Absolutely amazing food, very satisfied with my meal for the price it is

Great McMullen's pub,plenty of seating and lots to chose from. Only one suggestion...we were going to order the bacon pasta,and we were there early ish 7.00pm and they had already sold out,stocks need to be improved.

Really disappointing food. I ordered the boneless chicken and it turned up with literally 3 small pieces of chicken (all very, very salty) and one small jacket potato. No vegetables or salad or anything. The chicken was so salty I couldn’t finish it. Wife ordered the vegetarian katsu curry. It was too spicy to finish. Deserts arrived at different times for our group. Wouldn’t eat here again.

We visited for a family lunch, with 6 adults and 2 children. Our table was in the bar area, right next to the fireplace, which I thought was a nice, cozy spot. We ordered food and drinks at the bar, and after about 30 minutes of waiting, our meals arrived. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The food was poorly presented. I had the cauliflower katsu curry, and it was incredibly spicy—almost as if an entire bottle of sauce had been poured on the plate. The dish was a mess, with deep-fried cauliflower on one side and rice on the other, covered in a heap of red sauce, with no garnish at all. It didn’t resemble a katsu curry in any way. My husband ordered the chicken and jacket potato, and to make matters worse, the chicken arrived half-cooked, still pink on one side. Surely that could have led to food poisoning, and it wasn’t even checked for proper cooking before being served. I wish I’d taken photos to show you all just how bad it was. The service was slow, and it took ages for our plates to be cleared. We even had to flag someone down just to make space on the table for desserts. Overall, the service was poor, and the food was massively overpriced for what we got. Very disappointing experience.

Good service and staff who wanted to ensure we came back. Food was good and plentiful with twists to pub classics.

Third time of visiting. Enjoyed previous visits more. Was a bit disappointed with my main course - pulled chicken with mashed potato - hardly any mash on it. However, the rest of the party enjoyed their meals, and the desserts were good.

Mediocre..Been a few times to give a fare review . Food is a non event. Drink order wrong. Staff are pleasant which is to be expected. I wouldn't use it to have a family celebration. Update 2024. Much better now. Food good. Staff on their game and better service.

Saturday night booking for 8pm. Neither the restaurant or the bar were that busy. Service slow. Ordered a drink for my table and collected it from the bar myself while 5 staff chatted away. Food arrived and as previous posts I have seen. Beef burger overcooked buns stale chicken dry and Coleslaw tasted off. Food was always good on previous visits but this was bad. Overall a bad experience and might explain why the car park was empty on a Saturday evening.

Great staff. Nice and relaxing. Food standards have gone up. Last few meals. Excellent. Had Sausage and bacon pasta bake.

My sister was not greeted properly, the lady never even looked up at her, that is very bad manners, you always greet customers by looking at them and smiling, all the staff were dreadfully miserable, it put a damper on our experience, it won't put us off coming as we like it there, won't be having the ciabatta again steak was unseasoned and undercooked for me, my fault that, I should have specified i like my food cooked, chicken wings were delicious and as always so were the chips, we will all be coming again soon, hopefully the staff will be happy.

Avoid this place like the plague! I vowed never to go back after my last visit when the food was brought out cold and the staff didn’t care. Fast forward to Halloween 2024 and we need a local dog friendly place to eat out. Begrudgingly booked a table online, in the dog area and turned up with our 2 dogs in tow. Found a Halloween party going on and a manager who refused us entry, despite having a booking. Dogs only allowed in the bar area she said, and the bar area tables are all booked out for the party. How are they booked if we’ve booked one online I asked? The website is nothing to do with us and it shouldn’t have let you book, was her response. There was a completely empty restaurant behind her. We were offered no alternative, no suggestion and no apology. Just dismissed. Safe to say that we will never return. We ended up eating at Stratton House in Biggleswade which was dog friendly, gorgeous food, amazing staff and has parking to the rear. I’d recommend booking there and avoiding The Kings Reach.

Nice pub and restaurant with friendly staff.

Booked online via their website. Turned up with the whole family, only to be told by a rude manager that there had been a mistake and they had no availability even though I could show them the booking which was made 45 minutes prior. I accept mistakes happen but the manager was unapologetic and did not care. Will never return again.

