a nice setting and good service. Food is nice and not very expensive. Coffees are good

We stayed for two nights to attend a family get together. The Terrace provided good town centre accommodation, the rooms were relatively basic (no room safe or fridge) but for the price (which includes a full breakfast) we had no complaints. We were pleasantly surprised to find car parking at the rear. For breakfast there is a buffet with cereals and juices and then a choice of hot food – the usuals such as a full breakfast and omelettes with plenty of toast and hot drinks. It would have been good if we could have had some extras – such as black pudding – which we would have been willing to pay additionally for. We ate in on one evening. Between us we had a selection of dishes – oven baked cod, chicken supreme and lamb rump. For the prices, we felt that the dishes just lacked a bit of finesse and the chicken was probably a little more cooked than our preference, more a matter of taste than anything else. A big plus point was a willingness to keep the bar open for us, until 04.00 one morning and 03.00 the next morning! Staff were universally friendly and helpful and really helped make our stay.

This year our family which was a party of 19 adults went to the Terrace Hotel in Magherafelt to celebrate Christmas. My sister organised and pre booked the meals for 7pm for Thursday 28th December, as the group was large, this is a normal procedure to help the hotel or restaurant staff prepare. A few of the party cancelled that day for reasons beyond their control, but this wasn’t an issue for the hotel. On the night 3 members of our group were late by more than 40 minutes, but again this wasn’t an issue for the staff, they were very understanding and very accommodating. When all of our group arrived the starters were on the table soon after and the entire group agreed they were all delicious. Soon after the starters were finished the the tables were cleared and very quickly the mains arrived . Again they were all fantastic with everybody in the group being really pleased and complimentary with both with the service and the quality of the food. I would concluded by congratulating the management and staff of the Terrance Hotel, they did a brilliant job for our annual family night out. Atmosphere, staff, comfort and quality of food was all five star and I would highly recommend and we will be back soon. Thank you for a great night.

Attentive, friendly staff. Tasty lunch. I had turkey dinner and my friend had a burger, we both thoroughly enjoyed our food.

I was greeted in a very friendly way and someone got me something to eat even though officially they had stopped serving. I got a very tasty burger, coeliac needs looked after very well. A good place to go for handy, regular food, clean reasonable price and very good service.

Enjoyed staying here the rooms are nice and modern. Very clean and airy. Staff are friendly and got a warm welcome. Would definitely stay again if up around this area

Zmieniłam opinię ma temat hotelu po sobotniej nocy. Chciałam się wyspać przed niedzielnym lotem i niestety nie było mi to dane. Na dole urzadzono imprezę i głośna muzyka nie dała mi zasnąć. Szkoda, bo ogólnie hotel fajny, zadbany i jedzenie ok, ale spokój po powrocie do hotelu jest bardzo ważny.

have eaten here a few times, and are never disappointed. Great selection on the menu, no matter what time of day. Food always beautiful. staff friendly and efficient. lovely place to sit for a few drinks as well as a meal. cant fault the place.

Yo entramos en la terraza un domingo en invierno para tomar una copa con mi pareja. Nos paramos en el bar antes de que alguien nos sirve. Decidimos tomar nuestras bebidas en el bar y en este tiempo un gerente y camarera discutieron otros clientes abiertamente delante de nosotros y también se quejaron de cómo resaca la camarera era. Lo que me pareció muy desagradable. Me sentí como que no podía esperar para salir, ya que estábamos en el camino. No me voy a prisa de volver.

Visitamos La terraza para comer el domingo y chico no nos decepcionó la comida era precioso. Mi marido tenía la cena con asado el asado en sí se aparte fue preparado muy bien. Yo opté por la hamburguesa de nuevo cocinado a la perfección. Sin duda volveré. El personal era muy acogedor y atento.

I was here in business. The rooms were spacious; the staff were friendly and the food was appropriately portioned and priced and more importantly was delicious!

Stayed here one night on several occasions during the last 3 years. Ground floor is excellent , modern yet cozy feel to restaurant and reception area . Dine here or the place across the street . Being there solo I always eat in . It's really good , I was surprised . Rooms are somewhat in contrast to ground floor feel. They are clean but somewhat outdated furniture wise . Beds are comfy .

