Have been popping into Lucy’s for the past 18 months and love it. A very independent place that’s a world away from corporate blandness. Not had everything off the menu but the food we’ve had has always been enjoyable to eat. The owner and staff are great and friendly. Went into Lucy’s recently to escape the “chaos” that seems to be descending and wasn’t disappointed. When the current restrictions on cafes etc are lifted, this will be the first place we visit.

Tina and the gang have been running the cafe for years, the experience shows, the food is fab, generous and reasonably priced. If you are looking for dainty this isn't the place for you, step away. The sandwiches are door stops, the big breakfast and drink for ÂŁ8.50 is a belly buster, not intended for the average eater - CHALLENGE ACCEPTED !!! Lol Jo

Visited without booking ,ordered and seated very quickly. The food arrived very nicely presented and was very tasty. We ordered extra tea and this also arrived very quickly.Well priced and the young lady doing the serving was very pleasant. Will be back again soon as the menu has some nice alternatives to standard full English.

Also known as Lucy's Café, it's found along from the main street & Town Hall in the direction of the train station and the new arts centre (yet to open). The breakfasts, lunches and snacks are very tasty — I've never had anything below standard here. They keep it simple, and prices are quite low.

I decided to pop in one day last week for food. I received a warm welcome from the girl behind the bar. I ordered a Guinness and asked about ordering some food. I was handed a menu, deciding on fish and chips. The member of staff directed me to the eating area and kindly brought my Guinness to my table. I waited about 12 minutes or so and my food arrived. It was piping hot and very enjoyable. Reasonable prices, tasty food and friendly service, what more do you need!

It was good to get some coffee like we order at home. We stopped here while touring the center of town and took our to-go cups with us. Good coffee.

Haven't been here for years and pleasantly surprised,it was very nicely refurbished ,staff were very friendly, great choice of drinks, and reasonably priced. They have a good menu and that was also good value for money , definitely go again đź‘Ť

Not happy with service, we ordered coffee and tea while waiting for our meals... We had drank our drinks as we had to wait half an hour for food... One staff member was having there break at one of the tables.. food arrived and had to ask them to take the beens away as they looked awful.. and was still waiting for chips which came a couple of minutes later... Bacon was cold sausage was shriveled in the outside..... On a plus note poached egg was nice..... Will not be going back again.... Shame it used to be great..
