Tea Room in the centre of Sandurst, Kent between Hawkhurst and Northiam. During the week but also excellent Sunday Lunches. Very attractive dining area and a lovely garden.

We were after food and we’re welcomed into the Hive with our two dogs by a friendly lady. We both had coffee’s and ordered off the Greek menu. It seems it’s cooked nearby and brought in to the Hive. I was very hungry and although my burger was very dry It tasted ok. Unfortunately the fries that came with it were so salty I had to leave about half of them. My wife’s pizza was nice but came uncut and the knife supplied must have been very blunt as cutting it was hard work. I would suggest less salt on the fries and either cut pizzas or provide a cutter in the future. Shame about the food issues but the host lady was so pleasant to us we didn’t make an issue out of it while we were there. The Hive itself seems a good multifunction establishment.

This charming cafe is well worth a visit. The service I received today was second to none; I felt really valued and looked after, and the food is excellent. Wonderful combination in the tortilla wrap with sun-dried tomato, cream cheese and avocado. It tasted sensational and you could tell that the ingredients used were extremely fresh. A really nice little place and a credit to Cranbrook. 😀

You could say that this is one of our favourite eateries because we were here with friends twice within 5 days, first of all for an evening meal and then for lunch. Both meals were excellent, especially the Sunday Roast Lunch. The food is well presented and tastes delicious. The portion sizes are ample and very good value for money. My wife is Gluten Free but this does not cause any problems. And, on top of all this, the staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. What more could you want? Can certainly recommend.

Used this coffee shop a few times to meet friends for breakfast/coffee. Dogs welcome and outside area is lovely in good weather. Inside area gives lovely views across the orchards. However, service and staff welcome is hit and miss. Limited menu and over usual prices. I think they are aiming at the incumbent DFL population........ The three visits I have made I have not felt particularly welcoming. There is no greeting from the staff behind the counter and they barely acknowledge even when you order, bring the order to your table or clear away. The hospitality (albeit a coffee shop) is a difficult industry and there are lots of other great coffee shops/cafes in the area as an alternative with warmer welcomes. Breakfast was good but a long wait - 40 minutes for 2 x scrambled egg.

I love the Trough, friendly staff, a very relaxed vibe and a great place to take kids. They also happen to have the best flat white in the weald. I'm a bit of a coffee snob and you won't find a better one anywhere nearby!

We stayed at the George for my aunt’s funeral in a nearby town. It was excellent. The room was large and comfortable, the food and atmosphere were good but what really made the difference was the staff. Everyone was friendly, efficient and responsive. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all lovely with our elderly dog. I know it is a dog friendly hotel but their enthusiasm made a huge difference. I would happily recommend the George for the night or, if you are passing through, a meal. My only criticism was that their parking spaces were tight!