Hotel ok if you don't eat food was inedible completely bland and minute portions one small sugar size bowl of veg for 3 people. manager and staff not helpful will not return emails or calls save yourself stress and don't go to the terrace.

Dined here a week ago had burger with blue cheese dressing it was excellent posh burger for small price friendly staff will definitely dine here again

We stayed at The Terrace Hotel and ate at their bar/restaurant one night. And the food was a lot better than I thought it would be. Two of us opted for the supreme of chicken, which was served with champ and a white wine sauce. It was excellent too. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the champ was deliciously buttery. Prices were reasonable.Service was friendly and efficient, as it was throughout the hotel, but the bar was rather quiet during our stay - other than on the Saturday night.A note for those staying at the hotel. It can be noisy owing to functions on Saturday nights and if you're unlucky in your choice of bedroom, you may not get much sleep until the early hours.

Ideal place to eat when staying at nearby Laurel Villa. The hotel itself is also good value. Traditional menu and friendly staff.

Quick business meeting in the Terrace Hotel , that led to lunch. Modern clean hotel, with large bar area for lunch. Menu as per normal luch eatieries and the quality of food is ok, though could be a little warmer. Service was a little bit slow as the staff seemed to be multi tasking through the hotel, and our lady server could of done with a smile injection. All in all , not bad and reasonable value for money.

Eaten here a few times, food has always been good, great for communions and family events, they put on a great private room on a few occasions for myself....staff were fantastic,great for a quiet night out

Better than 'average' but doesn't deserve a 'very good' review.Only 2 girls working when we arrived in for lunch & they seemed to be working the floor, bar & reception area. This meant that we had to wait a while to be served & lots of dirty table surrounding us etc.I was pleasantly surprised by the food, although it took a while to be served (hour & half for 1 course) the food was well presented & tasty. Pepper sauce however is a no go! Avoid at all costs, tasted burnt & ruined an otherwise very tasty meal.The 2 girls serving the table were very pleasant & helpful with menu choices, management should however employ a couple more staff so the waitresses aren't so pressured having to run between bar, floor & reception.

The hotel bar is where you get your meal. It's set like bar that serves food would be. So there was nothing special about it not the menu. However, the food was good and credit to the employees for the service was absolutely brilliant.

We went for a Christmas night out at the Terrace and were so, so disappointed. The service was diabolically slow, even though they weren't terribly busy. Trying to order a drink took forever and after sitting at the table for over an hour, we still hadn't got our main courses. The goats cheese tart came without any potatoes, just a small handful of salad and when the desserts came, at least 2 were inedible. We'd been told on the phone the cheeseboard was as well as dessert, not 1 of the dessert choices, but this was not the case in the end and then getting a cup of coffee was like pulling teeth, as we were told 'the kitchen was closed'?! We headed upstairs for the 'Christmas party' night then. Some of our group were at the bar at 10 to 1 to order a drink and were told the bar was closed. When asked what time they'd closed they said 1. When it was pointed out that it was only 10 to, we were rudely told that ok then, they closed at quarter to...we were then told we needed to leave our table as they had to set up for breakfast. We weren't a huge group, nor were we rowdy or loud. We had looked forward to our night out and whilst we all still had a good time, that was despite the location,not because of it. I will never be back at the Terrace. Such a shame.

Stayed 2 nights. For second day no replenishment of tea, coffee, milk & biscuits. In my opinion down to pure lazy cleaners!!!!!!!

Went to the Terrace for lunch with some friends recently. I had the turkey & ham which was tasty. The standard of food in the terrace is good but I feel the restaurant is a better lunch option opposed to dining out on a saturday evening. Eamon the manager is a credit to the restaurant, who works tirelessly and always puts a smile on your face.

Looking for a good meal whilst passing through Magherafelt and came across the Terrace. Very friendly staff. The food was really good with a very good menu. The service was a bit slow bearing in mind it was Saturday afternoon and not many in but was worth waiting for. Would recommend it if you are in the area.

Went here as we had heard it was decent. Boy were we wrong. Arrived mid week early evening and were told that the restaurant wasnt operating and only a bar snacks menu was available. There were no other customers in. At tea time this is a bad sign. The options were not exciting at all and the staff looked like they were somewhere else. Maybe they were just wishing they were somewhere else. I had a steak pie which was rough and tough and my wife had a curry which we are not sure was that fresh. We spent the meal staring out at the restaurant across the street wishing we had went there instead as when i tweeted out to my friends they exclaimed at the thought of dining at the terrace when across the street was streets ahead. Ya win some ya lose some !! It was a stark reminder that one bad meal stops repeat custom. We have never been back.

