This place could be amazing but it is lacking atmosphere and the food is very ordinary. It needs a total overhaul. Everything feels dated and they need to look at other restaurants/brasseries in other area. It always seems half empty. Wouldn't go back again.

spur of the moment decision to have a late lunch somewhere in Woburn. From the exterior the Woburn Brasserie was as appealing as any other in the high street. Service was efficient and friendly, prices were reasonable and the food was good. The only negative was an elderly lady sitting in the corner randomly swearing! Nothing at all to do with the Brasserie. Would visit again.

We booked a table for family of 6 plus baby. We ordered beetroot hummus to start and when it arrived it was normal hummus. The waitress never said anything so when I enquired about it not being beetroot she said oh yes we did'nt have any so gave what we had instead. At least she could have given us the choice of not having it as this was not what we ordered! I should have known then that things would get worse My chicken burger was not a burger but half a bland chicken breast in between one slice of tomato and lettuce in a very dry bun. Chips were dark brown and over cooked. My husband and daughter had fish and chips. The batter was thick, stodgy and tasteless with very little fish inside. My other daughter had a BLT which should have been toasted but was not so it was just a brown bread sandwich. In details of restaurant it is stated all food freshly cooked to order. Everything was frozen so that is simply not true. Overall We would not return as poor value for money. On the up side the staff were friendly, service was slow even though it was'nt busy but I can excuse this as they may have been short of staff. There however was no excuse for the food!

Arrived for an impromptu Sunday lunch. Didn’t expect to get a table given there was a craft fair and food market on. No problem, there was plenty of availability. There was a jazz band playing, nice touch but the volume was rather loud and not possible to have a conversation. Sorry to say the roast chicken we ordered was dry and bland. The vegetables; baby corn and broccoli were watery. The staff were pleasant.

Ordered a Sunday roast, waited over an hour for something which was over cooked and dry, brought it up with the manager to be told well don’t eat it then and took the dish away without offering a replacement. They were not busy, we were one of 5 tables only. The manager was rude, didn’t help or offer alternatives, they were rude from the start, when I asked about Gluten free options I was told they would just see what they could do even though the menu stated they had gf options. The jazz band was also so loud that you couldn’t hear anyone speak at the table. I would not recommend to anyone- rude staff, over priced canteen food and long waits

My cousin had pre-booked a mothers day brunch several weeks before, including all of the food required. We got there for 10.30 and I think we ate at 12.15. The manager said someone had the list of our food in her car but had to go away for a and had lost it - or some tale! My cousin reminded him that she had in fact spoken to HIM the previous evening to confirm the menu choices. There followed a lot of excuses and nonsense. A flat out apology - I am sorry we have screwed this up would have helped. On top of this the food was poor. A full english breakfast was tiny - one sausage one piece of bacon one egg, a child's portion. The kids breakfasts had two charred sausages - your dog wouldn't have eaten them! Two breakfasts were wrong and we kept being told how busy they were - really one place to AVOID

This was booked as I used to live locally and the Woburn Brasserie was always so difficult to get a booking as it was such a great food experience. Returning for the weekend then it was booked for lunch What a disappointment. From arrival - no one to greet us, show us to table - onwards. Very limited and uninspiring menu. No atmosphere We ordered bread and oils - we got a burger bun, cut in half, each half then quartered plus a rolled tortilla wrap sliced with a ramekin with minuscule amount of balsamic and huge amount of not very nice olive (?) oil. We reconstructed the burger bun like a jigsaw. How bread and oils can be that revolting is beyond me. Our pushing it away was noticed by a lady not there when we arrived and who we assume was the manager or owner. She apologised saying it should have been ciabatta and she did not know why this had happened. We were not charged for it Owing to lack of exciting mains (burgers, fish & chips, Sunday roasts - which we saw being served and did not look appetising) we opted for starters and a selection of sides. Seabass Lime & Ginger fish cakes with a side salad and onion rings Spicy chicken skewers and straw fries. The fish cakes, onion rings and straw fries - obviously frozen, prepared foods. Nothing special at all. Could have probably got from a supermarket. The spicy chicken skewers - not presented at all well. Looked like leftovers to be honest. Had to ask for the side salad and got a plate of what was really just another garnish (as was with fish cakes and chicken skewer) To cap it all there was a lad going backwards and forwards to the kitchen with crockery or something but in football kit and muddy football boots - questionable in a kitchen, noisy on a wooden floor Very disappointed.

