The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Ampthill Central Bedfordshire East of England

Great selection of milkshakes and smoothies. Also a selection of desserts highly recommend the Ambassador

We visit this pub at least once a fortnight, sometimes more often and we just think it's a great place to spend time. Food is generally very good, but we especially rave about the Sunday Lunch to our friends. Roast beef is of excellent quality and portion size is also good. Vegetables are very fresh and plentiful, carrots are amazing to such an extent even my daughter loves them. Yorkies yummy. Jake, his fellow managers, and the rest of the team, are enthusiastic, friendly and run a great operation. We were concerned that the standards may slip when it was recently taken over by a small brewery. Pleased they seem to understand you don't fix what is working well. Overall not much changed, although we have fed back that the wine choice does seem to have been changed and not for the better. As ever however when we fed this back, it was taken on board and it was acknowledged they would look at this. Keep an eye out in the summer, they hold good outside dining/music events. Seen a couple of comments about cost. To be quite honest if price is ones priority, I would suggest there are plenty of other pubs where cheapness is possibly more of a focus that may be more suitable . Personally I like the option of paying a little more for good quality and The George offers this. Maulden with the White Hart also, has two great pubs which offers great choice. Thankyou!

Stumbled upon this place while visiting Ampthill and enjoyed a lovely breakfast of sausage sandwiches with the addition of fried egg washed down with coffee (flat white and cuppachino)

Good old fashioned proper pub..

Food isn't bad most of the time if hugely overpriced, air con is pretty abysmal in the hotter months. Staff work their socks off but clearly the management are absolutely clueless. Constantly hear arguments and you can tell the staff get disheartened from it. Just a shame that the management clearly only care about the bottom line and not staff wellbeing and happiness. In conclusion, go for food if money is not an issue but by no means work there and as a guest be prepared for some Jeremy Kyle sideshow at times.

Otra fantástica cena de asado en este gran pub. El personal es muy atento, y los asados son deliciosos con un montón de opciones para los desiertos. No es que pudiera encajar en una, ya que las porciones son tan generosas. Gran relación calidad-precio en un ambiente cálido y agradable.

A very busy Coffee Shop, with lovely cakes, milkshakes and of course coffee. Saturday morning and not a spare table to be had outside, nor on ground level inside. This large coffee shop was exceedingly popular despite plenty of competition. The five of us sat downstairs and enjoyed our visit, food and drink. Would definitely return. A 10 minute queue did not spoil the occasion.
