Excellent food. We tried here for a late lunch, although the waitress was on her own and really busy she was very attentive to her customers. Very reasonably priced. We also tried the coffee and cake deal and breakfast during our stay, all excellent value and lovely staff

We took a party of just under forty of our Southport Friendship Group there for lunch today. Food was perfect, as were the staff. As usual, I spoke to everybody, and every one of the group enjoyed the day. We were greeted more like old friends than customers as we arrived, and our people (Mostly elderly) were well looked after.

Lovely place. Staff so friendly and there is a great view over the marine lake. Was my first time visiting there today and would definitely go again. The cake was delicious

A small, compact cafe with a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Definitely a cut above the average park cafe - nice coffee and a good selection of cakes and traybakes. The breakfasts looked good as well.

I come occasionally when I visit my mum who lives in southport. On Saturday we visited and decided to have a cream tea each. Firstly I was told that they only had raspberry jam, not a favourite but after the gentleman checked this was my only choice. The scones were quite hard to cut and very dry, I suspect from being frozen. We were given butter, a pot of jam and a tub of clotted cream each. The cream had a sticker date on which said Fri 16/08. I noticed that the actual stamp in the cream had 24 J on it. I have noticed lately that some items have started to use this date stamp as best before/use by notice. I wasn't sure if this was the same on the clotted cream. When I opened the tub and put my knife in it was like hard butter. At first I wondered if it was frozen, however it appeared hard throughtout. I have had this cream on numerous occasions and it has always been soft beneath the crust, so much so that you can stir it with a knife. This was not like that, it was all like hard butter. I initially tried to spead it on the scone but it did not look right and I took it back to the counter. The two gentlemen checked some more but they were the same. I wasn't happy and so they offered me single or whipped cream, I chose the whipped. I asked for fresh scones, which, to my surprise where even drier than the first ones. The gentleman then bought over the whipped cream, I use the term loosely as it was plant based. This was all they had! I tried a bit but decided against it and just had butter. My mother had some on her's, however at 87 she keeps telling me she can't taste anything so this may be why she didn't mind. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike vegan and I have been a veggie for almost 3 decades, however, to old have plant based whipped cream is not very good. Needless to say I will not be having a cream tea here again, I enjoy their food normally, especially the victoria sponge slice. The hard scones and hard cream did not impress at all.