Went here for Sunday lunch as a little celebration with some friends, turned up and it was freezing as the staff insisted the doors must be kept open. Took ages to get someone to take our drinks order. Ordered food and when it came out it was sad looking, disappointing and cold. Ordered a roast and the gammon was 2 slice of cold ham that looked like it had come out of a sandwich meat pack from the supermarket and the beef was dry and cold. In fact the only thing that was hot was the gravy. We didn’t bother staying for pudding. When we came to pay the bill, it was wrong and they tried to argue with me. I’ve been here before and it was nice, but I won’t be going back again. Overpriced poor service and Rubbish food.

Firstly the starter platters, which are around £17 / £18 each, were very poor for how expensive they were. The bread was just white hovis buttered rather than a bread you would use to accompany smoked salmon and the prawns were like something out of a packet. The chicken skewers and a few pieces of chopped chorizo were okay but other than that it had some plain tortilla crisps, a small bowl of olives and a couple of gherkins, which for the price seemed very steep. The mains then took a very long time to come and although my fillet steak stack was delicious (my favourite part of the meal) the roast dinner was below par. It came out with nearly no gravy and when asked for more it arrived 10 minutes after, by which time the meal was cold. I’ve seen this issue mentioned before and it feels as though this is something that could be easily resolved. The dessert was very nice, however again did have a fair wait. Overall an average meal but fairly expensive and slow service.

My mother in law went for the salad as well with chicken and they very kindly made it with her favourite salad vegetables leaving out the ones she didn’t. My father in law had ham egg and chips and my husband had fish and chips and they both said they really enjoyed both dishes. The chips looked amazing! We waited 90 minutes for the food to come out in 10min intervals for 8 people. The food was cold, the roast beef didn’t even look like beef, paper thin and grey. It was that tough you couldn’t cut it with a steak knife!!! The gammon was the same. The steak frittes was not nice, again tough meat.Pints of lager requested, tinned beer. I asked for a glass of Prosecco but was told I could only buy a bottle not a glass!!! I ended up embarrassing and in tears on my birthday celebration... spoilt my whole day!! After lockdown it was the first meal out to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The Sunday roast was a disappointment. The carrots were so hard we couldn't get a fork into them. We complained and were asked how we liked them. Cooked ! The second portion was raw but boiling hot. The green beans were non existent. The yorkshire pudding rubbery. Two slices of beef were cold but tender. The meal was lacking in gravy and we asked for more which arrived halfway through our meal. The only good thing were the 4 roast potatoes- hot and tasty. Our table was booked for lunch at 3 o'clock and we assumed that food was running low as portion size was small which was fine for us ladies and we were able to manage a desert which was the best part of the meal - delicious. Staff are friendly and understood our complaints and gave us a free desert off the total price. A disappointing birthday meal but we didn't let it spoil our day.

Sent back not really any apology - as a waitress myself I wouldn't have taken that out of the kitchen. Reordered different option as hungry and didn't know where else would be open. Chicken skewers with pitta. That was OK but the pitta was so stale as to be chewy!! Also cold! Gave up at that point. No credit offered from the bill. Toilet blocked! Lunching with a friend for the first time at Woburn Brasserie was rather frustrating. We waited for over half an hour to receive our cold starter. We watched customers who arrived some ten to fifteen minutes after us, tuck into their hot lunches long before we received our cold starters. I've never seen prawn cocktail served with baby leaves (looked like the leaves - uncut - were straight out of Tesco) but it was acceptable enough because there were plenty of prawns. The main courses, salmon and a burger, when we finally received them were indeed well cooked and tasty but a bit mean on vegetables, except potatoes, of which there were many. I doubt that the carrot batons on my plate would constitute more than one full size carrot. There were only a few French beans. A bit pretentious, I thought. My friend enjoyed her burger. Given the number of tables, the available parking was very limited. However, alternative parking is available a few minute's walk away. I will not be visiting this restaurant again but if you don't mind waiting for it, the food is good, albeit expensive for what you get for your money.

