Dear all, Might be long here and it will worth your time. I’m please you are reading my review which is needed to know before you make your decision to visit. I am saying everything in my honest directly from my heart to Hidden. Over months I have driven passing this site in my Lorry and seeing something fancy inside I wonder what would it be. My mind keeps telling myself that I MUST visit as soon as possible. Yesterday I put my money where my mouth is, eventually, I went to Hidden Cafe after touring in Coal Mine Museum nearby as a solo person like a Lone Wolf. In that night of being as customer. Environment inside is so beautiful making my mind going to Shangri La. Whether it is an cafe or an mini restaurant or an bar or all of them! Doesn’t really matter because this urban place is an low key place in all set reasons of visiting. Even pop in for a ten minute drink with your friend. I had an well cooked golden pizza with three buns of garlic bread and an posh red wine in addition to my meal. An ace to the young marvellous chef called Milly. Both of the waitress are lovely and welcoming. Sharing stories and our conversations went up to joy and equally. Just like playing tennis. We speak a few lines and wait for the reply or respond instead of holding the ball for too long. We talked all sort of topics. Music, career, families, prologue, hobbies, future and more. Taking yard by yard. Life goes on. Another to mention, their music in the background is smooth, correct volume and matching to the room of relaxing. Somebody could say, ‘To the stars’. Love the Seed room Lovely food and cakes. Service always good. Garden centre is well worth a look round too, much cheaper than the big chains

Called in yesterday after our walk, after not wanting to que at the little cafe next to the river. We ordered 2 lattes and 2 paninis, had the option of chips or salad as a side. We both chose salad. Then informed no panini but could have it as a toastie, which we agreed however slightly shocked we was charged the same price. Our food came out we both just looked at each other in shock, which is bad to say as you can’t have high expectations with a toastie but the toastie bread had burnt bits stuck to it which was obviously from a dirty panini machine (we managed to pick them off) and the side salad was a bit of iceberg lettuce leafs, soft tomatoes and couple of cucumber slices. I mean if you’re paying £18.40 for this food you expect nice presentation at least, onions, coleslaw etc would help justify the price. I’m sorry to say but It was a typical “dirty” cafe and we definitely won’t be returning .

Friends look forward to visiting me as i always take them to Connie's, and often call for breakfast, passing three other cafes on the way

Fantastic service by Danielle very friendly and quick. Danielle remembers what you have had from previous visit she is quick and is also intrested in you and always asks how people are .

Having just completed my first cycle of chemo and starting to gain my appetite back I decided to order a pizza from here. I ordered my pizza at 18.35 and was told it would be with me in 45mins to 1hr. At 19.58 not having received my pizza I rang back to be told that the pizza was on its way to me. At 20.12 still not having received my pizza I was told it was unacceptable but basically nothing they could do about it as the driver wasn’t answering his phone. The pizza arrived at 20.20 - the driver telling me it wasn’t his fault. The pizza was luke warm and congealed and went straight in the bin. I won’t be ordering from here again as it wasn’t just the delay in the pizza arriving it was the ‘just accept it’ attitude of the staff.

lovely quaint pub, friendly staff will be visiting again especially in the summer time so we can sit near the canal .next time we will try the food