The Kings Reach team are always welcoming from the manager right through to the waitresses. Madison went out of her way to ensure my autistic son could access wifi which enabled us to have a relaxing lunch and Emma is engaging and friendly. The food is always of a high standard and the premises spotless. We eat a couple of times a month here and it is because of the overall team who are a credit to the Mcmullen's brand.

1st visit here really friendly welcome, the service was so fast it was unbelievable Had cheese and onion pie part of the crust was quite hard but apart from that very tasty followed by sticky toffee pudding 😋 **they also have a dog friendly area inside.

Much improved since my last visit. The usual pub food but well cooked and presented.

Really disappointed with the food, dry burger in a stale bun, tasteless coleslaw, flavourless chicken wings and completely inedible corn on the cob ☹️ heard lots of good things about this place but unfortunately our experience was the complete opposite. The guy who served me at the bar was great but a few times I was ignored by other members of staff behind the bar who were just milling about, I'd understand if they were busy with other customers but they weren't. Overall though the atmosphere was great, I just wish the food was good enough to warrant coming back.

We had the bacon cheese pasta meal times four, each was so greasy and cold in places, we should have complained at the time but felt sorry for the waitress who actually didn't ask how our meal was! It was the waste of over a £100 meal! Needless to say we won't be returning.

We were served by Lucy H today. We had a lovely experience , there was 8 of us and we had amazing food and service. Our little girl has food allergies and at some places it almost feels as if this is a burden to staff but not here, they are so careful and understanding , making it easy to see what she can safely have, food and service was great and Lucy was so good with our little girl. We come here extremely regularly and would recommend it to anyone.

Decent experience, chicken was great, the ribs disappointing. My fault, they obviously lean a lot on the rotisserie and I should have stuck to what they do best. Would go again, but be prepared to eat a lot of meat?

The food is so much better now than a year ago. Steak is cut thick to get the weight rather than wafer thin which makes it taste so much better. Service was slow but staff super nice. Overall a good experience and it's so good the food is good again

How has this place changed from a good place to eat and drink, now has very poor service and food. Over 10 minutes wait for someone to ask if we would like drinks. Over 10 minutes before they arrived. One hour five minutes for the food. The fish was dry and no one came back to ask if everything was OK. Was asked if we would like a dessert. Told her the food wasn't good. Oh sorry about that. One hour twenty minutes plus wait.

A successful 'new' community pub on the King's Reach estate in Biggleswade. A range of McMullens beers plus guests, & a decent food menu.

Good menu choice, something for everyone. Nice environment, bubbly but not too loud. Waitresses attentive without pestering. Good food.

Food was rubbish. Dry and no flavour. I had to get my drinks from the bar 3 times. 4th time a couple were brought over and handed to us with the staff members fingers all round the rim......We were sat by a door which kept being kicked open by the staff rather than opened like an adult. Crap all round!! Wont ever be going back.

Really really nice garden, outdoor bar and good selection of drinks. Definitely a place to visit when it's nice outside and dog friendly too! Food was good enough for the price, but nothing spectacular. Better than spoons and other chain gastropubs but not as good as a 'proper' restaurant. I'd certainly eat here again, but I wouldn't come for the food explicitly.

Myself & my Wife booked a table for Lunchtime today ( 01st of Sept' ) We arrived on time & was shown to our table by one of your young ladies. A table that was stuck in the corner of your Restaurant with very little room to swing a cat; & a Family just being seated at the table opposite where it was pretty cramped for them,let alone us aswell. We politely asked whether or not we could me moved to another table, which was offered, but it would have given us 45 minutes from start of order to finish !!! We both decided to leave & dine somewhere else. I well understand that you are in the Business for making money but I feel on this occasion that this was put before your Customers & your dining experience. All this said & not being rude, but constructive, I will certainly think twice before booking a table with yourselves My Wife had a word with your Lady Colleague at the desk but had a reply of all the other tables are Reserved !! Many Thanks.

Nice food and good service. Very quick on a Sunday. This was the three meats one.

Delicious fresh food,fish&chips was a huge portion for 15£ and very good quality.The team was nice and kind 😀

Gross food was served in less than 20 minits but it was rock hard or pastry was uncooked, and see throw on bottom hunters chicken lacked any chicken it was as big as a tea spoon,drinks were the only good thing but I was given the food at half price in the end so will say thanks to the manager he was OK

Spacious, affordable drinks, friendly atmosphere & the Korean BBQ wings were cooked to perfection.

