Your usual coffee shop, with the heritage pop music, chrome and bare brick, but preferable to the big chains. Decent coffee and tasty toasties. The cakes on display looked suspiciously like the ones on the shelves at Waitrose next door! Nice place overall, and will pop in again if passing

Overpriced for average hot chocolate that was lukewarm and a cake that was £4.20 and stale, staff were very friendly however wouldn’t return

I use this cafe regularly to meet friends. I was with a friend yesterday ordering drinks and cakes to take away. On leaving the premises, I tripped and lost half my Earl Grey Tea. The young lady who had served us was most concerned, made sure I was okay and insisted on replacing my drink with a fresh one. A very nice touch. The mishap was my fault alone. Service and quality here is always to a very high standard 👍🙏

Visited with my brother and his wife at 3pm On a Saturday. Coffee and cakes were great as was service from the staff. However when my disabled brother asked to use the toilet the manager told him they had been cleaned and he was to use the public toilets in the car park. He then watched him limp, in the rain, to the public toilets whilst another customer passed him and use the toilets in the cafe my brother had been refused access to!! It was all very strange! Also one other thing. The prices displayed on the sandwiches in the fridge aren’t what you actually pay if eating in. They are marked up when you pay for them despite us also buying cakes and coffees. There was no sign telling you this was the case. A shame as it’s a great cafe, coffee great and staff so pleasant. But the managers attitude ruined our afternoon and experience.

Ok....so in a coffee shop I want great coffee- the coffee is excellent and the baristas are excellent too. I want wonderful service-- and the staff are professional, competent and always go the extra mile. I want a brilliant sandwich and cake selection and they have this too! I love being able to take my dog in-thank you for the understanding she just lays on the floor and for the treats she gets from you too ! It really is a wonderful local cafe and I also love your coffee logs. ABSOLUTELY Brilliant business. Couldn't do better frankly .... Thank you!

Great hot chocolate; friendly service - not much else to say. We didn't try any of the food but looked to have a good collection of cakes and snacks.

Dreadful customer service, I’m afraid this is not the first time I’ve had a complaint about this place. They regularly get my order badly wrong. It seems when a queue develops, these guys loose the ability to think. This morning was my final visit and the tenner they took off me will be the last tenner I spend here. I did take my coffee (I’d ordered a hot chocolate) back and the manager did offer to put my order right but having waited while two customers behind me got their orders while I waited for my two drinks, (it can’t be that difficult) I decided I had better things to do with my day.

I visit Surfin regularly and I absolutely love it. The staff and manager are always friendly and helpful, the decor is stylish and coffee is always fantastic. Best place to grab a coffee in town :)

Popped in here for a quick coffee and food before a walk up to Houghton House. Staff were really friendly, everything felt really clean and safe and staff were really on the ball with making sure customer stuck to covid rules in a coffee shop! I work in hospitality and its super hard right now getting a balance between making sure people stick to the rules and service is smooth. Hats off to these guys as I really felt they were doing a good job. Chai latte was really lovely and so was my partners latte. Food could have been slightly better (but pricey for what you get) but I also understand everyone has to make money somehow these days! We will be back that's for certain. 👋

Long wait, wrong coffee, leaky cup. Never regretted a quick coffee to drink on way home so much. It was close to the end of the day on Sunday and I think everyone working just wanted to go home.

Couple of good hot coffees here today, sitting out front watching the world go by. Cafe was Covid secure with app check-in, one way system and sanitiser provided. Plenty of table clearing going on. Friendly staff.

I visited last Wed, 23rd Sept. Downstairs was closed, and there was a 1 way system marked out, but nothing was supervised or managed. This meant customers wandered whichever way they wanted, as they had no idea what they should be doing. There was....... No one on the door, to seat or inform customers, No Track and Trace details given or taken, No tables wiped down, the whole time I was there (over 1hour), even though many customers came and went in that time, Constantly around 5-6 staff in the small area behind the counter, No social distancing by staff - often standing almost cheek-to-cheek, chatting, No masks at all worn by staff, even though working in very tight proximity, No clear facilities or request to sanitize your hands. Overall, I thought the cakes and food were very good. But no supervision seemed to be present, and absolutely no organising of customers, apart from some arrows indicating a one - way system. Many customers totally missed that and wondered around very confused. How have this company survived when others have gone to the wall, and are boarded up?

What a lovely gem of a pub. Very friendly pub in a lovely little Bedfordshire village! We were here today for a Sunday roast and after eating out at more expensive restaurants in the area and being disappointed by their high prices and average food, this was on another level, it was beautiful!! Everything was freshly cooked and home mad at a very reasonable price. Shall definitely be returning.😁

The staff were pleasant and the food was fine but oh so slow! From the time we arrived we were waiting at every stage. Waiting to be seated, there was no one in sight. Eventually we were shown to our seats and waited again for someone to take our order, waited again and, after being there over 30 minutes, our tea and coffee arrived, but no milk. The coffee was fine but the tea wasn’t hot, but drinkable as long as I drank it straight down. Another long wait for sandwiches and again a wait for cakes. I would have preferred everything to arrive at once so that I could decide how long to take to eat them. As it was we were there over 2 hours and I was bored. I would hate to be there if it was full as today less than half the tables were taken. Not the best experience of afternoon tea I’m afraid.

Stopped in for a tea, coffee and scone for the first time this weekend as we happened to drive past. It was all lovely and reasonably priced. However it is disappointing that a venue in such a prime countryside location doesn’t at least allow dogs inside somewhere. I imagine their foot traffic would increase substantially if dog walkers could come in for a post/pre walk refreshment.

This place could be amazing but it is lacking atmosphere and the food is very ordinary. It needs a total overhaul. Everything feels dated and they need to look at other restaurants/brasseries in other area. It always seems half empty. Wouldn't go back again.

Yeh good in here. Nice beers. Closed very early though (Sunday 6pm🤔). Is it a pub, or a pub in disguise? Either way, definitely worth a visit.