Visited for afternoon tea with my two children. I would have been better off going to M&S. Afternoon tea is an experience. This wasn’t. The tea pot was a battered old metal thing. The scones were stale, the cream was off, the finger sandwiches were basic and in some of them only had a small amount of cheese. Only one smoked salmon Sandwich. The cheesecake, brownie and rocky road were random. Potentially bought from costco?Such a disappointing afternoon.

I booked an evening meal for two on Sat 8/2 and had a choice of times. Saturdays in Woburn restaurants are usually busy, this should have warned me. The service was good, the lady taking the orders was friendly and attentive and pleasant. But with so few tables being occupied she was probably glad of something to do.The food was adequate at best. The starter of a shared Camembert was fine but the main was really just a standard pub meal. The plates were cold, not a good start. The presentation was average. Chips in a small cup, peas(frozen?) in another small bowl. The chicken was drab, and dull, not awful but it didnt feel like it was made with much care. My wifes mash hardly had any taste , as if it was watered down (really?). Thre vegetables while OK, were not what was expected at the price we paid. It was pub food but not at pub prices. The presentation , and lack of other customers, made us feel the restaurant was going through the motions of being a restaurant. Doing just enough to keep the doors open but not enough to make me want to return. A meal out should be an uplifting experience, thing of joy. This was neither A few doors up the road is the Black Horse. We stopped there after the meal and benefited from an excellent environment and a place one would wanted to be. The Brassie could learn a lot from taking a look in.

Myself and my partner decided to go here for breakfast one morning. We assumed it would be lovely simply because it’s in Woburn and looks like a nice place. We both ordered a full English breakfast. We waited 30 minutes for our breakfast! When I asked what was taking so long I was told they were busy. Well there was a few people inside but the rest of the place was empty. I was not given an apology. Eventually our breakfast finally turned up. I was pleased and about to start before I noticed a black curly hair on my plate! I was disgusted and sent my food straight back. I hate to be the person who ‘complains’ but I was totally put off and couldn’t face a new plate of food. I asked for a new slice of toast because I was so hungry. Only to be presented with the same slice from my plate I’d sent back! I knew this because it still had beans on the side of it. There was no gesture of goodwill and the staff were very sheepish. Clearly the hygiene standards in the kitchen are minimal and I can’t imagine the staff wear hair or beard nets otherwise this wouldn’t have happened. I was very dissatisfied. I would however, have been more pleased and wouldn’t have written this review if there has been some sort of effort to salvage my experience. But there was nothing. We paid full price for everything we had and they just took the price off my breakfast off the bill. Because I didn’t have it! Needless to say, I will not be going back.

Booked a table the previous evening online. When we arrived for brunch, the restaurant was closed and we were informed they weren’t taking tables as they had one big table in (not even that big, around 14 people). We informed the dismissive waitress we had booked and she said she wouldn’t have picked the booking up without any apology. She said we could sit down anyway so we did. We had to get our own menus, and it took the waitress around 30 mins to take a drinks order, which she came over to do as we walked out the door. No apology, staff very dismissive.

5 of us booked at a table, 2 of the 5 meals were wrong not as ordered. Burger was undercooked. Despite there being 7 customers in the whole restaurant service was below average, had one drink , requested dessert menu which came handwritten on two bits of paper stapled together.

Popped in here one Sunday- haven't eaten here for years so thought would give it a try. Should have know by the lack of people in here- couple next to us were having the Sunday roast which looked dry - so decided to order off the menu- ordered a grilled salmon and sausage and mash- the whole presentation looked like a child had cooked it- the so called new potatoes were old and some not cooked and both meals were just warm- sent them back - 2 minutes later the food came back- same piece of salmon and potatoes had just been heated in the microwave- mash potato was lumpy and sausages still warm with no onion gravy.