My only gripe if if you ask for fish and chips you should get chips NOT fries don't matter how you cut it they were fries not chips. Nice fries but not chips....fish was excellent too. Some might say I'm nit picking bit if it says chips I expect chios not fries.

Lovely place, nicely decorated, and laid out. Clean, comfortable, super friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable prices, super fast service and nice size portions of food.Dogs most definitely welcome with lovely little touches like dog bowls, water, blankets, beds & treats. Plenty of parking and seating inside and out.

The food was really tasty and the service was excellent. We have been there a few times before and have never been disappointed. The Sunday lunches here are so tasty with plenty to eat. At busy times service is a little slow but don't let that put you off #thekingsreach

Came to this place for the first time for lunch. Nice place but the food was a bit lacking in quality. 4 of us ate, 1 of us was entirely happy which was me who had the boneless chicken. Good selection of beers, some which I hadn't heard of but one I initially chose was out as he was puling it. Would go back.

Good food, good atmosphere, dog friendly which is a bonus. Plenty of parking. Service can be slow at times. Do NOT order any cocktails, though. They have a funny way of making them. You will be paying for a glass full of ice with the splash of liquids on top.

Super friendly staff and brilliant service they were really understanding with my nephews sensory issues and helped us with moving to a more quiet area

For a newish pub it wasn't very good we had a group booking for 8people and when we arrived they tried to squeeze all 8 of us on a 6 person table! And they didn't really want to move us to a bigger table either! And the food was shockingly bad in our opinion. The staff were too bad though.it was our first ever visit there and it will definitely be our last

So, myself and my brother went here for lunch. The menu was good and as I'm gluten free, I was pleased to see that had a GF menu. Pretty good choice on the GF menu too. The food was well presented and very tasty. The servi e was a bit meh. The guy that I spoke to behind the bar a few times was speaking so fast, that it was a) difficult to understand, b) too quick to take in the info. He also insisted on walking by at the bar and would ask how he could help from the till position, which was all a bit odd. The servers were OK though and polite. Would I go back. Yep.

Been here many times with the old menu and it was a fantastic pub. Some minor issues on occasion but all in all a great atmosphere. Unfortunately the menu has been updated now and it is lacking in choice and no different to many other pub offerings. I have had better food at a childrens soft play centre while spending far less money.

Good service, alas the food was below par Steak pie filling was tasty and tender, however the pastry was awful, suspect made using palm oil. Apple pie was barely Luke warm and had the same pastry issue as the steak pie. Mild beer was more like a flat bitter, not dark like other mild beer that I had expected.

Really disappointing today. Booked a table, appreciate it's father's day so it's busy, hence booking. Gent on the phone when booking was polite, took my details and even read back to me to confirm and assured table was booked for 6pm. Get there just before 6pm and 2 ladies turned us away saying there is no booking and said we could sit at the bar if we wanted instead. I explained the booking yet they said they cannot give a table. Not ideal !

sunday roast was tasteless, small portion, and extremely bland. Also ordered pork crackling on the side which were cold and so stale impossible to bite into. The meal was £19 each and definitely not worth that price in the slightest l. Avoid.

An absolute gem! The food is really good, decent choices on the menu and a really good roast on a Sunday, all at a good price too. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Dog friendly too which is a bonus.

The KR is a treasure, something Biggleswade was missing. It's family friendly, dog friendly and so accommodating. Recommend the fish and chips personally but all their food is great.

We had the sunday roast Yorkshire pud was soggy roasties were rock hard and the meat ( beef ) was hard to cut due to blunt knives and to cap it off the veg was almost none existent.

I have given 1 star .came out for a couple of drinks but it was like drinking in a dog kennels club dogs barking one dog barked which started all the others off nightmare

Unfortunately our experience wasn't as it has been previously. We arrived on time 1pm was told there was a 30 to 40 minute delay on food. Our food arrived over an hr and 1 of the dishes was sent back, the fish was very over cooked. Gutted with this experience as I'd arranged my son to come to surprise his grandparents. Unfortunately it appears quantity is coming above quality

Great pub for a drink but very poor service and food. I booked for a table of 14 a month before, chose my table which we didn't get! The service was so slow one member of the party got their starter when everyone else had finished theirs! then we waited another hour before we got our mains, one was Inedible and by that time I gave up so it wasn't a very enjoyable experience for a small golden wedding meal.

