The best restaurants serving Mexican food in England

The food was super yummmy and the staff were so friendly. The food and drinks arrived really quickly and tasted amazing.

My sister and I were looking for somewhere for dinner in Southend and found the great reviews for this restaurant. It did not disappoint! Great selection of vegetarian dishes for me and 2for1 cocktails- what's not to like! Would definitely recommend!

I visited Taco-Macho for a family birthday recently. The restaurant is in the upstairs of the Cuckoo Taproom so plenty of of opportunity for pre and post dinner drinks. Gustavo, Taco Macho owner, is a really generous host, his food really is utterly delicious and I could probably eat there every day! :) Everything is very reasonably priced and the restaurant space is small and chilled. There is also the option to have your food in the pub downstairs. Highly recommended!

Tacos Del Sol is one of my favourite places to eat whenever I’m in Ambleside. Chris and Marisol, who run it, have created something special here—it’s simple, cosy, and the food is genuinely incredible. Their tacos and burritos are always packed with flavour. The chicken and beef are perfectly cooked and full of seasoning, and the guacamole and salsa pico de gallo are so fresh that they stand out in every bite. They also make quesadillas and nachos, which are just as good if you’re in the mood for something different. There’s a small selection of drinks, including soft drinks, craft beer from local breweries, and tequila. It’s not a huge menu, but it feels thoughtfully chosen and complements the food really well. The space itself has a relaxed vibe, with around eight seats inside where you can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere. It’s a nice spot to slow down and take your time, and there’s even a bench outside if you’d rather eat in the fresh air or take your order to go. Chris and Marisol are always so friendly, and their passion for what they do really shows. It’s the kind of place that keeps me coming back because it feels like more than just a meal—it’s always a great experience.

Have walked past Bandito Burrito 5 times a week, but on a recent day off, we ventured in. My loss, what a place!! I had the Salt Beef burrito with cheese and all the fixings, my partner had the Vegan special. Both were delicious, and huge portions!!! The Mexican cola was tasty, much nicer than you know who, and was perfect to wash the burrito down. Perfect service, wallet-friendly. We'll be back!

Crackin authentic mexican food. Paloma tequila cocktails just amazing. Great owners and staff. Friendly and attentive. Fresh ingredients and amazing home chipotle salsa and salsa verde. We'll be back as Arnie says! 😀

Great food as always. Been going here for years. Food is always brilliant. Menu is amazing and so is the food. One thing this place has taught me is to try something new. This is a brilliant local business.

Visited for my sisters 40th birthday celebrations. Absolutely appalling service. We went as a group of 8 and had booked the bottomless brunch. There was another group of approx 8 seated near us and three tables of 2 downstairs. We had 3 drinks in two hours! When we went to the bar after receiving just one drink in the first 40 minutes of being there we were snapped at and told “it’s table service!” so we let them know we were ready for another round and come someone come and take the order? He barely looked up from the iPad and said “I’ll be up in a minute” Our food order wasn’t even taken until we had been there for an hour and 45 minutes. The slots were for two hours. When it arrived the food was tasty but barely warm, never mind hot and some people only got parts of their order. The chicken in the tacos was freezing cold and we ordered extra sauces that never came but we were charged for! We did ask if we could have more drinks with our food but we were told absolutely not. Even though we were a pre-booked table and they took 1 hour and 55 mins to get the food to us…. We asked during one order if we could also order a few small glasses of Prosecco to toast my sisters birthday, this was a cheeky request but as service was so painfully slow and the Prosecco was an option on our BB choices we tried but were flat out refused this. One round came with only 7 drinks and when my sister queried where the other one was we were told “it’ll only be a minute” being a landlady myself I know a vodka and Diet Coke does not take 20 mins to prepare but that’s how long it came to come out. The rest of us had finished our drinks by then! They advertise that you get bottomless chips and dips when having bottomless brunch, you don’t! We asked more than three times for them but never got any. Upon asking for a manager the lovely young waitress, who to be fair, was working really hard said she would get him. She also told us she was sorry for the slow service but she was supposed to be working downstairs and him covering upstairs. He came up and listened to us but was very surly and unapologetic. He eventually says we could have another round of drinks and they would knock off one of the brunches. He disappeared again. When we asked for the bill he hadn’t knocked one off and the extra sauces we had asked for but didn’t get were still on there. We had to wait again for the waitress to find him to make sure she could take it off the bill. Honestly, a laughable experience. Get better! Shocking “manager” slow, painfully slow server making drinks and cold food. The only saving graces were the young waitress who was lovely and I imagine the food would have been lovely had he been there to take it from the kitchen when it was fresh and hot!

Best food around. The meat is bought from a local butcher so you know the burgers etc are fresh and proper meat not the frozen processed crap I am a fussy eater but wanted to try the food as it always smells amazing when passing. I had a Philly Steak burger and loaded fries. It was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend 👌 👍

This is my second time at Karibu. I do not usually opt for a vegan menu but having ordered from there earlier in the year and had a fantastic meal we had to come back for more. My particular favourite is the polenta chips! I look forward to our next meal from Karibu!

I would've attached a photo but the food didnt last long enough! Got 2 portions of dirty fries and they were delicious. 100% will be visiting again. Good customer service and quick to reply to my queries over Facebook messenger.

Have been back here now a couple of times recently. Being honest Indian was not usually our first choice for a meal out but this place has converted us. We were there last night. I had Lamb Kundan Kaliyan and my husband had Lamb Byriani and both were absolutely delicious. It was one of the best plates of food I have had. The service is second to none. Would recommend.
