What a lovely gem of a pub. Very friendly pub in a lovely little Bedfordshire village! We were here today for a Sunday roast and after eating out at more expensive restaurants in the area and being disappointed by their high prices and average food, this was on another level, it was beautiful!! Everything was freshly cooked and home mad at a very reasonable price. Shall definitely be returning.😁

I held my 80th birthday at the Sugar Loaf, Meppershall, and we had a great time Holly and her staff really went the extra mile, to make the event go well, the buffet was great, they even when out of their way, when two of my guests announced they could only eat glutton free food, they went made sure that they got a buffet meal, cant thank them enough

Came into the SugarLoaf without a booking and felt immediately welcome! The Menu had a wide variety of dishes and it was hard to choose one thing! I went for a Sunday Roast and the beef was just melt in the mouth! Would highly recommend you try this pub as the Service was attentive by Alison and the food was superb! Will definitely be a returning Customer!

This place could be amazing but it is lacking atmosphere and the food is very ordinary. It needs a total overhaul. Everything feels dated and they need to look at other restaurants/brasseries in other area. It always seems half empty. Wouldn't go back again.

The staff were pleasant and the food was fine but oh so slow! From the time we arrived we were waiting at every stage. Waiting to be seated, there was no one in sight. Eventually we were shown to our seats and waited again for someone to take our order, waited again and, after being there over 30 minutes, our tea and coffee arrived, but no milk. The coffee was fine but the tea wasn’t hot, but drinkable as long as I drank it straight down. Another long wait for sandwiches and again a wait for cakes. I would have preferred everything to arrive at once so that I could decide how long to take to eat them. As it was we were there over 2 hours and I was bored. I would hate to be there if it was full as today less than half the tables were taken. Not the best experience of afternoon tea I’m afraid.

Stopped in for a tea, coffee and scone for the first time this weekend as we happened to drive past. It was all lovely and reasonably priced. However it is disappointing that a venue in such a prime countryside location doesn’t at least allow dogs inside somewhere. I imagine their foot traffic would increase substantially if dog walkers could come in for a post/pre walk refreshment.

Yeh good in here. Nice beers. Closed very early though (Sunday 6pm🤔). Is it a pub, or a pub in disguise? Either way, definitely worth a visit.
