Today myself and friend visited for the first time , seen it on Google and my friend enjoys art so the reading room at holt was a lovely surprise, they allow dogs out side but not inside , it’s such a unusual little tea house rather quaint but really very pleasant , with lots of pictures to buy antique s cushions hand made dolls knitted there was just so much to see and books galore , we had a lovely hot coffee tea cake sausage roll , I also picked a lemon drizzle cake but found my eyes were bigger than my tummy ,. So I bought it home with an extra lemon drizzle and two pieces of lemon meringue,. They had such a variety nothing was to much effort and food 💯 percent ,. A lovely place il visit again ,

The first thing that struck us at Ali’s was that, no matter how busy the members of staff were, they always acknowledged and greeted every person who came through the door. So unusual nowadays, but much appreciated. Great find, a short walk from the coast path, serving tourists and locals alike. Cafe and shop, food delicious and fresh. Great coffee.

Very slow service (though friendly staff). Egg Benedict's nice enough, super food salad seemed to have a packaged combo of "grains" with too many sun-dried tomatoes thrown in and a horrid chilli jam, it was not great... Over flavoured rather than fresh. Children's pancakes biggest disappointment as were enough for a 2 year old at most, absolutely miniscule portions even for young children let alone older ones! The location is great though, shame about the food.

The meals were really overpriced and disappointing, service staff were very friendly and we didn't want to complain, but a couple of the meals were pretty awful to be honest, and the rest of them barely passable for £16 odd quid each. A lentil and mushroom stew for £18 that was barely a starter size; a child's pasta for £9 that was eaten in 3 mouthfuls. All round, really delighted with kelling heath facilities, and the woodland lodge is fabulous, but the restaurant really needs an overhaul. As others have said, a captive audience shouldn't justify such overpriced poor choices
