The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Central Rother South East

Had a wonderful afternoon with friends at aFic this week. Colin has beautiful wines and lovely snacks (we had tempura prawns, breaded mushrooms, cheese & crackers). Just the best! Booking advised.

Annette and the crew are fantastic. Great mix of Greek food and traditional English cafe fare. Everything is nicely made and there’s a great community atmosphere. Definitely check out the Greek nights on Wednesday with amazing food cooked on a charcoal grill!

Always loved strive, really hope the current closure will be temporary and will be back soon, was our favourite go to place, and we're really missing it! Please come back in time for Christmas cakes!

Sometimes we have a brunch. Staff are lovely and polite. Always clean and food is great, my dog loves it too. We go there quite often as it’s local. Try the breakfast or a main meal.

My family and I have been coming here for years. I don’t what they do to their buffalo chicken but I could eat it everyday! The French onion soup is outstanding.

I didn't know it was possible to cook mushrooms with that texture. Inedible. Overall, quite an expensive waste of money. Best feature of the Cafe was all the lovely dogs.

It loos rather tacky from the exterior and the frontage could do with a fresh coat of paint. Once inside it served an excellent traditional breakfast at below average prices. Very popular with builders etc

Had an afternoon tea deal, which was delicious and excellent value and well set up with attentive staff. However the place really needed just some music playing in the background, would really go a long way to elevate the place. There were a few people in the cafe but it was quiet chatter and it felt very sleepy.

Found this Cafe just after we moved to the area in April 2018. It has become our regular Saturday lunchtime venue. Always a warm welcome and varied freshly prepared snacks available up until 3.00.pm daily, although they don't close until 4.00.pm. Beautiful fresh cakes and lovely coffee.

Food isn't great in my opinion..not fresh enough

I was sad to see the last review. Like many other people we visit Wards kitchen regularly. It is a friendly good value traditional cafe with lovely home cooked food and the best cheese scones for miles around! It is a shame that the cafe is upstairs, although you can buy the baked goods in the shop downstairs if you can’t make the climb. Having said that, many people struggle to get up the stairs knowing that the effort is worth it.

A magnificent spot but the food is always such a disappointment, On this occasion I settled for coffee & cake, A sawdusty, bland slab of Christmas cake, The cake portions are generous, too generous. I'd prefer a smaller tastier portion. I'd love to come here & enjoy lunch or a good quality cake & coffee. Please try harder DLW.
