Lovely place. Staff so friendly and there is a great view over the marine lake. Was my first time visiting there today and would definitely go again. The cake was delicious

Used this cafe as a meeting place with friends for many years. Went over a week ago and liked the food and service. Unfortunately, as is the norm for us, we made advance arrangements between ourselves to meet again, as we had done for many years. Went for a return visit this week (Wednesday 19th) only to be told that is was closed for a private event. No advance notice and it appears these things can happen at any time at short notice. Very poor organisation and planning to allow that without a calendar of events. I was told the only way to be sure the cafe was open in future was to ring on the day or day before, something we'd never had to do in years of attending. We always make meet up arrangements 4 weeks in advance without issue. Now we risk turning up on the day (as would be normal for any cafe) and being turned away. Very poor, so only 1 star for poor communication.

Saturday staff are kind and helpful. Small choice of food but good quality and price. There is an area for children to play too - family friendly.

This is a great place to have excellent coffee with a great view down the lake. There is plenty of parking spaces and a lift up to the cafe.

We really like it here. Excellent food, friendly service and because the cafe is part of the Lakeside Church a real community feel. The view is great, see the quick pen and ink sketch I did from a seat by the window.

I don’t normally write reviews but wanted to give this place a special mention. I was invited to meet an old friend in the Coffee House, and thought I’d check it out. I didn’t even know this place existed, but wow, I’m glad I went! The atmosphere was relaxed, the coffee was great, the service was efficient and the view over the lake was amazing. I’ve found me a new place, and I intend to come back again. I’ll maybe even bring a friend. I recommend 100%.

We stumbled of the coffee shop whilst out for a walk on our mini break to Southport. It is truly a little gem. The view over the Marine Lake is superb, the seating area is so relaxed and easy. Everyone is so welcoming. We had coffee and sesame flapjack as it was recommended by the gentleman serving us I also spotted my favourite peanut butter cookies so had one of those too. My husband picked a ginger cookie and we decided to share the flapjack lol and not be totally greedy! We settled down onto a very comfy leather sofa, you can sit outside on the veranda if you wish. Honestly I could have gone back for more if both the flapjack and the cookies they were both so beautiful. What more could the place offer great coffee, gorgeous cakes cookies and sandwiches and a superb view in a comfortable and relaxing environment. The coffee shop is run by volunteers and they are all lovely people. I will certainly be back again next time I am in Southport.

We have been several times to this small cafe run by volunteers. It has lots of free parking spaces, and being upstairs has wonderful views across the Marine lake. The food is simple but amazing good value. We are reluctant to tell everyone as it is a hidden gem ! But the more trade they get then the more successful they will be.... and it's all for a good cause.

We came to the coffee lounge this afternoon for our pre-arranged afternoon tea. I have had afternoon teas delivered from there on 3 occasions previously in Southport and they have always been excellent so we went with high expectations that one in the lounge would be equally good, if not better. Unfortunately it was extremely disappointing. I had contacted in advanced and paid deposits for each person and received an email from them detailing the menu but the afternoon teas contained no quiche or sausage rolls, no salad or crisps as had been promised and the sandwich selection was uninspiring (only cheese and pickle and ham). When we tried the scones they were cold, hard and stale and frankly inedible (we think the scones and very small pieces of cake had been previously frozen). The only option the waitresses could offer were 2 clingfilmed left over scones from the display cabinet between 4 people. She did say she had tried to contact the owner whilst we were there but received no reply. We live in Northampton and travelled several hundred miles to take our elderly parents out for a treat but were left feeling very disappointed. I emailed the owner but received no response.

Having walked nearly 10 miles along the beach, the dunes and through the pinewoods, Kitty’s Tea Rooms were a very welcome sight! I only wanted a cup of tea but couldn’t resist the coffee walnut cake (YUM) and a very tasty Club Sandwich. Very friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Perfect.