Had Sunday lunch today at the brasserie. I have eaten here before and thought this was a safe option however this visit the quality of food and service was poor at best. We chose the roast beef, it was so tough to cut that we all gave up trying and only ate a mouthful or two. The Yorkshire puddings should have been relabelled Yorkshire pancakes as they were very flat and stodgy.

Booked a table via Open Table after visiting the restaurant website for 6 people on Friday 29th November (1st night of Christmas Menu). Firstly, we were seated by the back entrance which was extremely chilly (when mentioned to the staff, advised that this was the area for tables of 6), then when the regular menu was presented, we were advised 4 of the 9 main course items (we didn't count the burgers) were unavailable. We were actually expecting to eat off the Christmas Menu but were told this had to be pre-booked.There was no option to select this through the Open Table booking. Our starters: The prawn cocktail came without Sourdough & was just a small mass of watery prawns in cocktail sauce in one lettuce leaf and the Chicken Skewers came with Flatbread & a Sweet Chilli Dip (should have been Tzatzike & Flatbread wasn't mentioned on the menu)! Mains: 3 of us ordered the Beer Battered Catch of the Day - the Chips were good, but the fish itself was tasteless & just about warm enough at best. The peas were also cold & amounted to about an egg cup full. The tartare sauce was just awful, in both appearance & taste. We had previously eaten here some 3 years ago and the food & ambience was excellent then - not so on this occasion & as we were meeting up to celebrate 2 birthdays & a Christmas get together, we were bitterly disappointed. Perhaps we should have realised that something was amiss as apart from another couple of tables, it was empty & at 10pm (on a Friday!) we were the last to leave (probably much to their relief!)

My wife and I booked for a Friday evening at 7.30, we were looking forward to a nice evening out. Alarm bells rang when we arrived as there was only one other couple in restaurant. The waitress then told us that two of the main courses had been removed from menu, the beef onglet, and feather of beef. We both then chose the Moroccan Lamb with Cous Cous which was very tasty. We felt a little uncomfortable towards the end of the meal as it closed at 9.30pm and the cashing up process had begun, bearing in mind our table was booked for 7.30 so we called for a taxi and left at 9.10. It would probably be a better experience if the restaurant was busier and the atmosphere lively.

Waited an hour to be served and then the main turned up with the soup starter and they only gave you a fork to eat your soup !! Very poor and rude service, the waitress had a real attitude. It was so bad that a couple who came in after us got fed up with waiting and left. The food however when it came was not too bad, a very poor lunch menu not much choice

Yeh good in here. Nice beers. Closed very early though (Sunday 6pm🤔). Is it a pub, or a pub in disguise? Either way, definitely worth a visit.

Stopped in for a tea, coffee and scone for the first time this weekend as we happened to drive past. It was all lovely and reasonably priced. However it is disappointing that a venue in such a prime countryside location doesn’t at least allow dogs inside somewhere. I imagine their foot traffic would increase substantially if dog walkers could come in for a post/pre walk refreshment.

What a lovely gem of a pub. Very friendly pub in a lovely little Bedfordshire village! We were here today for a Sunday roast and after eating out at more expensive restaurants in the area and being disappointed by their high prices and average food, this was on another level, it was beautiful!! Everything was freshly cooked and home mad at a very reasonable price. Shall definitely be returning.😁

The staff were pleasant and the food was fine but oh so slow! From the time we arrived we were waiting at every stage. Waiting to be seated, there was no one in sight. Eventually we were shown to our seats and waited again for someone to take our order, waited again and, after being there over 30 minutes, our tea and coffee arrived, but no milk. The coffee was fine but the tea wasn’t hot, but drinkable as long as I drank it straight down. Another long wait for sandwiches and again a wait for cakes. I would have preferred everything to arrive at once so that I could decide how long to take to eat them. As it was we were there over 2 hours and I was bored. I would hate to be there if it was full as today less than half the tables were taken. Not the best experience of afternoon tea I’m afraid.