Waited for an hour and no food had been delivered. Asked for how long the average wait time was and told an hour. Waited another 30 minutes and still no food had arrived. Requested for a full refund and only given part. Don’t go unless booked.

Lovely food and there were board games available to keep our 4 year old entertained.

On Sunday 28th April, me and my husband decided to book a table for a nice Sunday roast (or so we thought!). Much to our disappointment, the roast was quite easily the worst pub roast we've eaten. The yorkshire puddings were so dry, they snapped/crumbled like a crisp and were completely inedible; the roast potatoes were dry and stale and the vegetables were undercooked! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

I’ve eaten quite a lot of the normal mon-sat menu and have always found the food to be tasty, the portions are a little on the small size thou. So I decided to give the roast a go on Sunday 28th April and I have to say it was really really disappointed. I’ve eaten roasts in many pubs across the country and this was the worse roast I have had. The beef was ok and my wife’s chicken was nice. However the roast potatoes were soft and mushy, the Yorkshire pudding was like eating cardboard had no fluffiness or taste at all and it seemed as if the carrots hadn’t even been cooked at all. The couple next to us were saying the same thing as well and laughing at how comically dry the Yorkshire pudding was trying to cut into it. The weekday food has always been nice but wouldn’t recommend the roast at all. Very very disappointing. I have never had to moan about a meal before but felt this needed reviewing and feeding back.

Disappointing Sunday lunch for the price and not value for money. 3 roast potato’s, 3 pieces of carrot and a few peas with a huge chewy Yorkshire pudding. Lamb shank was lovely. Eaton Mess Sundae in a bowl as apparently all 5 Sundae glasses were in use with a blunt, verging rude attitude That we could wait for a glass to be available or take it as it is. Usually a generous tipper but today my tip is purely to work on the feedback, do something with it and be kind.

There is a restaurant at the rear and drinks served at the front. There is a lot of room but it gets busy. Variety of drinks is good with some guest beers/ales. Food is ok

Very nice decor welcoming and warm. Food was very good I had the steak with peppercorn sauce and it was very good definitely will be going back there and having it again. Friendly polite servers and food came out quickly.

We just visited here today returning after a beautiful roast a couple months ago… however absolutely terrible service in terms of waiting. We waited 50 minutes for mains and then a further hour for ice cream dessert with a 2.5 year old and 6 of us guests in total. The mains were very nice but so disappointing waiting so long for dessert we gave up and got the bill and left. We did get 20% off for the long wait so can’t give it 1 star. Not sure if we would come back.

1st time visiting The King's Reach, the service was 5star. We was served by Paloma. Everyone in my party said how wonderful she was. The food was delicious, I had the Lamb shank and the Yorkshire pudding was sooo big!! We shall definitely be back!

I ordered a burger and fries £15 It turned up, it was laughable, like a children's portion. About 5 fries and a burger the size of a little child's snack. The portions are down, prices are way to expensive for what is effectively just a average pub!! I can pay these prices and go to s decent restaurant. Won't be going back

This was our first time at The Kings Reach and it will not be our last. The staff were lovely, the service was very good and the food was delicious. My roast beef was excellent. We had a group of 12 and everyone enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.

It was our first visit to Kings Reach as a central point for our family get-together. We wanted to say thank you for giving us a table of our choice and excellent service by all the staff. In particular we would like to mention Emma, who was attentive, sweet and funny. Our meal and drinks were served speedily and despite the restaurant being very busy, her service was impeccable. We had a really lovely time. Thank you.

Great food and service. Enormous portions. Good accessibility. Next time we'll come a bit later to avoid quite so many kids.

Just had a lovely roast here for Mother’s Day, we came at 5 and all the roasts were available. Clearly it was super busy and the staff were rushed off their feet! But they all remained positive and made the atmosphere much more enjoyable! Big shout out to Elissa, she was so so lovely and happy, brilliant service and she was working so hard, it didn’t go unnoticed at all! Thank you for a lovely Mother’s Day meal!!

Just popped in for a drink. Must be one of the cleanest pubs I have visited in a long time! Will definitely go back for a meal!!

Busy, and would be noisy, except that they've created lots of quieter spaces with good use of internal walls. Food is always excellent, as is the service, we particularly enjoy their Sinday Roasts and puddings.