As I say; a great menu. Great variation and also not your standard fayre. There are two and three course specials on offer and overall, well worth a visit.

The Terrace was a very good hotel to stay at. The staff is very helpful and the service is quite good. The Continental breakfast was very good and had lot of variety. The Full Irish breakfast is so heavy and delicious. The wifi is not that good and is frequently disconnected. But on positive side Magherafelt has the town's free wifi which is good and always available.

This is a popular eaterie for locals, ladies who lunch, special family celebrations, or travellers, workers and professionals. The food is freshly prepared, mostly of local produce and of good quality.

Good food, very well presented and it tasted amazing! I was plesantly suprised and we even ate there twice partly due to the bad weather (heavy snow) and didn't think it would be worth venturing out as the food delicious.

We arrived & were seated by a friendly waitress in the basement restaurant which was decorated for xmas.Our food arrived piping hot which was delicious & the manager Gary was very attentive ensuring we were happy with our meal. The live music followed by a disco finished off a great xmas party.

Had a business lunch here which was strictly average but with a little effort could have been excellent. There was only one bar staff/waitress on duty (Friday lunchtime?). we had to clear our own table, waited 15 minutes to get the menu, despite this our food was served promptly and was delicious!!!! The Ceasar Salad was generous and tasty, the Thai Curry was amazing! Spicy, soft, succulent -truly great. Staff need to check that cutlery, glass and cups are clean, lipstick on the crockery is a definite no no!management need to address a few issues here but the food is great, well worth a try.

Went there late august and had the Thai green curry which was lovely and massive!!!! Would definitely go back with the family as they all enjoyed it too

This is August, Tourist season... close at nine o´clock? Ridiculous! We ended up with sandwiches from the local Spar!

Everytime We visit Magherafelt we always seem to end up in this pub :) its great with a fab beer garden

My husband and I recently had a meal in the Terrace Hotel the menu has recently changed it is as good / better than the old one. The menu has a good selection to suit everyone . I choose soup and the duck , my husband choose c/salad and a steak . Both meals were excellent very tasty . The staff were very attentive and helpful . All in all a really good value meal out in pleasant surroundings . We will be back !!

Good food for pub grub, good selection on the menu. Only thing that let them down was staff "gossiping" behind the bar when I was waiting to have my order taken, and slow service.

When we first arrived there was no one on reception, and there was no one to tell us where to go. Also when we rang the bell, no one came. We eventually decided to try through a door marked PRIVATE and we found where the party was. This was not a very good start. Hotel itself looks reasonable, but staff are lazy and don't want any bother. We have only been to Buffets in this Hotel, but the food was of poor quality, and not properly cooked. Sandwiches were disgusting with a real mix match of substances in them. They are all mixed up on the trays. There are no two sandwiches the same together. The lighting is also so poor you can't see what you are lifting. I would not go back here!!

Myself and others from my company use this hotel as a base when working in n.i the staff have always gone out of their way to help us when our schedule changes. food is good ,beer is good rooms are comfortable.what more do you want.I've also stayed here over a weekend and enjoyed nights in the bar when they have music on

I really don't understand the negative review for this hotel. Visited this restaurant just last weekend. The meal was super and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Really nice modern surroundings and a very reasonable price. What more could anyone want. We stayed for the weekend and I must say the breakfast was also one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. It was freshly made, really hot and tasty. Highly recommended

4 of us went to this restaurant two Saturdays ago, we had 2 steak dishes, a vegetarian dish and a house curry dish. All 4 meals were of a 4star level of quality, well cooked and nicely presented by the staff.

This should not even be classed as a restaurant, it does McDonalds a disservice. My wife and myself went on a Sunday evening to find that there were only 5 other people in the restaurant. I thought that we would get good service seeing they wouldnt be too busy, was I wrong. The food was awful, the service was even worse, the nicest part of the evening was provided by another party leaving and the comments we made about the experience. If you have to go here Dont. Go to KFC on the Castledawson roundabout.

In the basement of the hotel, great atmosphere at weekends and does a great value early bird menu.
